The Bone Mountains were a marvel, stretching up into the sky as if they held up the very heavens themselves, they were the tallest mountains in the known world, some believed that the gods placed them there to protect them from the heretics in the further east of Essos, while some believe it was there to stop the creatures of the Grey waste from overrunning the world before the Five Forts were built.
Jon didn't believe any of that, they were mountains and that's about as far as he thought, though they were very large and the routes that could hold an army were limited, at the moment they were on the Stone Road headed for Samyriana. Jon was hopeful that they would be allowed to pass unimpeded but with how disastrous the expedition had been so far he wasn't too hopeful he wouldn't be surprised if stone giants descended from the mountains and started throwing boulders at them, it would be more likely than them being allowed to pass with a wave and friendly word.
And while Jon would like to believe that it didn't involve him, the incompetence of the command at the moment made it so he had to get involved otherwise he'd find that all the men had to get gelded to pass while the women would get their nipples pierced. Something that Jon wasn't entirely against though he'd keep thoughts like that for later.
They had just set up camp on Stone Road, with Jon's camp being a noticeable distance away from Aegon's, however, they would be going to Samyriana together, he could imagine the leadership would be slightly nervous as an army had just appeared on their doorsteps. At the moment Jon was relaxing in a chair with Joanna nestled in his lap, for the entire time they had travelled to the Bone Mountains she had never left his side. Jon still believed that the scars of believing him dead ran deep, not that he minded, he could safely say that he loved Joanna more than anything in this world and he would spend as much time with her as she needed to heal.
Though some women were frustrated by the girl's constant presence in Jon's bed when he slept, Daenerys had been looking at him with eyes full of lust, love and obsession. She had liked him before but after saving her from a bad fate she loved him deeply, and if she wanted him inside her before then she was positively gasping for it now. But she waited, she knew Joanna would always take priority, though as soon as Jon had some alone time she would jump him.
"Always relish in these sights Joanna, it's one of the benefits of living a life of adventure, you see some truly extraordinary things" Jon said, since they were sat at the foot of the mountain when they looked up it seemed like the mountains went on forever.
Joanna looks to the mountain with a curious expression "Kepa... What do you think is at the top?"
Jon smiles when she asks him "That Joanna is the right question, and one day I'm sure you'll find out" he says as he pats her head gaining a smile from her.
Oberyn chose this moment to interrupt the two as he had been watching them for a few moments previously "Indeed, perhaps you will discover a new continent in the sky with people who sail on the sky like we do water"
Jon chuckles "There are strange things in this world so strange that it wouldn't surprise me"
"As much as I would not like to break up a father's time with his daughter, we shall be leaving soon to head to Samyriana, and we don't want Connington to be the one to lead the talks" he said with an amused smile. Jon nodded his head and stood up while putting Joanna down in front of him. Though she keeps a hold of his leg stopping him from going.
"Please let me come..." Joanna said in a quiet voice, Jon kneeled and rubs his hand through her hair.
"It might be dangerous, we do not know these people, you'll be kept here in camp where it's safe. Don't worry I'll be back soon, like always right?" He said as he kissed her on the forehead. She wipes her eyes but nods her head as she heads back into the tent behind them.

Aegon sat on his makeshift throne in the war room once again listening to his commanders fight amongst themselves, he had another sleepless night as he thought about the disaster this trip had been, he couldn't help but think about the moment when Jon had walked up to him after the last execution and grabbed his hands before wiping the blood on to them. While he didn't have the full responsibility for those 1,000 deaths he was partially responsible.
It was his decision that brought them out here where we were set upon by the Dothraki and he decided to only give Jon half their army, a choice he greatly regrets. He only wished for his family and House Targaryen to once again be a feared and respected House, but he couldn't do that if people saw him less as Aegon and more as Aenys.
He looked to the corner of the room seeing another source of stress, Gerold Dayne 'The Darkstar' He has been demanding that we cut off Jon and Jaimes's hands for attacking him and removing his hand. Aegon could understand his fury, he had lost his sword hand he went from being one of the most feared fighters in Dorne to barely being able to lose to Aegon, it can't feel good. However Aegon refused, Jon was his brother and he wouldn't allow any harm to befall him, all the things Jon has done can be linked back to mistakes Aegon has made, so he refuses to make them worse.
"Your grace? Your grace!" Jon Connington says firmly as all the commanders look at him.
Snapping out of his thoughts he sits up in his chair "Yes please, continue" Aegon states as he starts to pay attention to the meeting.
"I believe we should siege the city, it would give us a good foothold, for when we send an expedition into the great sand sea, we could also create a supply line" Jon reasoned however it got a sarcastic laugh from Harry Strickland the leader of the company.
"And how do you expect us to seize the city with such few men, we have no idea of the layout, we have not even seen behind its walls, and we only have access to half our army as The King's brother has usurped the other half" Harry stated with anger.
"Better we suffer the losses now than get attacked from behind, once we finish we sack the city and take any treasure to be found" Jon replies calmly.
It was at this point Aegon chimed in "Enough! We will send an envoy as planned, it could be we will have no choice but to siege the city, but let us see if we can avoid it first" Aegon states getting a bow from both men.
Jon then turns to Harry "Get a new guard for the King, one to replace Darkstar, Duck won't be able to do it by himself"
Darkstar got up from his chair "That will not be necessary Connington... I am perfectly capable of defending the King" he said his voice seething. His anger only serves to get worse as he hears a few men chuckle at his words.
Jon shakes his head "You are a weak man now, you've lost what made you special, get as good with your left and mayhaps things will be different" he states before leaving the tent abruptly ending the conversation.
'I swear vengeance upon all of you that have wronged me' Darkstar thought to himself as he clenched his one remaining fist.
———————————————————-
The atmosphere was tense as the two parties rode together, with Jon was Brienne and Oberyn, both due to their skill at arms and loyalty to Jon, he knew he could trust Brienne implicitly and he could trust Oberyn as well, he knew that as long as he kept his word about reviving Tyene that he would be on his side.
With Aegon rode Jon Connington as he seemed to be a parasite that they could not get rid of, as well as his only Kingsguard, Rolly Duckfield or Duck as they call him. There was also a nameless Golden company solider who replaced Darkstar as Aegon's guard.
They all rode down the stone road in silence as there was quite a bit of bad blood between them as of late, while Oberyn loved his nephew he could not stand by his side while the red-headed gryphon whispered into his ears, he stood with Jon as he knew that he would never kill or hurt his brother.
Oberyn couldn't help but be slightly disappointed with his nephew, he shared none of the fiery traits that his sister had nor the bravery his father showed, however, he was family and that meant he would do his best to help him even if that meant standing against him at times. He just hoped Connington would keep his mouth shut during these negotiations, he didn't need his volatile temper ruining things.
Aegon felt distressed at the situation at hand, he knew his brother had reason to be angry at him, he wished he had not made such a stupid mistake and had hoped by giving into his demands he would satiate his anger, but it seems to not have helped that much, it was as if his family was drifting further and further away from him and he did not know why "Jon it is good to see you, I'm glad you're in such good health" Aegon said trying to break the tension.
Jon looked at him with a blank expression before sighing "I am doing well, I sleep much better knowing I won't be killed in my sleep"
Aegon sighed "He will calm down I hope, he is not taking the loss of his hand well"
"It was a stupid thing to do boy, he was one of our best fighters and you made him useless, what good is he if he can't swing a sword," Connington said with annoyance in his voice.
Jon chuckles "Seems like an issue for your camp, he attacked Jaime Lannister to take both him and my daughter captive, on your orders I might add, so you should blame yourself"
Jon Connington grips his reigns in silent rage as he looks to the impetuous and disrespectful boy "Peace, please we have to meet with the Great fathers soon and it won't do for them to see us fighting amongst each other" Aegon stated trying to keep the peace.
Oberyn snorted at his nephew's comment "Wise words nephew but perhaps you should've left the rooster at home, all he seems to be able to do is make noise"
Jon Connington feels himself get even angrier but listens to his king's words 'Fucking Dornishman' he thought to himself as he rode onwards.
Brienne, while she felt a bit awkward riding couldn't be happier, in the months it took them to travel to the Bone Mountains she discovered she was pregnant, at first she thought it a mere mistake and that she had come down with some sort of sickness, but when she discovered that she no longer had her moonblood she knees it was true. She had thought that Jon accepting her would be the happiest moment of her life but it wasn't, it was discovered she was carrying his child, though she felt slight guilt that his wives had not borne him a son first, however, she was still overjoyed, however, she had not told Jon yet as she knees he would overreact and wouldn't allow her to guard him during their trip, something that he needed due to recent events.
She had a small bump but it was easily covered due to her large size and heavy clothes, though for a while she had noticed Rhaella looking at her strangely and a lot more often than she usually did. Though she hadn't said anything so Brienne thought she may have been just acting a bit paranoid.
After a while of riding, they finally came upon the city of Shamyriana, it was a huge city that was carved into the mountain a large stone wall encircled it but most of the city seemed to be built into the mountain with roads and platforms being carved into its side. At the top, there was a large fortress that lay on an overhang with large towers that were built atop. It was an amazing sight and a unique city that Jon had never seen the like.
Though for Oberyn it reminded him of Casterly Rock, the seat of House Lannister that was built into the large mountain, he couldn't help but see the parallels and even though this city may reach a bit taller than the Rock. They held up their flags to signify they had come to talk and they waited a good distance away, and by a good distance, they stayed out of archer fire.
"You all be silent, I will negotiate with the envoy they send," Connington said sternly as he looked at Jon and his group, they couldn't help but start laughing as the most volatile member of the group wanted to negotiate.
Oberyn found it the most amusing, however, "You? Negotiate? Perhaps we should give the job to my horse he seems to be better tempered than you are" Jon can't help but burst out into laughter at the jape, with even Brienne and Aegon cracking a smile.
"Enough! I used to be Hand of the King and will be once again, what experience does any of you have?" Connington shouts, they don't reply however as he seems to be acting a bit childish.
Jon would let him negotiate until he overstepped his boundaries, and then he would take control of the situation otherwise he didn't much care what they gave away. Though knowing the negotiator on his side he'd most certainly try to overstep his boundaries.
For a while, they sat on their horses until they saw the gate of the massive city open and an envoy come out to greet them, what they all noticed was that there was only one man upon them with a majority of them being women who were heavily armed. Oberyn especially noticed them as their breasts lay bare and their nipples were pierced their hair was tied behind their heads and some braided the sides, while some wore it short. Some wore rubies in their cheeks but not all of them, some wore other precious stones.
"I've never been this far east before, a whole new world of men and women to sample" Oberyn said much to Jon's amusement.
"I wouldn't try your luck with them Oberyn, they are much more likely to cut it off than to play with it, and the men you'll find are lacking in that area" Jon explains to him seemingly killing his enthusiasm.
"Often I forget how little fun you maesters are," Oberyn says with a huff.
"If I was a Maester I wouldn't be sweating my balls in the far east of Essos, I'd have a nice room in a castle where all I'd have to do is send ravens and treat poncy little lordlings when they scrap their knee" Jon replied with a sigh.
"Sounds boring"
"Probably cause it would be"
"Can you both shut up? They are almost here" Connington shouted quietly, both Jon and Oberyn held their hands up in surrender.
The frontman who seemed to be leading the envoy was tanned and had dark hair that went down to his lower back and was clean-shaven, he was quite attractive which didn't surprise Jon, if he were average or unattractive he'd most likely be following behind on foot.
"Greetings travellers, I am Hyreed, I am the Great Diplomat of the Great Fathers and I have come to ascertain your goals for coming to our great city" Hyreed stated in perfect common tongue, though he did sound a bit too formal.
"Well met, King Aegon VI of his name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men and Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the realm," Jon Connington says as he embellishes Aegon.
Hyreed however doesn't look so impressed "Forgive me traveller, but we were under the impression that it was Robert Baratheons son, Joffrey Baratheon who sits on the Iron Throne"
Connington grits his teeth "The Baratheons are nothing but Usurpers! Who took the throne from the rightful King" he says a little more heatedly than he did before.
Jon sighs 'It only took one sentence to anger him' he thinks to himself, Oberyn leans over to him in his saddle.
"Ah yes, the negotiator at work" he whispers causing Jon to stifle a laugh. However luckily for Connington, Aegon got involved before it could devolve.
"Whether I am King has no bearing on why I have come Great Diplomat, I wish to resupply and get permission to move my army across the stone road and into the great sand sea" Aegon states calmly.
Hyreed looks at him as if he is inspecting him "If I may ask, would you happen to be the blood of old Valyria?"
Aegon nods his head "I am a Targaryen, we are the only dragonlords to survive the doom"
Hyreed smiles, though most of the group can tell it isn't genuine the one a merchant gives his customer "Please, it would be an honour to host you at the main palace, there we can discuss your... needs" he said in a very accommodating manner.
'Perhaps he should've been an innkeeper' Jon thought to himself, he wasn't paying much attention to what was happening but when he looked up he noticed he'd drawn the attention of one of the guards, a woman who was tanned and had dark black hair that was braided at the side to the roots of her hair, she had what looked like diamonds pierced in her cheeks and her breasts were large, she was also thickly muscled similar to Brienne.
He couldn't help but sigh as he'd caught the attention of someone strange, he just wanted to find their damn magic sword so he could leave, he was half tempted to give Aegon 'Winter Weaver' if it meant he could leave.
Jon snaps out of his thoughts as the talks seem to have ended and the other envoy had turned their horses around expecting them to follow. Jon Connington whispers into the ear of the nameless soldier and he nods his head before riding his horse back down the stone road, no doubt to inform them of our partial success.
"I think while you all talk I'll find myself a pleasure house to stay in," Oberyn said with a smile as he rode his horse with the others towards the city.
Jon couldn't help but laugh "You are more likely to find a dragon inside than you are likely to find a brothel"
———————————————————-
As they rode through the city behind their escorts they got to see the inside for the first time, as expected most of the buildings and houses were made from stone as there was very little lumber around, but what surprised the men and women was that all the workers and labourers were men, they were all adorned in simple robes, nothing like the silk patterned robes that Hyreed wore, all the men around were docile and just continued with their work not even noticing the newcomers.
Oberyn shook his head at the sight "Life without a cock... I think I'd rather be dead"
Jon nodded his head in agreement "I think Tyene would be the one to kill me if I lost mine" he chuckled sadly at his joke, as did Oberyn.
"Life without a cock cannot be as bad as you say, women get along well enough without them" Brienne states with a raised eyebrow.
Oberyn and Jon look at her with pity, something that pisses her off a bit "If a woman ever experienced what it was like to have a cock and have it taken away she'd probably act like those men here" Oberyn explains.
Brienne just huffed and turns away focusing on riding, it was quite the sight, once they had started to ascend and went up the mountain, even high-up merchants still sold their goods, there was some diversity as well, Jon saw a few Dothraki as well as dark-skinned people that looked as if they were from the summer islands.
Eventually, they reached the highest level and were greeted with a gatehouse that seemed to guard the Great Fathers palace, it blocked access to the overhand which the palace was kept on, though one look at Hyreed and they were immediately let inside. The Palace was completely different to the city below, while the city was made out of the stone that could be gotten from the mountain, this place was made of polished white stone and had enough displaced earth to have numerous trees and bushes, it was as if this was a different place entirely.
In front of the palace was a large and long walkway, on either side it was surrounded by pools that stretched just as far as well as a large amount of greenery. They dismounted their horses beforehand and they were taken by one of the eunuchs that worked in the stables.
As they walked down the path to the palace Jon couldn't help but look at the sights, some of the trees and plants he had never seen before with large scaled fruit that looked like dragon eggs hanging from the tree, he didn't realise how much he had lagged until he saw how far ahead the group was. That was except for the woman who had been watching him since she had shown up with the envoy.
Jon looked and saw she stayed with him and was watching him intensely "I apologise for keeping you, I'll catch up with the others" Jon states apologetically.
She shakes her head which surprises him as he had not expected her to speak the common tongue, though he supposed it would make sense if she did as she was part of the envoy "I am Samaya the First Mother, what do they call you"
"Jon Snow," he says in greeting as he bows his head slightly.
Samaya hums "You strong, I know this" she says as she steps closer inhaling his scent. She was around the same height as him so rather tall for a woman, she placed her hand on his chest feeling the muscles beneath, Jon didn't want to cause any issues so he allowed her to do as she wished as long as she didn't go too far. She then clenched her fist and threw a punch at his face which Jon deftly caught without budging, this only seemed to excite her even more "Very strong" she purred in a heavily accented voice.
Jon felt she was a little close and so he stepped back slightly "I don't want my friends to leave me behind, let's go" he simply said before walking ahead not waiting for her answer. She remained close by him however as he caught up with the rest of his group, them not having even realised he was gone.
They were led into the palace and taken into what looked like the Throne room in the centre was a large throne and off to the sides were many other seats that looked like thrones but weren't as lavish as the one in the centre, in the centre sat a man with pale sand blonde long hair, he sat on the throne without a shirt, he was well muscled but Jon noticed that none of them looked to be developed from hard work and seemed to be purposely built as if he had been sculpted.
Hyreed turned and looked at their group "Bow before his magnificence, the Patriarch Hyrkoon the 999th, ruler of our city and the most perfect man to exist in the world" He said before turning himself and bowing.
Jon and his group bowed though he could see Jon Connington had an issue with it as he did not think they should be making another king bow "Why have you come to my land..." the man says as he leans on the side of his throne with a bored expression on his face.
Jon Connington walked forward to address the patriarch "We only seek to be allowed passage through your land as well as supplies and perhaps a guide through the Great sand sea"
"Mmmm, and what will you offer in return," he says his bored expression remaining as his eyes struggle to stay open.
Connington clenches his fists and grits his teeth at the disrespect shown but remains calm "We have gold we can-"
"Ahahahahahaha, do I look as if I lack gold? If you lived here you'd have been gelded for your idiocy" Hyrkoon said with amusement, those surrounding him laughed as well.
"If you have nothing of value to offer then be gone from my sight" he states no longer having any interest in them.
It was at this point Hyreed approached the king and whispered in his ear, while they couldn't hear what the man said they did see the Patriarchs' reaction as his eyes widened and a smile formed upon his face, he then looks at Aegon "You! Boy is it true you are the Blood of Old Valyria" he asks
Aegon steps forward "I am one of the last Targaryens in this world" he states.
The patriarch looked very happy at these words "Good... then it seems we can negotiate"
Aegon smiles nervously "If I am able to then I will"
"We need the Blood of Old Valyria introduced into our bloodlines... you will impregnate women of our choosing we want at least ten children from the union" The patriarch said excitedly.
However Jon Connington stepped up immediately "Out of the question, Aegon will be king in the future, having that many bastards running around could risk rebellion in the future"
Aegon nodded in agreement "I would also be pained if I had so many children that I knew I would have to abandon"
The patriarch's excitement died and his smile morphed into a frown, which was very close to a scowl "Then you have nothing of value and can leave the way you came"
It was at this point Connington stepped back up which caught Jon's attention, he shared a look with Oberyn 'He's about to piss me off, I just know it'
"He is not the only Blood of Old Valyria, we have five others who share the same blood, the king's brother stands with us right there" Connington states as he points towards Jon who has a scowl on his face, 'I knew it' he thought to himself as he clenched his fists.
Hyrkoons eyes widen as he looks at Jon as well, other than his purple eyes and facial structure none would be able to tell he was of the Old Blood "Are any of them women..." Hyrkoon asks as he sits up in his seat.
Connington nods his head and smiles accommodatingly, it seemed the only time the man smiled was when he was pissed Jon off "We do, she is Daenerys Targaryen and is a maiden just flowered"
Jon steps up having enough of this farce "I'm afraid that Connington oversteps once again as he does not talk for any Targaryen other than the one over there" Jon states as he points to Aegon who seems to be looking at his own feet.
"Then will you be willing to give me the Targaryen woman, she will be happy here and will be made queen" Hyrkoon explains.
Jon had to think carefully, there was no way he'd be giving Daenerys to these people to become a broodmare, nor would he allow himself to be milked of his seed, so he'd have to do something drastic "Patriarch, I do not believe your people are worthy of our blood" Jon says calmly much to the gasps and disbelief as well as outrage of those present.
Hyrkoon had the most obvious look of rage as he stood from his throne "You dare look down on us, we descend from Hyrkoon the Hero, we put an end to the Long Night"
Jon's expression doesn't change "Maybe you are worthy, but all I see is weakness, between me and my companions we could kill everyone in this room and leave before the guards had even dressed"
Hyreed who stands off to the sight looks shocked at his words "If your negotiations consist of threats to our patriarch then we will cast you out now lest you be put in the cells"
Jon shook his head "You wish for the Old Blood to become a part of your bloodline and then prove your worth, you are a warrior people are you not? Then I shall fight your champion and should I lose then I will impregnate as many women as you wish, but when I win you will give us what we asked for and more"
The patriarch laughs exaggeratedly "And why would I accept such outrageous terms, you don't even look Valyrian"
"I take my mothers colouring, she was a Stark the bloodline of the First Men and Kings of Winter, my ancestor built the wall, I have two ancient bloodlines running through my veins and you should be honoured at the chance to acquire them, and the reason why you'd accept such terms is that we have 10,000 men with siege equipment and elephants outside your walls and if we do not come to an agreement then your beautiful city may become a pile of rubble" Jon states calmly.
Hyrkoon looks to be a few seconds away from drawing swords however he is stopped when Samaya steps forward "The Mothers accept the terms presented" much to the surprise of everyone present.
Hyrkoon scowls at her "You'd go against the judgement of the Great Fathers?"
Samaya looks at him with a neutral expression "Will you carry the children? No? Then the Great Fathers can not judge" she says simply much to the agreement of the other women and men present.
Hyrkoon looks as if he is about to draw swords, though whether he wished to fight Samaya or Jon is not known, however, Hyreed puts a hand on his shoulder to calm him down "Very well, we shall choose a champion and the trial shall be held tomorrow, for now, you shall be our honoured guests" Hyreed then directs servants to show them out of the main hall and into the chambers they'd be staying in.
Samaya and her fellow guards followed them, Jon walked a little slower so he could talk to her "Thank you for your support, I did not wish for things to become violent"
She shook her head "Your thanks are not needed, I will be the first to carry your child once we win tomorrow" she stated much to their surprise of Jon, while she was quite attractive Jon didn't want to make a habit of spilling his seed in every woman that he came across. Something he needed to get better at.
Jon smirks at her "I am afraid no matter who you pick as a champion you will not win"
Samaya smiles fiercely at him "We shall see" As she said this they arrived at the guest wing of the palace and were each shown to their rooms with Samaya taking Jon to his room herself "Rest, you will need to be strong for tomorrow" she says before leaving.
Jon looks around the lavishly decorated room and sighs, he'd have to punish Connington in some way but for now, he would take Samaya's advice and rest, though he found it difficult to sleep as he was used to the small form of Joanna cuddling into him. Not even a day and he missed her, he didn't know what he would do once she had to go back to her mother, if made him seriously consider buying a manse in Kings Landing though it would be difficult to live there with Rhaella and Daenerys 'I'll find a way' he thought to himself as he drifted off to sleep.
———————————————————-
When Jon woke up he almost attacked the person who did so but stopped his fist short when he realised who it was, Oberyn stood next to his bed without a shirt on and a smirk on his face "I'm not sure what impression I've given you but I'm not interested" Jon said as he put his fist down.
"Then you truly are missing out on the delights I can bring you, however, that is not why I am here, I have something to show you," Oberyn said as he stepped away from the bed gesturing him to get up, with a sigh he did before throwing on a tunic and breeches. They both stepped out into the empty halls of the palace "I hope you are as good at sneaking as you are killing"
"Pffft you know I broke into the Iron Bank once before" Jon said with a smirk.
Oberyn rolls his eyes "I'm sure, now let's go quickly"
They started lightly and stepped through the corridors making sure to avoid those with guards, Jon steps next to Oberyn "What is it we are going to see?" He asks curiously.
Oberyn turns "Did you not wonder why these people are so desperate for Valyrian blood?"
Jon shrugged his shoulders "I assumed it was something stupid like status, as they do in Volantis"
Oberyn shook his head "In the beginning I thought so as well but after exploring the palace I found the truth" he said as he led them down some steps that seemed to go under the palace, the steps seemed to go on forever as they seemingly went deep into the ground, eventually they reached a door and Oberyn opened it.
"I believe you said to me that I would find a dragon before I would find a brothel here, as I discovered... you were right" he said as the door opened and Jon stepped inside.
(AN: So hopefully I'll be done with this arc in either the next chapter or the one after that, then it will be a small arc and after that arc it will be the Phoenix arc. Any of you expecting a dragon? Hope it is a welcome addition. I don't plan to add anyone else to the harem unless it's really requested so unless a bunch of you want a specific person it'll remain as it is with maybe a few causal bangs.)
