His eerie silence engulfs us in such a way that neither me nor Dustin make an effort to speak up. We just sit there on the floor, gaping at the man, who keeps giving us a smile, but dark and hellish. I could tell that we were abducted unexpectedly by that look in his eyes, as his mind keeps functioning, trying to figure out what to do with us. 

Scratching his unshaved chin, he sits down on the cot, which creaks as he does. 

I realize how he only acted so overly-confident when we first met him, was because of Joey's attitude. He seemed scared when he saw this man, but tried his best to not seemed so phased. Maybe that triggered this strange person to such an extent that his voice rose higher and his demeanor became more bold. To show that he was in control. 

But right now, my heart didn't beat as fast as it did when I heard his footsteps approaching our direction. But that didn't mean he wasn't a threatening looking person.
