Isaac wandered in the streets.
Since he left the Golden Crown Guild building, he decided to look at the scenery of Stronglord— maybe he would find something to do.
He would like to grind XP, but he would be lucky enough to survive if he went to the Beast Forest. Players have already assembled their party's.
It was not a place for solo players to go anymore. All the weaker Beasts had already been killed, and only Beasts with much higher levels than Isaac remained.
There was a timespan when the weaker Beasts would respawn, but it is two days later, and even then, he probably wouldn't even get a single kill.
While he was daydreaming, he didn't notice that he had walked towards one of the largest buildings in Stronglord.
Isaac walked towards the gates of the large building, and in the yard of the building, hundreds of men were practicing with swords.
In front of the gates, a stoic-looking man was standing with a clipboard.
A nametag floated above him.
[Krystal - Army Instructor]
[Level: 91]
He had small brown hair with a muscular build and well-defined facial features. He had a sharp nose and cheekbones, but there was one thing very unique about him. He was missing his left ear!
He watched as the soldiers trained, but then he felt a presence approaching the gates.
He turned his body around and saw a beautiful individual with chain armor walking towards him, obviously not paying any attention to where he was walking.
Krystal was about to turn the beautiful individual around, but then he saw pouches hanging from his waist.
'He is... A smart one.' Krystal now inquired about this individual. He knows that the so-called Players have a special ability that lets them take items from the air, but he always thought that it was inefficient in the battle— it is better to have your ammo visible so you can know how many bullets you have left.
But, he also feels like it is slower than taking items from the pouch or from the pocket.
''Hey, young man!'' Krystal said with his stoic voice.
Isaac flinched and looked around him, 'When did I get here?'
''Young man, are you interested in becoming a soldier?'' Krystal said with crossed arms.
Isaac finally noticed the burly man, but then he widened his eyes in shock.
''Y-You know I am a boy?!''
''Of course, your face can't hide your manly traits. Some people with weaker will might be distracted by your face, but you are clearly a man!'' Krystal said with a confident expression.
Isaac looked thrilled— he almost felt like crying.
''Well, young man. Are you interested?''
''Interested in what?'' Isaac asked— he didn't hear Krystal's previous words.
''Becoming a soldier,'' Krystal repeated calmly.
''Soldier... Why me?'' Isaac asked curiously.
Krystal pointed at the pouches, ''You have obviously good wits, and that is desperately needed in the military.''
Isaac looked at the pouches on his waist, and he thought it would be obvious to put them there to reload quickly and to see how many bullets he had left.
After all, he does have a limited amount of bullets, and he needs to know if he needs to carefully use his bullets, so they won't run out too soon.
''So, what do you think? Soldiers earn good money. Recruits earn 3000 White Coins every month!''
Isaac sighed and scratched his cheek. He doesn't really want to become a soldier. He wants to be more of an adventurer.
''I am sorry. I have to decline.'' Isaac bowed and said with sadness. He feels like Krystal is a good man— refusing him made him feel bitter.
Krystal didn't look offended— instead, he gently smiled, ''Excellent lad. Well, you don't have to join. But, do you want to join the training?''
''Training?'' Isaac looked towards the hundreds of recruits training with swords.
''You must be using a gun, correct?''
Isaac nodded.
''We have a firing range here. Do you want to see it?'' Krystal asked and pointed at the large building in the distance.
Isaac nodded and started following behind Krystal.
They went past the training yard.
The soldiers stopped training and saluted towards Krystal, who returned the salute with his own.
Isaac's figure garnered quite a lot of attention, but soon the soldiers received angry shouts from other Instructors.
Krystal and Isaac entered the building.
They didn't stay in the building— instead, there was another exit in the building, which took them into a large yard with dozens of targets 50 meters away from them.
''What is your choice of weapon?'' Krystal asked.
Isaac took his Flintlock from the Inventory and gave it to Krystal.
Krystal looked at the Flintlock and nodded, ''Good gun.'' He said and gave it back to Isaac.
Isaac took it and looked at the targets in the distance.
He has never tried shooting at targets from fifty meters before.
''Do you want to try?'' Krystal asked.
Isaac nodded— he took a few steps forward and stopped in front of a red line.
''Phew...'' Isaac took a deep breath— he pointed the Flintlock on the target and closed his left eye.
Krystal looked at his stance and at his breathing.
Isaac's finger started closing on the trigger— he did a few minor last moment changes and pressed the trigger.
*Bang*
Krystal and Isaac watched as the bullet flew in the air towards the target.
The barrel of the Flintlock smoked, which hindered Isaac's vision slightly, but soon the smoke cleared, and Isaac saw how it went.
''Ahh...'' Isaac scratched his head.
The bullet missed the target!
It was 1 cm away from hitting the target, but he was far away from hitting the bullseye.
With embarrassment, he looked towards Krystal. He thought that he was pretty good, but he seemed to be wrong.
''How long have you been using Flintlock?'' Krystal asked.
''Uhh... Few days.''
Krystal's eyes almost popped from their sockets, ''F-Few days?!''
Isaac scratched his cheek and nodded.
'Am I that bad?'
He thought that Krystal was shocked because he has been using it for a few days and still couldn't hit a target.
'He is a genius!' Krystal cried in his mind.
*Cough* *Cough*
Krystal coughed a few times and nodded, ''I saw a few mistakes in your stance and in breathing— if you fix them, then your accuracy should increase.''
Isaac nodded, but he didn't know how to change his stance or breathing.
''Do you want me to train you for today?'' Krystal asked.
Isaac's eyes sparkled, and then messages popped up in front of him.

[Yes/No]
Isaac, without hesitation pressed [Yes]
Krystal switched his Army Instructor mode on.
''First lesson, breathing!'' He said sternly.
Isaac nodded, they were still in the firing range, and they were all alone. Most of the soldiers were currently having their swordsmanship training.
''Your breathing was alright, but it was not great! Your breathing can move the Flintlock just enough to throw off your shot— I think that's what happened during your shooting.''
Isaac listened closely— he sucked every information he got into his brilliant brain.
''Let's try the first method. Try shooting one more time, but this time we use the first breathing method.'' Krystal said and stepped aside.
Isaac nodded and walked towards the red line— he went into his shooting stance and waited for more instructors.
''Draw a deep breath and exhale only half of it. Then hold your breath as you squeeze the trigger.''
Isaac nodded, ''Phew.'' He took a deep breath, and when he started exhaling it out, he only exhaled half out.
Then, he held his breath and pressed the trigger.
*Bang*
The bullet left the barrel, and this time Isaac felt like it felt much more comfortable.
*Bam*
The bullet hit the edge of the target board!
''It worked!'' Isaac looked amazed.
Krystal nodded, ''Let's try the second method.''
Isaac nodded and waited till the Flintlock was ready to be reloaded.
18 seconds later, he reloaded the Flintlock and went into his shooting form.
''Take several deep breaths. Then squeeze the trigger after you exhale one breath and before you inhale the next breath.''
Isaac nodded and started taking several deep breaths.
Then, he exhaled one breath and instantly pressed the trigger.
*Bang*
The bullet left the barrel like a cannon, and this time it hit the target as well, around the same spot as previously.
Krystal nodded, ''Well done. Which one was better to use?''
Isaac pondered for a moment— he replied a few moments later, ''The first one, it felt quicker as well.''
Krystal's mouth curved into a small smile, ''Then, you should use it.''
Isaac nodded.
''I have seen you relaxing after you take a shot, don't do that.'' Krystal reminded me.
''Why?'' Isaac tilted his head.
''Keep the trigger pressed for a few seconds longer after the bullet leaves, and keep your posture. It will help your accuracy, but keep in mind that I am only talking about firing a gun. Anything can happen in the battle, and you need to be prepared to be versatile.''
Isaac nodded.
Krystal put arms behind his back and mentioned, ''I am only teaching you to shoot the gun, I don't teach you to battle with it, everyone has their own way of battling, and copying someone might be inefficient.''
Isaac looked at his Flintlock, 'Battle style...'
''We have a few hours before the soldiers come to have their daily shooting practice, till then, let's see if we can improve your stance.''
Isaac nodded and for the next few hours spent time with Krystal on the firing range.
His accuracy was improved by miles, and one of the shots already managed to hit the bullseye.
Krystal couldn't comprehend the talent this young man in front of him possessed— he was definitely the best student he ever had!
After the soldiers arrived, Krystal and Isaac left the firing range, and at first, Isaac thought it was the end of the training, but he was wrong.
Krystal took him to the nearby Public Library.
The library already had people of every age, but there were open seats available.
''Wait for a moment,'' Krystal said as Isaac sat on the chair with a small desk in front of him.
Isaac nodded and watched as Krystal went to search for books.
Shortly afterward, Krystal came back with four books.
He put three of them in front of Isaac and sat on the other side of the table— he started reading one of the books about Commanding an Army.
Isaac took the first book, and the text was [Terrain of Beast Forest]
''Hmm?'' Isaac got curious and started reading.
The book was about the different terrains Beast Forest has. It interested Isaac quite a lot because apparently, the edges of the Beast Forest have very soft ground, which makes mobility extremely difficult, especially for the people with heavy armors.
A few hours later, he finished the book and grabbed the second one.
[Battle Tactics]
Isaac breezed through the book, and it was fascinating to read about so many different strategies— sometimes even he couldn't comprehend how someone could find such a way to defeat their enemies. It even seemed laughable, but they still worked.
The third book was named [Importances of Physique]
It told what was important during the battles. Strength and Stamina were important during the Wars.
Agility and Stamina were important in battles against Beasts. Human strength cannot be stronger than Beasts of the same level, which means that humans have to adapt and use different ways to defeat their enemies.
That's where Agility and Stamina appeared. Beasts couldn't use their four limbs as freely as humans, which made Agility extremely important.
But, what made Isaac surprised was that the book also talked about the third thing. Intelligence.
The book said that don't expect to be able to beat your enemies with brute strength alone. Intelligence and trickery are an important part of defeating your enemy.
Isaac looked fascinated— he agreed with everything— he would have died many times without his cunning mind.
Soon, he finished reading it as well.
''What do you think?'' Krystal said and closed his book. He had a calm smile on his face as he looked at Isaac's excited face.
''I now have a wider knowledge about everything. Thank you.'' Isaac stood up and bowed.
Krystal chuckled and waved his hand, ''Don't mention it. I know that you will find the best ways to utilize these tactics.''
Isaac nodded firmly, ''I won't disappoint you.''
Krystal chuckled— he stood and patted his shoulder, ''Farewell, Good luck in your endeavors.''
Isaac watched as Krystal left. He only trained him for less than a day— he still learned a lot!
*Ding* *Ding*
A message popped up in front of Isaac.
