While the future was brewing storms and clouds of expectancy, Alex and Ken finally arrived at the school premises.
The ride had taken almost seven good hours and they were now quite exhausted, with the exception of Alex of course, he was already a core mage with six elements, three being common while the other three were part of the rare elements.
Ken was the first to offload from the car immediately after the car stopped moving and stretched his body. He was feeling really tired from sitting for so long through their long journey and his butt hurts really badly.
They were now inside the school premises so Ken's first task was to inspect his long-admired dream school.
To Ken's earlier imagination of what the school would look like, what he was seeing right now had his earlier imagination experience a rock-hard neck breaker.
Instead of an old, barely standing building with maybe a rough, bushy environment, what stood in front of him was a very long and tall, clean strong building, with ten floors according to what Ken counted, this surely was the biggest school Ken had ever seen in his whole life, be it in a book or TV, the school's perimeter was just too wide, Alex believed more than a thousand people could easily fight inside this single gigantic building.
Just how many rooms were in it??
Ken could see people moving back and forth from the second floor to the seventh floor, some were walking briskly, others were walking slowly at their own convenience, and some just stood still, discussing one thing or the other with their partners.
Some of these people were in uniforms Identical to the one Ken saw in his bag while the rest were in uniforms that Ken couldn't recognize, he had never seen before, the rest of the people were in regular attire, they were probably teachers and school staff.
Ken noticed that there were no cars or any other vehicles outside the school, maybe because no one usually visited the school nor did the students leave the school before vacation.
Different types of flowers were scattered around the school compound in what seemed like a random arrangement but was a very beautiful pattern, some were also arranged neatly along the walkway.
The outside floor was made up of bricks and was brownish, Ken could see some flags swaying in the wind with some other pole that had some kind of little metal ball on top, it would occasionally turn towards another direction from time to time, Ken didn't recognize this turning metal ball and just kept staring at it.
"Those are the security cameras of the school, used to watch the movement of everyone in the school, they are also connected at other locations around the school" a young man came over to them and explained to Ken when he saw Ken staring blankly at the security cameras.
Ken tore his gaze away from the turning metal ball he now knew to be security cameras and fixed his eyes on the person that had just arrived, the person doesn't seem to be much older than them, maybe seven or six years age difference.
Ken also noticed that he was wearing the strange uniform that he didn't recognize, maybe they are the seniors in the school?
The young man just smiled at Ken before shifting his gaze away from him to Alex who had by now already came out of the car and was taking their stuff from the car.
"Welcome back Alex, I knew you would be back sooner or later, everyone was just making a fuss over it" he said while smiling at Alex, Alex could see that his smile didn't reach his eyes and he was in fact just trying to mock Alex.
Alex looked at the young man and quickly information about him surfaced in his mind. This young man was named Harrison, a senior who had also accompanied them on the trip that killed the previous alex.
Alex found out that Harrison never liked the old Alex and would always find a way or the other to bully him. Alex was only puzzled about how Harrison knew he would be back today, or Maybe it was just a coincidence.
"Ken, take your luggage, let's go in" Alex didn't reply to this senior Harrison in front of him and just took his bags and walked towards the entrance to the first floor of the school.
Ken was quick to understand that Alex might not have a good relationship with this person so he hurriedly followed Alex after grabbing his own bag, the driver started the engine and drove off after the two youngsters were already inside the school building, his job was done and he had no other reason to tag around.
While they went inside the school, Alex received a notification that made him flash a small smile.

Meanwhile, Harrison was stunned by what just conspired before him that he wasn't able to react even after a minute, he was having a hard time understanding what happened or rather, he refused to believe it.
Alex, who always shivered whenever he spoke to him and always showed him respect whenever they met, just treated him like air, completely ignoring his presence.
He turned to look at the entrance of the school building and realized that Alex and the new kid were already gone. He frantically looked around him to see if anyone might have seen the show that happened and was relieved because no one else was outside except for himself.
Harrison gritted his teeth in anger, what Alex just did was an act of humiliation to him and he swore to humiliate Alex back and even punish him if possible.
"We shall see how long you can keep that front in the presence of that new kid, I will show him just how useless you are, trash!" Harrison grinned like a mad maniac as he walked into the school building too, thinking of a plan that would bring Alex shame and disgrace.
Only if he knew that this Alex was a different Alex, am sure he would have a change of heart instantly and start to avoid Alex but sadly, no one would be able to save this senior from digging his own grave.
