"Fuck it, I don't even care anymore," Orion muttered under his breath. He didn't want to think about it any longer. He already had a terrible headache and was dead tired.
"So, Merlin is your master? Great.
Welcome to the fucked-up life club. Glad to see there are more like me." Sarcasm dripped from his words.
Hearing this, Eric didn't understand the deeper meaning behind Orion's comment. He just chuckled, attributing it to the generational gap. But then what Orion said next almost made him choke.
"I was kind of his student. Kind of. I can understand your situation a little bit now. Did he demand that you cut off your junk too?" Orion suddenly sympathized with Eric for some reason, leaving Eric baffled and confused. But when he realized what Orion had said, he couldn't believe it.
"What are you talking about?" Eric asked immediately, his tone emotionless, half-convinced that Orion was talking nonsense.
"Exactly what you heard. That old man Merlin taught me as well. Surprise—you're not the only one who's fucked.
In fact, I'm trying to find a way to bring him back from another dimension right now. That's why I came here in the first place," Orion said, ignoring the ridiculous look on Eric's face.
"Child, do you understand what you're talking about? The man you're talking about has been dead for a long time," Eric replied calmly.
'And what the hell was that about cutting the junk?'
Orion shook his head, "Yes, in a way he is dead. But he didn't die completely. He was able to preserve his memories, which I got through this pendant here." Orion replied, not caring much about revealing his secret to the picture. Who else could this picture tell, anyway? Not to mention, he was the only one who could enter this place or even know about it in the first place.
As for Eric being Merlin's student, well, Orion only half-believed it. He still planned to ask many questions to verify Eric's claims.
Hearing what Orion said, Eric in the picture looked both confused and disbelieving.
"Do you even understand what you're talking about? You're saying that he put his memories inside a pendant, which you just randomly found, and then he decided to teach you.
For a second, I might have believed you're Morgana's illegitimate child, but this..." Eric raised his eyebrows and looked at Orion with a consolatory look.
The look alone was enough to let Orion know that the man didn't believe him. That statement regarding a 1000-year-old witch being his mother was completely unnecessary.
"Whatever, dude. I learned from Merlin. You can ask any question you like; he will tell you about himself. Though again, that's not important right now. But I have a feeling that until I make you believe, you're not going to explain your entire story, right?
Go on, ask any question you have," Orion yawned again, his eyes barely staying open. And more than anything, he couldn't use magic here to stay awake anymore.
In the past, he used to do this a lot, but now doing so would just increase his headache. So no, he'd rather just sleep and talk to the picture tomorrow.
Eric looked suspicious, but he ended up asking many questions to Orion anyway.
It turns out that Orion pretty much got the entire story and teachings of Merlin on the spot, but he completely missed the mark when it came to Merlin's personality.
To Orion, Merlin was a powerful but goofy grandpa who, thanks to his existence, had turned into an otaku.
But according to Eric, Merlin could be anything but that. He was a serious and stern man with extreme focus and drive.
Even Orion himself couldn't believe this, honestly. But hey, the man knew Merlin a thousand years ago. 1000 years is enough to change anyone, even if that person was the greatest wizard of all time.
"Whatever, brother. You see, I got most of the story right. Just tell me already what you're hiding. As you already know, I'm in no mood to waste time right now. Either tell me, or I'll burn you like I did to your body and then extract those answers from your ashes with magic." Orion was really tired, but now the picture was making him angry—so much so that he just wanted to blast the cursed picture until it burned.
Hearing this, the picture went silent, feeling a little helpless about the situation. But then, suddenly, Eric recalled what Orion had said earlier, and his eyes widened.
"What do you mean by you burned my body?" he asked suddenly, almost alarmed by what the boy had told him.
