‘Why aren’t they out yet?’ Rina asked.
‘I don’t know. I hope they aren’t arguing,’ Naru said.
‘Calm down,’ Matara said.
A few minutes later, Jarel walked out the door, holding Sai’s right hand and leading her out. Happily, the women prickled red substance on them and threw red flower petals in the air as they passed. Jarel nodded at Sai’s family and got into the chariot with her.
Fei rode the chariot straight to the village square at a slow pace. When they got there, Jarel led Sai out of the chariot. They met everyone waiting, everyone including those that were at Sai’s place.
There was a path in front of them made of gems. And on it were red flower petals from beginning to the end where a platform was. Jarel led Sai through the path and on to the platform. On the platform was the chief who stood at the side and in the middle was a bowl and a small altar like structure. Sai placed the candle on the altar and Jarel lit it up with his finger.
