Yoshiki wasn't really fond of canon Deku, but Izumi's antics were kind of cute. He also felt a ping of sympathy, knowing what was coming around the corner. No matter what anyone else said, though, she'd still have him. Yoshiki wasn't going to judge Izumi for something that she couldn't even control.

That is complete and utter BS. It's a well-known fact that the Byakugan is coveted by many people, ranging from individuals to entire villages, but even then, the only one we know who succeeded in acquiring a Byakugan is Ao. However, that's just in the Post-Shinobi Village Era. In the Warring States Period on the other hand? A LONG PERIOD OF TIME that's so chaotic and bloody that they had to literally call it the "Warring States Period"? It would be unrealistic to believe that the Hyuga Clan didn't produce ninjas on the level of Hiruzen or even near the level of Madara and Hashirama. Otherwise, stubborn enemies would've fought a bloody battle just to get a handful of Main House Byakugans. While the Otsutsuki Bloodline is thinning out, it's the same with the Senju and Uchiha Clan; the only thing that makes the Senju and Uchiha Clan stronger are the Ashura and Indra's reincarnations. The best explanation for the Hyuga Clan's inability to produce Kage-level ninjas after the founding of Konoha is that their Cage Bird Seal has started becoming a curse not only to the Branch House Members but to the Main House Members as well - Not physically of course, but spiritually (cause the Naruto World is still mystical and all that). Also, although Hamura Otsutsuki is weaker than Hagoromo Otsutsuki, it wouldn't be strange if he could interfere with the Hyuga Clan's fate if wanted to.
That's a big deal because no one in the Hyuga clan had ever reached that level of strength, at least according to the clan's written records.
