My body was covered with such carefulness even I would not be able to recognize a picture of me if a picture of me was shown to me. So i feared not. Even if someone should see me now they will not be able to recognize me
It was his idea. To cover up so well that no one would fathom that i was the one they saw going into questionable places.
I would dress up at home then hide a long scarf which belonged to my mum in my bag anytime i was setting out on a journey to meet with him.
Then I'll rap it around me immediately i entered the bus taking me to a whole different state than the one i lived in. He liked to play very safe and the adrenaline rush it caused me was out of this world.
To have an illicit affair was dangerous and forbidden but to have it with a priest? Oh you cannot even begin to imagine the danger, the thrill, the adrenaline.
Thinking about this i smiled mischievously to myself. A rush of confidence and power coerced through my veins as i walked further into the resort with sureness in my steps, focus in my eyes and wonder in my heart. I was walking into heaven's gate.
The receptionist looked at me like she knew me. At first the recognition in her eyes when i walked in through the door scared the hell out of me.
Thump
Thump.
My heart started to race. What if she knew me? What if she recognized me? What if she tells my mother?
She couldn't have known me from anywhere could she? I was scared, why did she look at me like that? With that smile that hid with it a thousand words and even more knowledge.
But there was no way that she knew me. No way right? Anyway i couldn't afford to start panicking so i took further steps into the reception while closing the door gently.
Thump
Thump
"Good afternoon Ma." I greeted when i reached the reception table. I held on to my scarf to make sure that the breeze did not cause it to shift and reveal a part of me that could aid recognition.
She smiled broadly. "Good afternoon my dear. Who are you here for."
"Thomas." I stuttered shuffling both feet. "Thomas ma." I repeated immediately, more confidently.
"Oh Thomas!" She related with a hint of amusement in her voice. I didn't understand what she found so funny but her whom demeanor made me feel very uncomfortable. Luckily for me it ended soon.
"Take the stairs it's on the first floor. Room 3."
"Thank you ma." I said while i walked away before she could even reply.
