章節 6: Promise
It's been a few day since my encounter with Cynthia and summer camp is almost over. I haven't seen Ash in a while as we are separated by ages.
Cynthia likes to follow me around and challenge me to rematches but it always ends the same way. I think she just wants a friend.
I have made good progress with Totodile and he seems to really like me after a good amount of bribery, he's just a little blue glutton.
I'm glad I was able to catch him, I'll have another head start against other trainers since I can train him before I get my trainers license it's just that I can't challenge gyms, earn money from other trainers or use league funded services like Pokémon Centers.
I walked out my tent with Pikachu on my shoulder while Totodile jumps around ahead of me. We are headed to the forest to forage some berries as Totodile has eaten through all my reserves.
While scourging about Cynthia appears nearby and begins to walk over to me, "Alex!"
"Yes..?" I say while not even looking towards her
She pouts before walking over infront of me, "Today is the last day of summer camp."
"And...?"
"I want to battle you again!"
"No."
"—Eh?! Why not?!"
"We have already battled a bunch and it has ended up the same, if you want to hang out with me you can just ask." I say while turning towards her with a smile.
She blushes from embarrassment of being caught, "All right then, I'll help you pick berries."
The rest of the day proceeds with us talking and laughing about while picking berries and playing with our Pokémon.
The day has ended and all the kids are still outside to do stargazing. Cynthia decided to stay next to me since she can't find any other friends, while I'm indifferent other than seeing characters from the show in real life or Daisy but she didn't come.
I'm looking if there is any constellations similar to earth while Cynthia is completely zoned out staring at the stars.
"Hey Alex, do you believe in Legendary Pokémon?"
"Hm..? Ah, yeah."
"I'm my hometown we have stories about the Legendary Creation Trio who created the world.."
"...Ah I know about them, Dialga, Palkia and Giratina."
"Eh, you've heard of them..?!"
"Yep, I'm pretty knowledgeable of Legendaries, the Temporal Pokémon Dialga, the Spatial Pokémon Palkia and the Renegade Pokemon Giratina."
"Yep! My grandma researches them all the time, I hope I get to see one, one day!"
"If you want to see them you have to get stronger! Only then can you encounter them! Or be like me! Luck!"
"Yep! Your totally right—Eh!? Wait! You've seen a legendary!?"
"Hehe, I didn't just see one, it attacked me!"
"How are you alive!!"
"Pikachu saved me..."
"How?!"
"Well it all started with a Zapdos..."
"Zapdos!?"
"Shush! Let me finish......"
"...."
"...."

The next day I woke up with Cynthia hugging me on my side in the middle of a clearing we used last night.
All the other kids went back to their tent while me and Cynthia spoke to each other all night and ended up falling asleep in the clearing. I decide to not move and stay for awhile til I hear a noise and look over to my tent to see Pikachu coming out since he decided to stay in the tent last night.
Soon Cynthia starts to wake up from all the noise of the other kids and counselor waking up. She noticed she's outside before looking over at me. She stares at me right in the eyes for a noticeable amount of time before she snaps out of it and starts to blush.
"Morning."
"....m-morning.."
I sit up after she leaves my side and start to stretch. She won't look at me in the eyes other than sneaking glances every so often.
Soon the counselors tell everyone to start packing up and I head to my tent to take it down while Totodile finally wakes up and comes out of it.
I hand him some snacks to help wake him up and take my tent down before walking over to the counselors and other kids with Pikachu on my shoulder and Totodile skipping out ahead of me.
I finally spot Ash again as he camped out mostly by himself and I made my own food outdoors so I never saw him in the cafeteria.
I go to wave at him till I see a little blonde girl clinging to his side.. so, he found Serena aye..I head over towards them to introduce myself when Cynthia walks over to me.
"Hey, Cynthia."
"Hey, Alex.."
She seemed a bit sad, so I pat her on the head before moving on towards Ash.
"Hey, Ash!"
He turns around while Serena backs up behind him, "Ah, Alex!"
"Hey Ash, how was your trip."
"It was fun! I even made a friend!"
"So, who's this girl?"
"It my new friend Serena!"
"Nice to meet you Serena!"
"...nice to meet you too...."
"Serena, this is my big brother Alex!"
"Oh Ash, Serena, meet my new friend, Cynthia!"
We all have introductions and such and talk for a while before we all get ready to leave.
Me and Ash separate from them and Serena and Cynthia seem very sad.
Cynthia talks to me for a while before she almost started to cry. I give her a hug and tell her that we'll meet again.
She nods her head before saying, "I still have to beat you so we better meet again!"
I smile at her and reply, "Definitely, you better become champion of Sinnoh at that time or you won't be able to challenge me."
She gives me a bright smile before nodding, "I will!"
I stuck out my pinkie, "Promise?"
She wraps my pinkie with her own before giving a wide smile with a nod, "Promise!"
