After the graduation tests, an air of excitement and nervousness filled the classroom.
Against all odds, all the students in Class A had passed both the theoretical and practical exams, officially becoming Genin.
Kuri showed an ironic smile at this, his feelings divided between pride for his students and concern for their future in times of war.
Once Kuri announced the formation of the squads and left, the classroom was filled with excitement.
Chen, Kushina, and Mikoto found themselves on the same team, a coincidence that did not go unnoticed by Kuri.
Kushina, playfully leaning on Chen's back, asked with a mischievous smile, "Hey, Chen, who do you think our instructor will be?"
Chen calmly replied, "I'm not a prophet, Kushina. I can't know."
"You're so boring!" Kushina complained, pouting. "Come on, try to guess!"
"I only know a few Jōnin," Chen explained. "Tsunade, Orochimaru, Jiraiya... I can't know who our leader will be."
Mikoto, who had been listening in silence, interjected, "Maybe it's Tsunade-san."
Chen muttered softly, "It's a coincidence that we're on the same squad. Besides, Tsunade has never been an instructor..."
Just then, the classroom door burst open, revealing a stern-looking Tsunade. "Are you dissatisfied with me being your Jōnin instructor, Chen?" she asked, her eyes narrowed.
Before Chen could respond, Nawaki jumped up from his seat in surprise. "Huh? Can you really be a squad leader, big sister?" he asked incredulously.
Tsunade's face darkened, a vein pulsing on her forehead. "Nawaki!" she roared, raising her fist menacingly. "I've told you a thousand times not to call me that!"
Seeing her like this, Nawaki backed away with a nervous laugh. "Sorry, sorry, Tsunade-sensei," he quickly corrected himself.
Tsunade, glaring at him, addressed Chen, Kushina, and Mikoto. "You three, follow me," she ordered, leaving the classroom.
Chen shrugged, addressing his teammates. "Well, it seems Mikoto was right. Let's go."
As they left, Nawaki couldn't resist one last comment. "Good luck with my sister as your instructor!" he shouted, laughing. "She's completely crazy!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a stone came flying from outside the classroom, hitting Nawaki on the forehead and knocking him down.
Tsunade's threatening voice echoed from outside, "IF YOU DARE TO SAY MORE NONSENSE, YOU'LL HAVE TO DEAL WITH ME, LITTLE BROTHER!"
All his classmates looked at Nawaki with sympathy and amusement as he rubbed the bump on his head, muttering something about overly sensitive older sisters.
….
The Konoha training ground stretched out before them. Tsunade stopped and turned to face her new students.
"Well, we don't need formal introductions," she said with a confident smile. "I want to see what you're capable of. Let's have a little sparring match."
Kushina stepped forward, her eyes shining with determination. "Alright! But be careful, Tsunade-sensei," she warned with a challenging smile.
Tsunade chuckled softly. "We'll see if you can back up those words, Kushina."
Without warning, Kushina activated her technique. "Kongō Fūsa!" she shouted, and five golden chakra chains emerged from her back, snaking towards Tsunade quickly.
Tsunade, surprised by the speed of the attack, barely had time to react.
Four of the chains surrounded her, blocking her escape, while the fifth headed straight for her like a whip.
"Mikoto, now!" Kushina yelled. "Chen, don't intervene!"
Chen, with an amused smile, jumped onto a nearby tree to observe. "As you wish," he murmured.
Mikoto, taking advantage of the distraction, formed hand seals at an impressive speed. "Katōn: Karyū Endan!"
A powerful flame erupted from her mouth, heading towards Tsunade from the opposite side of Kushina's chains.
Caught between the fire and the chains, Tsunade realized she had gravely underestimated her students.
With a fluid motion, she launched a kick that compressed the air, momentarily deflecting Kushina's chains.
"Water Barrier!" she exclaimed, creating a liquid wall that blocked Mikoto's flames.
But Kushina and Mikoto didn't stop.
Working in perfect sync, Kushina maintained pressure with her chains while Mikoto alternated between fire jutsus and genjutsu, keeping Tsunade constantly off-balance.
It was then that Tsunade saw it: the three-tomoe Sharingan shining in Mikoto's eyes.
"Impossible!" she gasped. "The fully developed Sharingan before the age of ten!"
Tsunade's mind was racing. She had never heard of such a feat, not even in the legends of the Uchiha clan. If Mikoto were to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan...
"Enough!" Tsunade shouted, raising a hand. Kushina and Mikoto stopped instantly, panting but with satisfied smiles on their faces.
Tsunade looked at them with amazement and pride. "You two... have the best talent I've seen in my life. Even I can't match you at your age."
Mikoto, with a modest smile, pointed to the tree where Chen was observing. "Chen is much better than us, Tsunade-sensei."
Tsunade looked at Chen, who nimbly jumped from the tree to join them. "You... are not normal," she said, not knowing if it was a compliment or an accusation.
Chen, now half a head taller than Tsunade, smiled enigmatically at her. "Is that a compliment, or are you mocking me, sensei?"
Tsunade turned her head, avoiding his gaze. "Take it however you want."
After a moment of silence, Tsunade continued, "The truth is, I don't have much to teach you at the moment. You have the strength; you only lack experience, and that's something even I can't directly help you with."
With a sigh, Tsunade realized that her role as a Jōnin instructor would be more that of a guide than a traditional teacher. Her task would be to provide opportunities for these young people to gain the experience they needed.
