In front of him was a mature woman — a sleek and strong specimen of feminine perfection with platinum blonde hair, fair white skin and beautiful sapphire eyes.
She had an hourglass figure, 34D-24-34. 5'6'' tall, long legs, perky round butt. She wore a beautiful embroidered one-piece dress which covered her completely from neck to heels and she also had an elegant blue gem studded necklace.
Her attire, and the way she carried herself despite being emotionally overwhelmed, gave her a hint of noble air.
Arthur quickly peeled his eyes off of her figure, sweating slightly. From how she behaved and called him son, she must be his mother, meaning she knew him well and if she had noticed his stunned gaze roaming over her, she would surely suspect something. Her son wouldn't look at her with those eyes, after all.
Sure enough, she briefly frowned. Fortunately for him, Alice stepped forward at this instant and bowed to her, "Greetings, aunt. I hope you have been well."
Sighing in relief, he glanced at her information.
[Name: Grace Cheryse]
[Level: ????}
[Cultivation: ????}
[Health: ????}
[Relationship: Mother]
[Status: Worried, anxious, angry, depressed.]
'Mm? Why question marks? Is it because she is way stronger than me?' Arthur thought. He had enough knowledge about games to realize this.
'She is really my or it would be more appropriate to say the 'late' Arthur's mother. And I can see her status too? I remember I couldn't see Alice or others' status.' He thought before checking Alice's status and sure enough, there wasn't the status option.
'Maybe it's because she is my mother?' He thought before his brows knitted in a light, worried frown, which even he didn't notice.
'Now, she should be worried about me and maybe anxious too, especially after seeing me look at her as though I saw her for the first time. But why is she angry and depressed too?'
"Ah! Alice. It's you?" His mother, Grace, asked.
"Yes, aunt. It's me." Alice smiled sweetly at her.
Whoosh!
In response, Grace suddenly appeared in front of her and pulled her into a hug.
"Thank you, Alice, for bringing my son back. Thank you so much. You don't know how worried I was. I looked everywhere but couldn't find him."
The guards frowned when they saw her hugging Alice. A member of the Dragonheart family being so intimate with a Rosewood wasn't a good thing. But they remained silent, as it wasn't the place to comment on it.
They also didn't have to because a sarcastic voice soon sounded out from with the family compounds.
"Hey, isn't that patriarch's third wife? Why is she hugging someone from the Rosewood family? Doesn't she know she could be punished for this?"
In response, a crisp female voice sounded, "Do you really think the family's rule applies to her or son?"
Arthur looked at the source of the voices and saw a young boy and a girl, no older than 16 years old, walking toward them.
Both wore golden embroidered clothes and were quite good looking. They however, however, wore mocking expressions and their eyes flashed with a crafty, poisonous glint, ruining their image.
"They don't?" The boy asked, seeming confused.
"Of course. If they did, her son would have been punished by now for befriending a Rosewood scum. But has he?" the young girl said, casting a hateful glance at Alice.
"Yeah. You are right about that. Sigh! We can't do anything about it. Patriarch is just too biased." The boy sighed a disappointed sigh.
Grace stopped hugging Alice and looked at the duo with an indifferent gaze. "Have the two of you finished your act yet or is something still remaining?"
The duo shuddered and instinctively took a step back.
"W-What do you mean act? We were stating facts." The young lady said, stuttering.
Grace didn't say anything before turning to Arthur and asked, "Son, tell me. Where were you and why are you so pale, did someone do something to you?"
At her question, Arthur winced slightly. However, he wasn't the only one. The boy also did the same, looking at Arthur in fear.
"L-Let's go." He said, grabbing his sister's hand, wanting to walk away.
However, before they could even take a step,
Boom!
A powerful gust of energy erupted out of Grace, pressing down upon them as she said, "Stay where you are."
Just then, another voice sounded, full of scorn, "Aren't you being a little too overbearing, third lady?"
Whoosh!
Along with the voice, a beautiful and seductive woman in a luxurious violent clothing appeared in front of the duo. She then elegantly waved her hand, immediately dispelling Grace's energy, making the duo sigh in relief.
They stood behind, seemingly afraid. The girl young girl pointed at Grace, her hand quivering, "Mother, third aunt is really too much. Brother and I were only talking amongst ourselves, but she got angry. If you hadn't come on time, maybe she would've killed us."
Grace acted as if she didn't hear the woman and continue to look at Arthur, who gulped nervously and said, "I was in the forest outside the city."
The woman in the violet dress narrowed her eyes at her disregard before a mocking smile appeared on her face.
"What were you doing there?" Grace frowned, and Arthur could feel her becoming angrier. However, her anger wasn't directed at him.
"I don't know." He said, lowering his head. He didn't want to say something that might make arouse her suspicion.
"What do you mean? How can you not know?" Grace asked in confusion.
Alice spoke up at this moment, proving to be his saviour once again. "Aunt, I don't know why, but big brother Arthur has lost his memories."
Boom!
Grace felt her an explosion go off in her mind and her gaze became vacant for a moment.
The boy behind the woman in violet sighed in relief. The woman, however, scanned Arthur to see if this was really the case and when she saw he wasn't acting like before, she also sighed in relief.
She then grabbed her children's hands and laughed merrily, "Third lady, I see you have some things to deal with, so I'll take my leave. Haha."
Whoosh!
Laughing, she rushed inside, her figure disappearing a moment later.
Her laughter broke Grace out of her trance and she hurriedly grabbed Arthur's shoulders and asked, tears welling up in her beautiful eyes, "I-Is that true, son? Did you really lose your memories? Can you recognise me?"
Arthur sighed and nodded. "Yes. I really lost my memories. I can't recall anything about my past." When he saw how heartbroken Grace looked at his confession, he hurried to say,
"However… when I saw you, I could tell you were someone very close to me." He hoped this would make her feel a little better, at least. And he wasn't really lying because some familiar feeling had welled up in his heart when he saw her.
