Entrenched above the Earth, at night, the Lunaette began to reflect a faint white light, like a vast artificial celestial entity.
It had been a long time since the moon had changed from a sphere into a flat cake.
Once upon a time, many might have found this unacceptable.
Those beautiful ancient poems that sung praises of the beauty of the moon, had now truly become swan-songs; whilst the moon had officially entered the museum that was the history of humankind.
However, as time passed, many soon discovered this to be all that it was.
