章節 183: First Intentions

Jesus had arrived a little later than Airon, he had heard Airon's words and really didn't know what was about to happen next.

In fact, Airon had no intention of leaving this place so quickly, although Gregory chased him into the hallway, the old man stopped when he saw that the others were doing so.

Sighing dejectedly, Gregory said, "All right, whatever you people want I'm willing to negotiate."

And Airon who had his back to Gregory interrupted him with his hand. Looking at how low this old man had fallen, he turned to him and explained what would happen next.

"Mr. Gregory, you must understand that the reason we plan to trade is not for you, but for the sick people outside. You don't have shit to offer me, I can safely say that the food you are hiding won't even last my community one lunch."

After saying those words, Airon felt that the depression that had been oppressing his chest for the past few days had eased a bit, which made him feel much more comfortable. Indeed, words can be keys that open an infinite number of doors and the only ones that have the ability to leave someone silent.

If the Saviors still do not reach this refuge which is very strange, he will have to manage otherwise so that he at least has some power in this part where his community does not dominate strongly.

No one here can think of something like that, so Airon deliberately let Maggie will converse with the old man as she had originally done. In this way, everyone will understand that this old man as a leader is absolutely not worth it.

"Let me change the deal as I don't want them to die of starvation or health due to lack of medicine..."

The old man's mentality at this point was a bit tense, he waved his hands indifferently and turned to look at Jesus, muttering all sorts of things as he followed Airon and his group.

"Alright, I'll give them everything they can even if I don't get to keep anything!"

Airon smiled slightly and then said, "My community is strong and helps everyone in need of food, medicine and weapons to defend their homes from the walkers. Since you have none of these three signposts, my community will take care of these people for you."

The next words left Gregory completely speechless, what were examinations this man was saying? Jesus next to him was very surprised, but he said nothing and just watched the whole silence.

Airon would not take this place by force, he was being kind and his position was irrefutable. No one could change his mind, Maggie and Michonne agreed with Airon's words and Glenn had nothing to say.

"I had been told by Jesus that they were not related to the military, is that correct?" Gregory stopped Airon making the others adjust their weapons.

"That is correct, our S.C.T. the community is made up of experienced soldiers, policemen, firemen and people who want to survive. If your people are within our group, they will be cared for as if they were my brothers."

"But your words will no longer carry weight in the decisions made in this place, Jesus will take care of that seeing that he is better prepared than someone like you."

"I can't take over as leader if Gregory has done well, I think we should give it more thought." Jesus stepped forward, snapping protesting this decision.

"Do you know what would happen if we were a different group of survivors? Everyone would die without exception, there are huge groups of cannibals out there, you have no idea what that means. My people will prepare you, as long as you are part of our community you will be strengthened and cared for."

The next thing was much simpler, Airon did not accept any food from this shelter and instead replaced Gregory as leader leaving Jesus ready to take over. Once his people arrive here, he will send a special group to take over and do what needs to be done.

Elder Gregory was still grinding his teeth as he looked at Airon who had assumed this place as one of his bases, but Airon paid no attention to these reactions.

"We do not want them, we will not accept your people in this place as we do not need your protection. If you want to make an exchange for the medicines, we will, but we will not accept you taking us under your command."

Gregory is a guy who doesn't want to lose what little power he has. Even though he didn't get any benefit from this transaction, he still wants to leave the impression on the people of Hilltop that they only care about their lives and not resources.

Airon didn't say anything, he just smiled coldly.

Elder Gregory suddenly felt that the atmosphere around him was not quite right. He turned his head and looked around, and found that all the people at Hilltop were looking at him with strange eyes. There seemed to be a hint of anger and disgust in those eyes.

Carson beside him said quietly, "The leader of these people saw that he hadn't had any news about the transaction, so he gave the medicines to all the people plus some weapons and food, and now the fever seems to be subsiding."

Gregory, who heard the news, felt his whole body ache and his blood pressure was about to get out of control. Since this group of people arrived here, he has been at a disadvantage.

Since he assumed the position of leader of this place and negotiating trades with many other people, having the experience of dialogue, this time he encountered such a situation. Now he not only lost power in his position as leader, but also quite possibly the unconditional support of all these people. There is no doubt that he underestimated these people, so now he can do nothing.

His eyes began to scan the members of Airon's team one by one and he discovered that none of them were elderly or dirty, making it difficult for him to make a judgment.

"I won't be the one to tell you, but my S.C.T. the community which was formed by government members and for the sole purpose of rebuilding civilization again, will be taking care of this place and all of you but before that we will listen to your response."

"My people are on their way, from Atlanta we have taken the whole city and we are strong, we are not short of food or water, clean clothes or showers, weapons or ammunition. My community has everything, and now I will make sure they lack for nothing."

Airon paused and pointed to Jesus at his side. "My friend Jesus, he was the one who asked me to help you all, thanks to him your future is about to change. Now doctors or women and men won't have to leave if they don't think they have enough skills."

Gregory was red with fury, but he just thought to himself everything he wanted to say. Son of a bitch, who the hell does he think he is to say these words!

He forcibly repressed the uncomfortable feeling in his heart, did his best to make his expression more natural and his tone returned to the confidence he had when they first met.

"If all this is true, a change is coming for all of us. Since it's night, I hope you have a safe trip back. Jesus, you can say goodbye to your friends."

After he finished speaking, he walked into the mansion without looking back, leaving only Carson and Jesus standing silently, looking at everyone who had gathered wordlessly.

They were all happy and excited, not expecting to receive the help without giving anything in return today. In their eyes, Airon's group is what they say they are.

"Sorry, Gregory is such a person. To be precise, when the leader was elected here, no one competed with him. He assumed the position directly. He managed well this year, so everyone got used to his peculiar leadership. But now that you say that, I guess you've made up your mind..."

Jesus knew Gregory's virtues. This guy works with typical businessman thinking. He doesn't like to suffer losses on anything. As long as it's profitable, he doesn't mind something like embarrassment. Once there is no profit, he will immediately change his way of dialogue insulting even the people who come to his aid.

Airon waved his hands indifferently. He did not believe that this guy could create problems in his hands. The most important thing now is that he has already contacted Hilltop and his intention was to secure this place and put it under his care. At least he has left a good image in the hearts of all these people.

The future, this would be a base protected by his community where he would do important things for the future.

...

On the way back to Alexandria, a group of people were chatting very animatedly. Today I made contact with two forces. Although the process was a bit tortuous, the result was good.

Glenn was explaining just how he changed each one to Glegory when he heard that his leadership was about to come to an end. He had been an idiot after all.

Daryl approached Airon and asked curiously, "What's your next plan, do you think it's wise to take over the Hilltop community?"

"Continue to scout the surrounding area. I need to meet all the nearby survivor forces. We'll stay here for five to six months at the most. Better find a way to get along with everyone who doesn't decide to join us, sooner or later they will be part of our force and for now Hilltop is the first one next to the Kingdom I'm considering."

"What if they don't want to be led? Not everyone is willing to live under the orders of others." Maggie asked with a strange expression.

Airon sighed and said, "They all want to survive and we only seek to save them, if they don't see that we will leave along with those who trust us."

"That Gregory, that old man was a complete jerk. It was a good thing you removed him as leader, sooner or later he's going to start making messes at Hilltop." Daryl said as he ate a bag of chips.

The rest of the people laughed together, they thought Daryl's words were so right, again today they came out on top without the need to love anyone.

However, the more monstrous Airon behaved, the better it was for all those who are strangers. After all, most people wanted to be leaders, but not everyone could be a leader. It would be nice to have such a leader at a time like this.

And the more Airon acted, the less they needed to think. But that wasn't something Airon wanted. He didn't want these people to have too much of a sense of dependence on him, he hoped that these people could become independent people instead of tools who just listen to what they say.

So he planned to change the division of the team's work next. He was still responsible for going out to investigate the surrounding area, while the others were divided into two groups to continue contacting the Kingdom of God and establish the domain of Hilltop.

This can also exercise their ability to think independently, and the forces that will be encountered next are all relatively dangerous forces.

The Salvation Army has not yet appeared, so the men in the current seaside hotel should not have been wiped out, and that place is very exclusive for some reason, so you should be careful if you decide to explore there.

There is also Jadis' garbage dump, this force is an organization that Airon must contact, because no matter how much he dislikes the other side, Jadis is currently the only person Airon can contact the CRM in the original story.

Although she is only an outsider responsible for providing experimental materials and talents to CRM, in CRM's eyes, she is only an expendable person.

On the contrary, she has always put joining CRM first. This powerful organization surprised her so much that she dismissed all other organizations. That's why Rick couldn't see through her in the original story.

For example, two people work in the same unit, one of them goes to work every day hoping for a good future, and the other is told that as long as he can find certain information, he can be promoted to several positions in a row.

At this point, if given two choices you would obviously choose the latter, there is no comparison against the two jobs.

Rick originally thought Jadis would help him, but she joined the Salvation Army at the critical moment. In fact, Jadis had no problem with either of the two communities clashing. She simply made what she thought was the safest decision.

In her eyes, what is a community like Alexandria or the Salvation Army, no matter how they live they are just some people struggling to survive in the last days, nothing more.

The reason she is so interested in Rick is not that she has any sense of identification with him, but simply sees him as a ticket, a ticket into the Military Civic Republic, and she has been testing from start to finish, standing in a higher vantage point to these people with their perfectly worked out plans.

Just as Airon was about to rest, he hears the radio in his chest emit sound, "Commander Airon, this is the ST leader, we are approaching your position."
