"...and I chose to face it," I finished, my voice steady but burdened with the gravity of the decision. The hall, alive with celebration, felt like a stark contrast to the storm raging inside me.
Draupadi's eyes searched mine, her expression shifting from concern to resolve. She knew the implications as well as I did. Her lips pressed into a thin line before she spoke, her tone quiet but cutting through the noise around us.
"You've spoken to Amba, haven't you?"
I nodded, and her jaw tightened. She glanced at the courtiers around us, then back at me. "We should speak of this elsewhere," she said, rising gracefully. Her movements betrayed none of the turmoil I knew she must feel. Draupadi had always been a master of poise.
