章節 46: New Devil Fruit
[What do I do now?] Percy thought as he stared at the corpse. [It was never explained how Blackbeard did it, all I know is that he did].
He was confused, he needed to hurry up, time was of the essence an the faster he did it, the more at ease he could feel.
[Let me first use the absorption on his body, let me see if I can absorb his power first.]
Percy touched Yiv's body and used [kurouzu] to try absorb as much as he could from the dead pirate. He continued on for a minute before he realized nothing happened.
[Next] he thought as he planned on what to experiment with.
Percy had a feeling that he was on the right track, but was missing a key component to solving this puzzle. After several attempts, he was thoroughly stumped.
[I absorbed, negated, and even tried to absorb his blood, nothing. What am I missing?]
He had a feeling that time was running out and he needed to complete it quickly.
[F*ck it] Percy thought to himself and reached for Yiv's heart. [I know that this is stupid, but might as well try to absorb directly from the heart, if not then last ditch effort is the brain.]
Percy closed his eyes in a silent prayer, held his breadth and tried to absorb from the organ in his hand. Ten seconds went by, twenty, thirty, just when Percy was about to give up; he felt it. There was something being pulled out of Yiv's heart and making its way to Percy.
Percy almost cried tears of joy when this happened because he was losing all hope. He grabbed onto the mysterious feeling and used the darkness to extract all of it from Yiv. The whole process took about 5 minutes and when he was done, Percy felt something within his body.
It wasn't the usual darkness, it was an itching: to transform.
[I did it, I did!] he shouted to himself as he felt his new power trying to manifest through his body. Percy happily accepted it and transformed. He grew taller, from 7' to now 16' just like Yiv. Green like scales appeared on his arms and legs, but Percy's uniform covered most of it. Finally, a golden crown was formed on his head.
Percy felt the power flowing through his body. He now had an intimate connection with the sea and the surrounding waters around him. He casually lifted his hand and rocked back in forth as a wave crashed into his ship.
[Oops] Percy thought as he put his hand down, [I guess I need to get used to my power before using it in anyway].
He dispelled his darkness and the corpse fell to the ground. Percy looked at Yiv, smiled and walked outside, leaving it inside his office.
As he walked to the deck, Percy grabbed the nearest marine and told him to relocate Yiv somewhere where he won't rot. The marine saluted and did as was commanded.

Percy got onto the main deck to see Garp standing next to Orange with a wide grin on his face.
"What are you doing here old man?" he asked as he saw his teacher teasing his soon-to-be woman.
"I'm just checking on my students" Garp said as he looked at the vice admiral.
"Really?" Percy said accusingly.
"BWAHAHAHA you caught me" Garp laughed. "Your fight was the best opportunity to finally capture Yiv. Kong wanted to ensure that he would finally be arrested so..."
"So if I could not handle Yiv," Percy finished Garp answer, "you would be here to save the day."
"Mad?" Garp said as he looked at his student with a smug look on his face.
"Not really" Percy answered truthfully. "If I was Kong, I would do the same thing."
Garp was stunned before telling Percy, "you've matured. In the past, you would have thrown a tantrum. Now look at you, it seems like I rubbed off on you BWAHAHAHAHA."
"NNNNOOOOO!" Orange yelled as she ran towards Percy. "Promise me you won't pick up his habits" she pleaded with her vice admiral.
"What's wrong with me?!" Garp asked with a stunned look on his face
"You dig your nose in front of me" Orange began, "your lazy, you never visit your son Dragon" she continued.
The list went on for another minute before Garp said sourly
"Alright, alright. I'm sorry I asked"
As if changing the subject, Garp turned around to Percy
"That was some fight"
"Thank you" Percy responded
"Did you learn something?"
"I need to work on my stamina, also my haki could be improved on"
Garp nodded, he noticed that too,
"You were forced to use geppo the entire time during the second half of the fight. That made you try to hurry and end it quickly. If that was someone a little stronger than Yiv..."
"I know, I know" Percy replied. "I would have been the one would've fallen."
"That's right" Garp nodded solemnly. "But you didn't, that's all that matters."
"What now?" Percy asked as the conversation seemed to die down.
"We head back to Marineford and have a party. Where is Yiv anyways?"
"I told one of my men to put him somewhere where he won't rot. His corpse will be proof that I am strong enough to contend with the emperors and will hopefully prove to Kong that I am admiral material."
"BWAHAHAHAHAHA I like your attitude kid. But you'll soon realize, that being an admiral is a lot more than fighting in the New world."

"Are you sure you want to retire?" Kong asked Zed again for the hundredth time.
The admiral rolled his eyes, "I told you fleet admiral, my wife is nagging me about never staying home even when we have a baby on the way. My son is also almost at the age where he can start training."
"I can give you less responsibility, as long as you keep your position on paper-"
"And what?" Zed asked "Let Percy suffer? You already assigned him an impossible task. He completed it, that should count for something, right?"
Kong was silent as he stared at Zed.
"You want to just train incoming recruits? So you're going to become the head instructor at Marineford?"
"That's right!" Zed said with a wide grin on his face. "Someone needs to teach that Aokiji, I swear he's lazier than all of our past marines combined."
"His talent though..." Kong started, "is very rare. With the addition to his devil fruit, he has the potential to be an admiral."
"What about Borsalino and Sakazuki? They both can become admirals in the future."
"That indeed is a problem" Kong agreed. "In the founding of the marines, there was as much as five admirals at once, so we can make them all one in the future. But for now, we still have Sengoku and Rosati to handle all admiral affairs if you truly wish to step down."
"I told you Kong-san, I'm stepping down and making way for Percy. He is certainly more than powerful enough to replace me."
"He lacks experience though" Kong tried to argue.
"Who really has experience when they first become an admiral, remember when you first became one and then were forced to fight those monsters in the New world."
Kong grimaced remembering those painful lessons he learned.
"Alright. We'll continue this talk when Percy gets back to Marineford. If he truly wants to, then I'll approve of you stepping down and him becoming an admiral."
"ZAZAZAZAZA, good good. Cheer up Kong, it's not like I won't be here in case of emergencies."
Kong rubbed his forehead and thought to himself,
[I wonder if I can steal Orange away from Percy again].
