章節 144: Chapter 144 - Lost Life
Axel, Ekail, Navi, and Ely enter the room, their footsteps echoing against the stone walls. Behind them, a stone creature follows, its eyes glowing a menacing red this time.
As they enter the room to escape from the stone creatures following them, the stone creature suddenly charges forward, smashing its way through the door with a powerful punch. Ely, who was the last one to enter the room, was caught off guard and hit directly in the head. Her skull cracked under the impact sound of breaking bones, which echoed through the room, and she fell to the ground, motionless.
The punch of a stone creature filled with nen and the defensive power of Ely was not enough to block and attack a naturally strong creature, not to mention having the power of nen. In the first place, Ely was not a fighter, and her abilities were not fit for direct combat.
The other three quickly sprang into action, their eyes turning red. Navi moved to protect Ely's body, while Axel and Ekail focused on the stone creature. Axel charged at the creature, dodging its attacks with quick movements and kicking the chest of the creature while Ekail summoned a powerful blast of nen energy that hit the creature square in the chest.
The creature stumbled back, its body cracking and crumbling under the force of Ekail's attack. Because the creature had already been hit with a kick, its chest was already damaged, so a nen blast from Ekail was enough to destroy it.
It let out a deafening roar before finally falling to the ground, motionless. Ekail approached Ely's lifeless body, grief etched on his face.
Navi took the body of the Ely and shouted.
"We have no time. Run!"
The room fell silent for a second before Azer was picked up by Axel and the corpse of Ely was picked up by Navi. The group kept running, and Ekail checked the back of the team to see if there were any stone creatures following them.
Ekail, seeing that no more stone creatures were following them, let out a cold breath and then stayed close to others as he kept running. About fifteen minutes later
Axel suddenly caught sight of something up ahead.
"There is a light!" he shouted, pointing ahead. "It may be an exit!"
The rest of the group squinted ahead, seeing the faint glimmer of white light in the distance. Navi, their leader, quickly took charge.
"Everyone, move towards that light!" she ordered. "It might be our way out of here!"
They ran faster, their feet pounding against the rocky ground as they drew closer and closer to the light. As they neared it, the light grew brighter, illuminating the path ahead of them. They could feel a rush of fresh air, indicating that they were indeed getting closer to the surface.
With a final burst of energy, they emerged from the dark tunnel into a large, open cave filled with bright sunlight. The group shielded their eyes as they took in their surroundings, relieved to be out of the dark and damp ruins.
"We made it out!"
Azer, who was still in pain, exclaimed.
Ekail took a deep breath, and his fist filled with nen as he punched the exit. The stones broke down and shut down the exit for the time being.
Navi places the corpse of Ely on the ground and whispers.
"But we lost Ely."
As she whispers, she lets out a cold breath and tells everything about her emotions.
