Why not wish for genius intellect and research on his own. It's much more secure that way. There should be cloning techniques as far as I remember. Even if it doesn't exist, nothing is stopping him from creating his own clone technique with the genius intellect that he wished for. A quick check confirmed that my Intelligence had indeed increased. Just like that, my stats were already improving. The power of the Gamer system was clear: a significant initial boost, with the potential for exponential growth if utilized properly. Most fanfictions I'd read about the Gamer either rushed the protagonist into the main plot or forced them into a time crunch, limiting their growth. But I had something most of those characters didn't—time.

That's what I thought too. However the author himself said that he had to do "side quests" to get the prize or something. If MC attacks the mutant facility he will most likely get Essex's or even Apocalypse's attention, this is probably how he intends to progress the "plot". Although the chances are low, why would you not spend a couple of months studying the serum after getting the funds? Instead you have to act reckless in a world where eldritch beings are plenty.
