I know. The ability that I choose will determine how exactly I start the FF. Because different abilities are usually best utilized under different circumstances. Like probability manipulation. Choosing that will basically start at Cadmus Labs season 1. Not really a fan of Vector Manipulation.

sorry i'm replying late. first case scenario, he will blow up from an overload. That's way too much to absorb and digest. I haven't even stated the fact that absorbing too much Chi from a dark spirit can turn the MC dark, influence his mind, rationality and turn him into a mindless killing machine that destroys everything he comes across. This is not simply speculation. Based on the nature of dark spirits and the consequences of fighting them written on the Avatar wiki, it could really happen. Two, suppose he did manage to find a way to absorb anything, then basically his body would carry out a metamorphosis of sorts. once again, assuming it doesn't kill him once again. Three, The spirit will basically die. Because spirits can't be killed according to Avatar. they can only change form from one form to another. After the MC absorbs him, that won't happen again. The spirit will basically have whatever consciousness they previously possessed wiped out and after transforming the MC's physique to be something akin to part spirit, will become nothing more than a constant replenishable Chi supply. Anything that has no will of its own is not alive to begin with. Hope this answers your question. I originally planned something along these lines. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
