章節 18: ~Learned~
'We are about to enter the cold region,' Luna said and wrapped her energy over Huno.
'Okay when we are in, enter the first cave you come across,' Huno said.
'Alright, how long are we staying in the cold region?' Luna asked.
'At least two weeks maximum three,' Huno said as Luna entered the cold region.
They flew for over thirty minutes before they found a cave. Luna brought the platform down and both of them entered to investigate. Deep in the cave, they found the Qi energy stones. Luna flew out of the cave and after twenty minutes she flew back with over forty ice men, each holding an ice ax or a big ice basket.
When Huno saw this, he was shocked. 'Nice idea,' he said.
Luna smiled at him and looked around the cave perceiving, not wanting to disturb her. Huno walked to some stones and sat beside them. The ice men got to work immediately.
Huno noticed his Qi energy leak out so he started absorbing from the stones to keep up with the loss. Luna sat down and continued to feel her surrounding, she felt maybe if she can understand her surrounding she can prevent Huno's loss of Qi energy.
Time slowly passed. It was already a day later. The icemen when had gotten all the baskets full and required more but couldn't get more. They could only continue mining and gathering together. Huno didn't want to disturb Luna, so he said nothing and kept absorbing energy. He got two openings, having sixty-one. Now he was in the high-rank foundation realm. He couldn't get more openings because the rate at which his energy leaked was faster than before. And he had to separate his concentration to resist a foreign entity invading his body. Right now, he could only keep up with the pace of leaking.
Two more days passed, Luna still hadn't gotten up, the Icemen were almost done mining, and Huno? well, he was struggling to match the pace of the leaking energy while fighting the invading energy-like entity.
Three days later, Huno had one of his openings blocked by the invading energy. He could no longer keep up with the rate of his leaking energies. The ice men were done with their assignment and were staring at Luna for instructions, but Luna was still not moving.
Two days later, Luna finally stood up and walked up to Huno, smiling. Huno, who noticed her movement, looked up and was glad. He wanted to hang on one day longer, but luckily Luna stood up.
'Any gains?' he asked as Luna got closed.
'Yeah, the ice ability isn't an innate ability of mine, it's a comprehended one,' Luna said.
'What do you mean?' Huno asked.
'I seem to have learned it after they locked me up, but because I was there for too long, I forgot or I didn't even know I learned it,' Luna said.
'I see, so you don't have an innate ability then,' Huno said.
'I do. I don't know what it is, but it is related to that other energy. When I try to use it, I get frightened and feel so many negative emotions,' Luna said.
'Oh, then I think we should keep it under the rug first. With time we will open its chapter,' Huno said.
'Okay, I think so too,' Luna said.
'So you learnt the ice? Do you think I can learn it?' Huno asked and Luna nodded. 'That's good, alright let's get these in and be on our way,' he added.
'Okay, (she breathed in and out) domain!' Luna yelled.
With Luna as the center, her energy spread out for about eight meters around her. She looked at Huno, who suddenly felt the leaking and invading energy stop and said, 'Thank goodness it worked,'.
'So awesome,' Huno said and wipe the sweat on his forehead away.
'Let's get them in,' Luna said and walked over to the basket and pile.
Huno walked over and both got to work. Huno will take Luna and a basket in, and after a while, he will bring her out. Luna will hand over the empty basket to the ice men and repeat the entire process. It took almost a day to take them in, and Luna's domain collapsed several times over. The good thing was, after every collapse, the longer the domain stayed, showing she was getting better control.
'We are gone,' Luna said after the last one. 'We rest a bit, go find the next,' Huno said.
Luna wrapped her energy over him and said, 'I can rest on the way to the next,'. All the ice men and tools turned into a platform under her control. This time, the platform had a bed and a chair on it and three corner walls. Luna laid on the bed and face the corner without a wall. Seeing Huno sit on the bed, Luna raised her legs and kept them on his lap. Initially, she had done the chair for Huno to sit on.
Huno laughed and massaged them as the platform flew away. 'Your hair is white,' Huno said. Hearing this, Luna sat up and shouted, 'really?'. The platforms swayed a little before it regained its balance. Luna held her hair and looked at it. Huno was right, it was white with a little black in between. She laid back, swinging her leg up and down as she shouted, 'Yes yes yes,'.
Huno laughed and asked, 'what's so special about having white hair?'.
'It's special because it's the same as yours,' Luna turned to the side and said.
There was a thrilled smile on her face, and she couldn't help to blush.
'Aw, senior brother, that's so sweet,' Xue Li's voice came to his ear. 'Big brother, what do you think?'.
'I think so too,' Lee Wei said.
'Aren't you guys supposed to be cultivating?' Huno laughed and asked.
'Did senior brother and senior sister say something?' Luna asked.
'They both said you are sweet,' Huno replied.
'We stopped about two days again. We've been having fun with Ma Lie,' Xue Li replied. 'How many days has it been now?'
'Oh okay, it's been eight days now in the cold region and ten since we left the sect,' Huno said.
'Oh, how many caves have you been to now?' Lee Wei asked.
'We just left the first one,' Huno said.
'Seriously?'. Xue Li shouted.
'Hey junior sister, my eardrums will burst if you shout like that,' Huno said.
'Sorry, when will you leave?' Xue Li asked.
'Hmm, Luna now has a way to prevent me from leaking Qi energy, so we can stay for as long as we want,' Huno laughed and said.
'You are kidding,' Xue Li said.
'Yeah, at least by the third week we should leave,' Huno said.
Luna stopped at the front of a cave and made Ice men and tools. This time, it was faster and more than the last time. With about seventy ice men made in ten minutes, Luna carried them all and flew in. This time they didn't go deep before finding the Qi stones. Luna released the Icemen and after they started working, she flew out of the cave.
'It seems you are reading my mind,' Huno said as they left the cave. Luna smiled and searched for the next cave. One after another they went from one cave to another, left ice men in the ones that had Qi stones and in the ones where there were none. They flew out. After two days, they have gone to eight caves, of which two didn't have Qi stones while the rest did.
Arriving at another cave, Luna frowned when she got to the entrance. She was already accustomed to Qi energy that she could tell if a cave had Qi stones or not by just perceiving at the entrance. This time she couldn't perceive the Qi energy, but she felt another kind of energy she had not felt before.
'What's wrong?' Huno asked.
'Something in the cave is releasing energy, and I can't tell what kind of energy it is,' Luna replied.
'Let's check it out,' Huno said and became vigilant. Luna nodded and flew into the cave. It was a deep cave. They flew in for about twenty minutes before arriving at the source of the energy.
The source was yellow-colored ores similar to the Qi energy stones.
'Brother, junior sister, you need to see this,' Huno said and took Luna in. After a while, he brought her out with Lee Wei, Ma Lie, and Xue Li.
'What's wrong?' Lee Wei asked.
'Have you seen these stones before?' Huno asked.
'No, but there is a strange energy coming from them,' Lee Wei said. 'It's not Qi energy, it's different,'.
'We are going to take it too, right?' Xue Li said.
'Of course, who knows it will be helpful later,' Huno said. 'Oh, Ma Lie you are at the peak foundation realm?' Huno asked and Ma Lie nodded.
'That's nice. You'll be in the True realm soon. I thought I could catch up with you at high rank,' Huno said. Ma Lie smiled and brought his tongue out.
'I'll be back in about forty minutes. Can you guys manage?' Luna asked.
'Are you mocking us? (laughs) I stayed days. What is a mere forty minutes?' Huno said with his chest out. Everyone laughed at him and Luna left towards the cave entrance.
'We should explore the cave some more,' Lee Wei said, and everyone agreed.
'Oh right, Ma Lie when we settled down outside the cold region you and I need to spar. It's not a good thing to have high cultivation and have no fighting knowledge,' Huno said.
'That's very correct, the more you fight the easier it is to know your abilities,' Xue Li said.
As they talked, they continued forward and came to the end of the cave. It was only a ten-minute walk from the position they were in to where they were now. 'How many days now since we left the sect, senior brother?' Xue Li asked.
'Today makes it twelve, almost two weeks. When Luna comes, we'll head to the previous caves,' Huno said.
'This cold region is absolutely a cultivation treasure land. If the great families could get in here, they'll confiscate the cold region and turn it to the property of the great families, truly annoying,' Lee Wei said.
'Well, it's a good thing they can't,' Huno said. Ma Lie who was ahead looking around, stopped and turned to face them. He made hand signs, and Lee Wei and Xue Li's eyes widened after seeing the signs.
'What's wrong?' Huno asked.
'Junior brother thinks the stones are related to the legendary realm,' Lee Wei replied.
Huno's eyes lit up. 'there's a big possibility that they are like Qi energy, but that will mean that from the True realm to the legendary realm you will need to convert both the core and the Qi energy,' he said.
Lee Wei and Xue Li's eyes widen again as if they had just gained insight.
'If this is the case, it explains why getting to the legendary realm is difficult,' Xue Li said.
'Yes, but I don't think these are the only reasons,' Huno said. 'If these were the only reason, then there should be more legendary realm than what is available,' he added.
'What does senior brother mean?' Xue Li asked.
'You both said there are countless high rank and peak True realm in the great families, right?' Huno asked, and both nodded. 'Since they have so many peak and legendary realm experts to give info about breaking through, then they should know this detail since they know why aren't there more legendary realms?' Huno asked.
Lee Wei stared at him and realized what he meant, taking him as an example. The elders had already told him what he needed to watch out for and avoid while breaking through to the True Realm. This made breaking through a lot easier. The great families should do the same right?.
'If what you are thinking is correct, then there is a reason entering the legendary realm is difficult other than these two and until we know we should forget about entering the legendary realm,' Xue Li said.
'Yes, how many legendary realms do both sides of the two major forces have?' Huno asked.
'The great families nine, the Jia empire ten,' Lee Wei said.
'You once said the great families lost three legendary realms, right?'
'Yes, about a hundred years ago the West region had twelve legendary realms, then...' Lee Wei stopped talking and opened his mouth.
'Senior brother, what happened?' Xue Li asked.
'There was nothing like the nine divine generals of the Jia empire. There were only seven generals plus the Jia emperor,' Lee Wei replied.
'So after the death of those three legendary realms of the great families two rose from the Jia empire, this could be a coincidence,' Xue Li said.
'Yes, it could, but if it's not, then the Saint realm has a limit for legendary realm experts,' Lee Wei said.
'It's not just a limit, if it was just that it would be first come first served, but since it's not there is a selection method that even the legendary realm experts no not off,' Huno said.
