"This is something else. They evacuated. They abandoned the system."

Mira stared at him in disbelief. 

"You're telling me these Red Demons—ruthless, bloodthirsty monsters—just… ran away?" 

Her voice dripped with scepticism, but she knew Alex wasn't the type to make empty assumptions.

"Yeah, I guess so." 

She muttered, her tone deflating as she tried to process it.

An awkward silence hung between them, both of them still trying to wrap their minds around the sheer strangeness of the situation. 

Mira glanced back at the emptiness of the star system, her brow furrowing in confusion. 

Then, after a long pause, she scoffed lightly, a strange mix of amusement and disbelief crossing her face.

"Doesn't that mean we technically took this whole system back with just the two of us then?" 

She asked, her tone light but with an edge of bitterness.

Alex's lips pressed into a thin line, and he nodded.
