Once Justinian gave his concept to allow Diana to meet him Ves and Strakker began to lead him inside. They made sure to walk with Diana in the middle of them in case she tried anything. When she was like this, she focused on both Martians as they were both around 10 feet tall. Giants and the Power Armor just made them even more intimidating.
One of the reasons that White Martians didn't have a bigger impact in the setting was their low technology. With someone at the lead, like Justinian, they instantly became a deadly force.
Even the doors to the Embassy were built to accommodate large Martians like them. At first, she didn't know what to expect, but when she entered the Embassy she was instantly alarmed.
The building on the outside was a fairly normal place, but the moment she walked inside it expanded to a massive space. Inside the room were hundreds of Space Marines, some Tempestus Scions, and several more regiments of Psian Jackels.
More alarming with the Baneblades, Mastadons, Thunderbolts, and Valkyries, and even more unsettling were a few sleeping Predakons. These were not Justinian's pets, but taking the example, of Justinian's beloved pets, more Bioships had evolved to match the superior combat form.
When Ves and Strakker entered this large room, everyone turned their eyes to look at Diana. She didn't let it bother her as another Power Armor-wearing Martian approached. This one Power Armor seemed lighter than the Space Marines and covered in even more enchantments.
In his arms, he had a Force Staff before he turned to Diana.
"The Emperor awaits you, come."
Ves and Straker nodded at the War Shaper the equivalent of their Librarians before they moved to return to their posts. This time, the Shaper led Diana to the Portal at the end of the room that was currently turned on.
Before they stepped through, the Shaper tossed her a mask which she caught.
"Put it on, you don't want to choke, hehehe."
"Charming."
She placed the mask on before she stepped through the portal alongside the Shaper. When she did, she was instantly hit by what felt like a wave of mana as the Leylines continued to pump magic through the planet.
There was also the natural psychic energy flowing through the planet, which felt odd to her. When she got her barrings, she began to look around as they had teleported into Cadia, the Underground capital of The Imperium.
"Welcome to Cadia."
When she looked around, she could see as if it was day and the cause was a massive golden pyramid. It towered high in the Underground and the pressure she could feel from that place made her feel uneasy.
"What is that?"
"That is where the Emperor lives, of course, he has said it is just a temporary arrangement. Though I think you refer to the pressure, that would be the Crystal Throne, the center of Mars' Psychic Net amplified by the Emperor's Divinity."
Diana turned to him.
"Do you believe he is a god?"
The moment she said that every Martian walking in the street turned to look at her. They were all dressed and had shape-shifted to appear as humans. Though giant humans depending on their Cast as their sizes changed.
"I would not ask that question when Inquisitors are around. Though, to answer your previous question, do I believe The Emperor is a god? No, I know he is."
With that out of the day, The Shaper led her through Cadia City toward the Pyramid. Much like before, but on a larger scale, all the buildings were no longer made of stone or carved into the ground.
They were properly high-tech constructions that dotted the land. Most of the buildings had space expansion spells placed meaning a Hive City could in theory be placed in the space of a regular-sized house.
Diana as they moved could not help but take in the sights. Throughout the city, large forces of Space Marines marched, followed by Tempestus Scions, and even the Psian Jackels.
She even saw what appeared to be large insects that took many forms.
"What are those things?"
"They used to be our livestock, but they evolved under the magical blessing of our god. Now, we refer to them as Insectoids. A fascinating species."
As for the regular citizens, they all had work unless the women were on maternity leave or the men were on paternity leave. Justinian offered both because children regardless of species needed both parents involved.
When they finally made it to the Pyramid, it seemed to lack guards. The steps up to the top were wide open without a single guard.
"Does he have no guards?"
"The Emperor does, 50 of the most powerful of our kind, but if I am being honest, he doesn't need them. Come."
Diana followed the Shaper up the steps to get to Justinian's Throne Room. He had been busy renovating the space and his Throne Room had been expanded several times so his pet Predakons could stay by his side.
Though, the closer Diana rose to Justinina the more she began to feel presued. She knew instantly the claim that Justinian had become a god was fact. She could just tell as she had met gods before.
However, something felt odd about Justinian's Divinity. It felt unusually potent and even from this distance, she could feel it. She clenched her fist as they made it to the top which was closed off by an enchanted Auramite gate.
The Shaper tapped on the gate with his staff which caused the gate to begin to spin. The enchantments began to activate as the gears and pistons inside the giant gate spun before the gate split open.
When that happened, a tidal wave of power erupted from Justinian's Throne Room. Diana closed her eyes before opening them and forcing herself to walk forward. When she entered the Throne Room, she didn't focus on Justinian's Honor Guard.
Not on Remnosh or Lauralina who were standing at the sides of his Throne. Not the five giant Predakons that were curled up around the giant Crystal Throne. Not even the Throne itself even though it surged with Psychic and Conceptual Divine Energy.
Her eyes were locked onto the eyes of her friend Justinian. They were glowing a bright gold like burning divine suns, only split down the middle by a glowing purple slit like a dragon.
His dark Shadowstalker Armor seemed to have changed slightly, thickening in some places, with the plates becoming even more streamlined. Justinian's helmet was on his lap with him looking at her.
As for his Guardian Spear, that giant spear was floating next to his Throne covered in magic runes.
"Diana, welcome."
Diana walked forward until she was near his Throne, but still a respectful distance from him. The 50 giant Martian bodyguards that Justinian called his Honor Guard were looking right at her.
All of them were wearing helmets concealing their faces. Their hands rested near their weapons as they would kill her if she even reached for her sword. While Diana was here, Ddraig and Albion were already on Earth.
They were currently in their human forms as they were secretly moving toward Themyscira to attack it. They would get that Mother Box for their friend one way or another and the total extinction of the Amazons would be a small price to pay for that.
Though right now, Diana was just focused on her friend. As for Justinian, he looked at Diana before speaking.
"I believe I know why you are here, but I will let you ask the questions. I will answer honestly, I owe you that much for your friendship."
Diana sighed as she asked what she wanted to know.
"Did you do it?"
Justinian raised one of his eyebrows.
"Do what?"
"I am asking did you attack Arkahm, Blackgate, and Cadmus? I won't even ask what you are doing in those countries where you have been allowed to stage your army. Batman told me you uploaded a virus to his computer, what was it?"
Justinian took a moment to think before speaking.
"I will answer this, yes I did order those places raided. Ad for the Virus I uploaded to the Bat Computer, it is a virus from my time called the Obliterator Virus. It is a mix of virus, technology, and magic."
Diana sighed as she heard that.
"Why?"
"I needed the inmates in those places."
"What about the people who worked there?"
Justinian leaned back.
"You can take them back, I do not need for them. When you return to Earth, everyone shall return."
Though the people killed had been replaced with clones with all their memories. They would not even know they were clones ever. Hearing that he would return the people he captured made Diana a little less angry, but now she asked the question she wanted to know.
"I need to know this, what are you going to do with our planet?"
As Justinian rested his chin on his knuckle, he spoke.
"Take over, it is mine at the end of the day. Though, I can wait. You have until 2025, that is 22 years. In 22 years I am coming for what is rightfully mine. The heart and birthplace of humanity. My home."
Diana looked up at Justinian, not with an expression of judging, but more so disappointment.
"Why do you think Earth is rightfully yours?"
Justinian thought about that for a time. When he first came to this world, he was just a guy with the memories of four Custodes. Now, he had relived those memories many times over and he no longer just 'had' those memories, they were his memories.
He had lived through 40,000 years of carnage and war in four Countries many times. He knew the Emperor, he knew Malcador, The Primarchs, and more. He was at Ulanor, he was in the Webway.
He owed it to himself, to Justinian, Arcadius, Trajaan, and Constantine so the Emperor's dream wasn't a failure.
"Because it is my duty to Mankind and The Emperor. I am all that is left and as long as I still draw breath, I will keep that oath."
Diana could feel the conviction he had, but just as she was going to ask something Diana began to shake as she touched her head. Hermes, her half-brother normally would have traveled to her side to warn her, but Justinian was here.
He would without hesitation attack him so Hermes used telepathy to warn Diana.
'DIANA! DRAGONS ARE ATTACKING THEMYSCIRA!'
When she heard that Diana began as she looked up at Justinian.
"You."
Justinian sat up on his throne.
"Me what?"
"Is this your idea, attacking Themyscira while I am on Mars?"
"Of course not, my dragons are still sealed with me."
Justinian raised his left arm where his Stormbolter and the Boosted Gear were.
[We have not met, but I am one of the dragons Justinian was tasked to keep sealed.]
{I am here too.}
While Ddraig and Albion had created Avatars, they were Dragon Gods. They could still split their focus to speak to Justinian and anyone else. Diana turned around as she saw that.
"I need to go, I need to save Themyscira."
Justinian stood up for his throne which caused his Honor Guard to move with him.
"Fine, I might as well go to help you."
Diana shook her head.
"Men can't go to Themyscira."
"I am a god, not a mere man. Do you want to go through the D.C. portal or do you prefer I just teleport you?"
Diana relented.
"Please, help me."
Justinian held his hand out and pulled his Guardian Spear into his right hand. He slammed it onto the ground and teleported his 50 Burning Martians, Diana, and himself to Themysceria.
The magic wards of Themysceria could not keep it hidden from him so he found it. He teleported to one of the beaches, but even from there the giant forms of Ddraig and Albion were visible.
They looked very different as Ddraig was a two-headed dragon covered in pitch-black scales with a layer of spikes running down his back. As for Albion, he was a bright green with purple scales around his head and neck in a sickly color.
On their heads was the emblem of Apokalips to place blame on Darkseid. Albion seemed about to die from the disease, but he made it work. Both are over 100 meters in size, Ddraig took a deep breath with both heads before he released a blast of dark black fire. Albion did something similar, but when he released his breath, it was a toxic flame that combined with Ddraig's creating a toxic mixture.
Ddraig began to walk forward as the Amazons on horseback rode out yelling and shooting their bows.
"INSECTS! BAYLE THE DREAD WILL TEAR YOU APART! FOR LORD DARKSEID!"
Albion didn't speak as he flew in the air. Diana didn't wait at all before she took off flying toward Ddraig who was calling himself Bayle The Dread. Justinian smiled as he saw that.
"Remnosh, look for a chance to steal the Mother Box. The rest of you pretend to try to keep death low. I will 'slow' him down."
Since his Honor Guard were in on this, they knew what to do. With her orders, Remnosh ran off before she turned into a stream of Shadows. Justinian on some level felt bad for Diana, but not enough to not do this.
He flew off into the sky toward the avatar of Albion.
'Sorry about this, Albion. I have to make it look real.'
{You're in luck, these Avatars have no pain receptors. We can't feel pain.}
'Even better, Ddraig, give Diana a beating if you want. Sink this island if you have to.'
[HAHAHA, WHO IS DDRAIG? I AM BAYLE! CONSIDER IT DONE!]
Ddraig and Albion were having a blast and they were going to enjoy it.
