Isabelle's gaze fell on her wrist that was grabbed, then she looked up at Albert, frowning inquiringly, "Is there something else?"
"Sorry." Albert awkwardly released Isabelle's hand and honestly said, "I want to learn Legilimency."
"I remember our agreement was that I would teach you the Brain-Closing Charm," Isabelle said, not in a hurry to leave after Albert let go of her hand.
"In fact, I have already taught you, and you have already learned the Brain-Closing Charm, haven't you?" Isabelle stared at Albert and asked, "Or do you think the tuition is too expensive?"
"Okay, I admit I was being greedy. However, the opportunity is rare, and I don't want to give up the chance to learn Legilimency. I can give you another sum of Galleons, or..." Albert was originally going to say, "owe you a favor." However, this concept of favor wasn't popular in Europe, so he refrained from mentioning it.
"Or what?" Isabelle asked curiously. After Albert mastered the Brain-Closing Charm, she couldn't read his thoughts anymore.
Honestly, the fact that Albert could master the Brain-Closing Charm in such a short time was incredibly shocking to Isabelle.
"Maybe, this is what they call a genius!" Isabelle sighed, and a ridiculous idea suddenly surfaced in her mind.
"Huh?" Isabelle's expression instantly became strange. Could it be that this guy already knew the Brain-Closing Charm beforehand?
Although it was not impossible, what was his intention in doing so?
Isabelle couldn't help but think in a certain direction, and her gaze at Albert became even more peculiar.
Though Albert was the same grade as her younger sister, Katrina, Isabelle could tell that his thinking and ideas were already quite mature.
It's not impossible that he might have some other thoughts.
"Do you want me to teach you Legilimency?" Isabelle asked.
"Well, I've already mastered the Brain-Closing Charm. Learning Legilimency shouldn't be too difficult," Albert's expression suddenly became a bit stiff. He couldn't help it; the way Isabelle had just looked at him was... weird.
"January 13th, my birthday," Isabelle agreed.
"January 13th? Got it." Albert took out a notebook from his pocket and wrote down Isabelle's birthday, intending to prepare a birthday gift for her as compensation for teaching him Legilimency.
But... it had to be a birthday gift.
When Albert put away the notebook, a certain possibility suddenly came to mind. Could it be... His expression also became strange, and he discreetly raised his head, coincidentally meeting Isabelle's gaze.
The next second, the atmosphere around them became very awkward.
It wasn't just Albert; Isabelle's face also clearly showed discomfort.
Well, it seemed like a misunderstanding... right?
Now, should he... Well, honestly, Albert didn't have any other special thoughts. Although Isabelle did fit his aesthetic preferences.
"Cough cough!" Isabelle lightly cleared her throat, taking the initiative to break the awkward atmosphere around them.
"There is a point you are right about; the Brain-Closing Charm and Legilimency are actually connected," Isabelle began to change the topic, "Since you've already learned the Brain-Closing Charm, learning Legilimency next should indeed become easier."
"Right," Albert responded casually, indicating that Isabelle should continue. He was also relieved now; the situation was just too awkward a moment ago.
Isabelle began to recall the books she had read related to Legilimency, summarizing the contents briefly. She started explaining the key knowledge of Legilimency to Albert, along with her own experiences.
In truth, Legilimency was a profound form of magic that many wizards never encountered throughout their lives. This was partly due to the intentional concealment of certain spells by the Ministry of Magic. Some spells were deliberately monopolized, and if one didn't actively seek them out, they wouldn't even know of their existence.
Albert understood the reason behind this. If everyone learned Legilimency, the entire wizarding world would likely fall into chaos. It would be like if everyone carried guns; accidents would happen easily.
After spending a long time explaining the key points, spells, and wand movements, Isabelle looked at Albert's eyes and said, "You only have one chance. Whether you succeed or not, our deal ends here."
"Okay, got it!" Albert raised his wand with delight and reminded, "Let's begin. Three, two, one, Legilimency!"
As Albert used Legilimency on Isabelle, his mind suddenly filled with a strange memory—a part of Isabelle's memories from her childhood with her younger sister, Katrina.
Within a few seconds, Albert could feel Isabelle resisting his intrusion. The scenes in front of him were gradually fading away. When his consciousness was entirely pushed out, Albert saw Isabelle being led by a woman. They were standing by a graveyard, and he also saw Moeg Macdougal and Ronald Smith. However, Ronald Smith's expression seemed peculiar?
Albert suddenly opened his eyes and noticed that Isabelle's breathing was a bit rapid.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
Isabelle took a deep breath and finally opened her eyes, saying to Albert, "We're done with our agreement."
"Yes, it's over!" Albert nodded. He stood up and extended his hand towards Isabelle. "Thank you today. I've gained a lot. Perhaps you should consider becoming a professor."
"I don't think all students are like you," Isabelle shook hands with Albert, self-deprecatingly.
"Even if you praise me like that, I won't tell you how to delay aging," Albert playfully said as he pulled Isabelle up from the cushion, smiling and winking at her.
Isabelle's face twitched slightly as she looked away and avoided direct eye contact with Albert.
"This guy is really annoying!" Isabelle muttered, knowing that Albert was planning to try Legilimency on her.
In a moment, Albert whispered, "Failed, huh. I guess I need to maintain direct eye contact with the other person."
Albert's failure made Isabelle's mood even better.
As two wizards with exceptional talents, even though Isabelle felt that she might not be as good as Albert in some aspects, she didn't want the distance between them to be too great.
After leaving Classroom 17, Albert thanked Isabelle again.
"You've paid the tuition," Isabelle didn't know how important mastering Legilimency and the Brain-Closing Charm were for Albert.
When they reached the intersection on the sixth floor and parted ways, Albert suddenly asked, "By the way, I almost forgot to ask, is that thing useful?"
