Chương 100: Luciano, the vampire
As Lyra, Elias, and Cherry entered the Nachtschatten, they were immediately overwhelmed by the pulsing, hypnotic beat of the trance music that filled the air. The vast music hall was a sea of writhing bodies and flashing lights, the very walls seeming to throb with the intensity of the sound.
Cherry, her face set with grim determination, turned to her companions. "Put these in," she instructed, handing them each a pair of earplugs. "The music here isn't just for show. It's laced with an essence technique that can put you under their control if you're not careful."
Lyra felt a shiver run down her spine as she inserted the earplugs, the sudden muffling of the music bringing a sense of eerie calm to the chaos around them. She could feel the sinister intentions of the Sanguines in the club, their essence a tangible force that pressed against her own.
Elias, sensing her unease, took her hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "We've got this, Lyra. Together, we can face anything."
With a nod of thanks, Lyra steeled herself for the task ahead. They had to find the shipment of Euphoria, and they had to do it fast.
As they made their way through the crowded club, Lyra couldn't help but notice the familiar faces of her fellow students among the revelers. It was a jarring sight, seeing the people she had once called friends rubbing elbows with the very criminals they were trying to stop.
Cherry, noticing Lyra's discomfort, leaned in close to be heard over the music. "It's crazy, isn't it? Seeing so many of our own here, caught up in this madness. But we can't let that distract us. Euphoria is poison, plain and simple. It doesn't matter what lies the Nightfall Mafia tells to make it seem appealing. We know the truth, and we're going to put a stop to it."
Lyra nodded, her resolve hardening with every step. Using her essence technique, she focused her senses on the composition of the Euphoria tonic, trying to pick up its unique signature among the swirling energies of the club.
Suddenly, she felt it - a pulsing, sickly-sweet essence that made her stomach turn. "There," she said, pointing to a heavily guarded door at the back of the club. "That's where they're keeping the shipment."
Without hesitation, Elias and Cherry followed Lyra's lead, pushing their way through the crowd with a newfound sense of purpose. They had to get to that room, no matter what stood in their way.
But as they burst through the door, they found themselves face to face with a familiar figure. Luciano, the Nightfall Mafia's enforcer, stood before them, his eyes narrowing with suspicion as he recognized Lyra and Elias despite their disguises.
"Well, well, well," he drawled, his voice dripping with menace. "If it isn't my favorite party crashers. If you're looking to score some Euphoria, I'm afraid you're out of luck. This is a private party, and you're not on the guest list."
