章節 5: Boosting Combat Capability
Asuma's eyes widened as he looked up at Kira who was animatedly talking about the power of friendship. A second later, he grabbed the paper and shoved it into his mouth before swallowing it whole.
'A ninja must always erase evidence.' he thought as he was about to dig into Kira's bento when their bento's were swapped again. Contrary to his expectations, it wasn't Kira, but Kurenai instead.
"Wh- what? Why?"
Kurenai cutely tilted her head as if asking what was wrong with him, "Hm? As friends, we should share bento right? Isn't that what Kira just said?"
Asuma blindly nodded as he turned to look at the bento in front of him. The partially eaten bento from kurenai made his cheeks flush, but Kira's expression was not great.
'I gave you a great chance, but at the end, you give her my bento... are you dumb bro? I'm playing the cupid here, not you.'
Just before Kurenai could grab the rice from his bento, Kira quickly took his bento back before giving her Asuma's.
'Fuck, this is cringe but I have no choice.' he cursed as he gave her an unpleasant look.
"I don't like his bento so I'll stick to mine. My grandpa's bento is the best after a-"
Just as he was about to finish his sentence, a kunai fell onto the table right in front of his bento.
The white haired, masked guy looked at Kira and said, "Fight me."

A few minutes later, Kira and Kakashi stood in the training grounds while their classmates watched from the sides.
"The son of konoha's white fang, it's an honor to fight you." Kira declared as he pointed at the masked kid in front of him, making the girls squeal.
Kakashi, even though he didn't give a damn about those girls, couldn't help but smile when Kira showed his respect to his father.
"I hope you don't disappoint me." he said as he grabbed a kunai from the bag strapped to his waist.
Kira grinned, bringing Kakashi's hopes up before putting his hands in his pockets nonchalantly.
"I give up!"
"..."
"..."
"..."
Even though the crowd was disappointed, the one who was the most disappointed was Kakashi himself. Before he could say anything, Kira spoke.
"I respect your father too much. So much that I don't think I want to fight his kid. We can't be rivals! But we can be friends! Become my friend, Kakashi!" he declared, trying his best not to cringe at his own words, but he had to do it to keep himself safe from the upper powers.
He had to do it for the sake of his future, the first step to lay the foundation for himself so he could change the way he talked in the near future. After all, he was a proper adult and acting like a naive and optimistic child was tiring.
In the hokage office, an old man looked into a glass orb and nodded to himself, "This kid's will of fire is strong, but I want to see how capable he is..."
Even though he wanted to, there was no way he would go out of his way to arrange a fight with Kira. He wasn't Danzo who brought destruction to Konoha on purpose. He was just a coward who didn't know how to rule a village, but when it comes to being a teacher, he was one of the top few in Kira's list.
While Danzo actively brought upon destruction to people in Konoha, Hiruzen did it by not taking action, sitting passively in his office while things went south around him.
Back in the academy's training grounds, Kakashi silently went back to his classroom while Kira's "standing" fell in the eyes of his classmates slightly. Of course, this was only slightly. His looks were too good for the girls to completely give up on him, while the hatred burning in the boys' eyes was a sight to see.
'Welp, they can do whatever they want. I'll just focus on increasing my abilities for now. There is no point in fighting Kakashi at this moment.' he thought as he followed Kakashi back to the class.
The break soon ended and their sensei walked into the class. Benji drew a stick figure and then drew a circle at the center before he began explaining the concept of chakra and it's uses.
Even though Kira listened to the lesson, his mind still couldn't help but wander.
'A test in one month. To get the first place, I'll have to beat Kakashi but I don't have the confidence to do it with my current lacking talents...'
He had wood release, but he didn't wish to show it to anyone. As for his "cheat", the system, it would help him in the long run, but if he wanted to beat Kakashi in a fight, he would have to make preparations.
'The test doesn't forbid the use of kunai and shuriken, so I can't really do much... if it was just the theoretical exams, I could have easily gotten full marks.'
After thinking for a while, he invested 2 points into taijutsu, 3 points into ninjutsu, and 2 points into chakra control bringing them up to D, C and D grade respectively.
Taijutsu Talent: D
Ninjutsu Talent: C
Chakra Control Talent: D
'I can improve my physique's grade by one every year until it gets to SSS grade as long as I train everyday. As for the others, I'll have to make use of my knowledge of my system and get all the achievements that grant character points.
Yep, taijutsu, ninjutsu and chakra control are the best options for now. I still have time get more character points and once I do, I'll be able to upgrade my other talents too. For now, it's best to start out with those two if I want to improve my combat capability.'
