'Good evening, how may I be of help to you?' the sister asked. The young lady was about to say something when a figure stepped out the car and said, 'long time no see sister Sarai,'. Caught off guard by that voice, the sister who was called stared at the owner and couldn't help scream, 'Huno???'. Huno stepped forward, spread both arms and said, 'I'm back,'.
'You are alright, you are actually alright,' sister Sarai said. She smiled widely and sincerely, standing still, as if still trying to absorb the information she just got.
Huno walked up to her, gave her a hug and answered, 'I'm alright and doing well,'. Most of the adults stood up in shock, the kids who remembered him rushed over and joined the hug while yelling, 'Huno is back, Huno is back,'. 'It's nice to see you all, Stephen, Eta, Ano, Elizabeth, Betty, Mitch, Erlson, Stones, Julius, Mary, Lilly, Jonny, you all have grown big, I barely recognize you,' Huno said and raised the youngest up.
'You are back, you won't leave again, right?' the youngest asked. 'I'll be around for a while,' Huno replied. The kid's face changed a little, 'it's alright Betty, I brought some treats,' Huno said and looked at the driver who stood in front of the car's boot. He nodded at the driver, and the driver walked over with two big cartons. 'Here you go,' Huno said as the driver handed over a snack. 'Yay,' Betty yelled happily.
'Betty, what do you say?' sister Sarai voice sounded. 'Thank you, Huno,' Betty said happily. Thanks came one after another as the driver shared the snacks, and soon the other kids ran over and also got.
When both cartons were empty, the driver went to get another and continued to share. The adults walked over, and one young lady said, 'long time Huno where have you been? You got plenty of us worried,'. 'Sorry about that, I needed a change of environment because of what happened,' Huno replied. 'How have you guys been?' he asked. 'We've been good, facing each day as it comes,' another replied.
'That's all we can do, we just have to...,'. 'Sorry Huno but don't be rude, it will be nice to introduce us,' sister Sarai said, interrupting him. 'Oh right forgive me, Luna this is sister Sarai the one I take as my mother, sister Sarai this is Luna, she's my...,'. 'I have seen mother-in-law,' Luna said, cutting Huno short.
Everyone frowned and looked at her before she shouted, 'what?'. Luna took sister Sarai hand with a smile, 'mother-in-law please forgive me for not getting something better, but husband here told me I should get something simple, so I could only listen,' Luna said and wore her a bracelet.
The bracelet was yellow colored with three medium diamonds on it.
'Wow,' some kids said. 'It's pretty,'. 'It's shining,'
Sister Sarai stared at the bracelet in shock before looking at Huno with a questioner's look.
Huno hit his forehead with his palm and said, 'sweetie over here that's not something simple, (he turned to sister Sarai and the others) yes she's my wife,' he said.
Luna frowned and pouted, 'what do you mean, sweetie? It's the simplest item I could find, anything else will be total nonsense as a gift,' he retorted. Huno laughed placed his hand on her head and said as he rubbed, 'sweetie what you call nonsense as a gift is treasure over here, our place is different remember,'. 'I remember, (she turned to sister Sarai) forgive me mother-in-law,' Luna looked down and said lowly. Sister Sarai and the others stared at them, still stunned by what they just heard. 'A bracelet having three diamonds was the simplest thing, and everything else below this was nonsense as a gift?'
Most couldn't believe it, not even on the slightest because it was hard to believe. While others were thinking about the bracelet, sister Sarai was thinking something different, 'Huno had a wife? For real and he is actually laughing and smiling, I'm so glad, him leaving was a good idea,' she thought to herself. 'Mother in law? Mother-in-law,' Luna called, pulling her back to reality.
She blinked and looked at Luna, whose face was close to her. She coughed and hugged Luna, 'thank you for making him happy, I am sincerely grateful,' she said. Huno smiled as Luna hugged her back and said, 'I'll do anything to make him happy mother-in-law, he is very important to me and I hold him so dearly,'
The others blinked and looked at Huno who was looking at the two hugging as if they've known forever. After a long while, sister Sarai disengaged from the hug and smiled at her. 'Dear, don't call me mother-in-law okay, it isn't appropriate because of my position, just call me sister Sarai. And I can't accept this, I'll love to since it came from you but if I do, it will endanger my life,' sister Sarai said.
'I understand, but I can't stop calling you mother-in-law, if possible I'll love to call you mother,' Luna said. Huno placed his hand on her head and rubbed as he said, 'just listen, dear,'
'Sweetie, you are treating me like a little kid again,' Luna said lowly. 'Uh? I thought you said you liked it?' Huno laughed and said. 'I do, but it's embarrassing in front of people,' Luna pouted and said.
Huno laughed and didn't stop, and Luna continued to pout. 'Leave her alone,' sister Sarai said and pulled Luna into her arms.
'You treated Mia the same way and laughed, hmm,' sister Sarai said and brushed Luna's hair with her hand. Huno's laugh came to a stop as she added, 'it's not good to embarrass pretty girls,'
She looked at him and finally noticed Huno was quiet as he stared at a spot in the compound. It was where he and Mia sat to rest and stare at the cloud after working. 'Huno I'm so sorry I didn't mean to...,' sister Sarai apologized immediately. 'Are you good?' Luna asked, rubbing his head. 'I'm good, now who is treating who like a kid?' Huno asked and held her hand. Luna brought out her tongue and giggled.
Other sisters stepped out, among them there was an old looking lady. When they got close, Luna greeted, 'I have seen the elders,'. 'Good evening sisters, it's been a long time, I apologize for making you worry,' Huno said.
'It really is you,'
'Where have you been?'
'How have you been?'
'Naughty boy, you made us worry, sister Sarai was really worried sick you know, even if you leave a letter it's not okay,'
'You made us panic,'
'Come on, how have you been?'
