A Month Later-

In the past month, Gu Xian has been roaming around the royal city and destroying any statues of phoenix that he would found. After destroying them, he would leave a long note. Some notes just claims that phoenix god is dead. Some others are filled with various curses toward the phoenix. And the rest are just him challenging the phoenix if he is still alive.

Gu Xian would even kill some elders of the Divine Phoenix Sect sometimes if he found them outside the royal city and leave the same notes that he left after destroying those Phoenix statues.

Even though many sympathized with Gu Xian after hearing his backstory, almost everyone believed that he will be killed no matter how powerful Gu Xian is.

After all, the power of the so called phoenix god has been deeply rooted in the mind of the people living in this city. Once a member of the sacred ground disrespected the statue of the phoenix and in a matter of minutes he was killed by Phoenix.

Not to mention even the sect masters of the sacred grounds fear the phoenix god. So, all the people in the empire expected Gu Xian to be killed in matter of days after what he did.

But a month passed by and there was still no response from the phoenix herself. Along with the rumors already circulating in the empire, many started to believe that the phoenix god that they used to believe in is truly dead.

At first Feng hengkong tried to control those rumors. But his efforts became pointless and he had to chose another way, that is to announce the masses that the phoenix god is in seclusion trying to breakthrough the next realm. That's why, she has not been able to come out.

Though this declaration of Feng Hengkong did manage to convince the masses but Gu Xian was already happy with the results as the two sect masters was very much convinced that the matter of phoenix's death is true especially after seeing Feng Hengkong trying to cover up the incident.

As promised earlier, the sect masters of the two sects decided to join hands with Gu Xian. After a long discussion they decide to create a temporary alliance league with Gu Xian as the leader.

After the alliance was officially established, Gu Xian publicized it to the whole empire and started to propagate his idea of defeating the cruel Divine Phoenix Sect and bring peace to this land. As many were fed up with the arrogance of the people of divine phoenix empire, Gu Xian's propaganda worked like charm and he managed to easily get the support of many people.

After hearing the goal of this alliance, Feng Hegkong got very angry as he personally took action to kill them off.

But he wasn't successful as Gu Xiuan blocked him and forced him to retreat. This incident made Gu Xian and his alliance more famous to the people of the empire. Those that had been bullied by the Divine Phoenix Sect before and was afraid to take revenge started to come out one by one and joined the alliance.

Of course, the Divine Phoenix sect tried their best to prevent this from happening and even sent their troops to persecute those that has joined the alliance but it didn't give them any positive result as the strength of the opposition that they are facing now isn't weak like a chicken that can be slaughtered anytime.

Finding no other choice, Feng Hengkong called all the elders to a meeting and discuss a good plan to wipe out the new alliance that has emerged.

"I want all of you here to come up with a strategy by tomorrow to destroy these rebels. Try to think of a plan that would let us win without doing much damage to our army." Feng Hengkong never thought that he would loose this civil war that is going to happen. After all, the quality of the troops that he has are way better that some random mobs that has been gathered by some groups of people.

The only thing that worries him the most is if the sacred grounds are behind this rebellion.

'That man named Gu Xian was able to go toe to toe with me. I don't believe that he was able to get this strong by being just a lone cultivator. Some sacred ground surely must be behind him.' Feng Hengkong looked thoughtful.

'Even though Gu Xain is saying that he is here for revenge, I believe that he must have been sent by the sacred grounds to confirm the phoenix god's death. The person that has been destroying the statues and cursing our phoenix god, it should also be this Gu Xian. I should be extra careful in my actions from now on as to not let him know about the fact that Phoenix god really died. Otherwise, it would really be disastrous for us in case the sacred grounds decide to directly attack us.' Feng Hengkong mind started to run in full speed as he started to connect the dots together.

After coming out of his thoughts, Feng Hengkong started to actively participate in the strategy making as to not leave any loopholes in it.

After several hours of discussion, Feng Hengkong decided to not go all out in this war as he has no confidence that he would be able to surely win against Gu Xian. If he loses by chance, it would surely expose the death of the phoenix god. Instead, he adapted the idea of dragging this civil war for a few years.

'In a few years of time, my daughter should be able to fully awaken her bloodline. Then I wouldn't have to care even if the so called sacred grounds are behind this. But until then, I should keep my patience.' Feng Hengkong thought.

When Gu Xian first entered the Divine Phoenix Empire, he tried his best to plant some spies in the higher level of management in the empire. Even though all the higher level people in the empire are closely related by blood but some of them didn't hesitate to betray their kin in the face of profits.

So, after the war meeting ended, those spies that he had planted already informed Gu Xian about the war strategy that they had discussed. As Gu Xian learned about the plan, his facial expression turned into a happy one.

Since the Divine Phoenix sect will be holding back, it will be easier for him not participate in the war using various excuses and let the two parties fight between themselves and weaken both of their strength.

Ling Yun just got the report from Gu Xian describing the current situation of the Divine Phoenix Empire. After contemplating for a while, he replied back, "As long as you can drag this civil war for a year, it would be enough. By then, Xia Yuanba should have already conquered the other five Empires. Also, don't hold back your fight against the Divine Phoenix Sect too much, otherwise the others that are in alliance with you might get suspicious."

"Lastly, keep an eye on a girl named Feng Xue'er. She is the daughter of Feng Hengkong. From what I know, he is extremely protective of her. So, as long as you can capture her, we might be able to let the Divine Phoenix Sect Surrender to us without any fighting." Ling Yun transferred his orders to Gu Xian using the AV device.
