Chương 1: Beginning(1)

Opening his eyes, John saw a pink house with the words Kame House in big red letters. Looking around, he noticed that he was on a small island with beautiful cerulean skies and very clear water calmly moving through the surface. The perfect temperature, the stable weather, and the refreshing air that was slightly chilly made a great first impression on him but it didn't answer the questions that were appearing in his head. Why did it happen? It should be hell or heaven after death right? Not hijacking somebody's body? It doesn't make sense.

John had no idea where he was but he was certain that he was killed in action during a massive gunfight between the police and a large gang. Just when it ended and he thought that all the gang members were dead or subdued, a gun discharged and everything went black. His relaxed state after the battle lowered his vigilance and caused a miscalculation that made John bitter because now his life was completely over due to it.

An absence of a wife, children, friends, and a clear goal shaped John to be rather anti-social in the police force but it was his moral values that were instilled into him from his late parents and himself that kept him going. While others rested and enjoyed life, John was always doing something; never did he stop for a single moment because it was the only thing in his life that had meaning. Regardless, the thought of his death made him a little sour but it also made him appreciate life a little more. The only solace he found in his demise was that it was very painless and not as dramatic as he thought.

Now, he was somewhere he doesn't recognize and has no idea what to do about it. He guessed that he transmigrated to another's body since he doesn't recognize the clothes, the skin color as he was a little tan, and this beautiful location. Trying to comprehend his situation further, he felt something weird in his body. A sensation that was familiar and yet so unknown to him circulated throughout his body.

Shortly, he obtained some of the memories from a guy called Goku who was the original owner of John's current body. Perceiving these memories amazed him and managed to make him cringe slightly. Martial arts in this world is astounding and the powers associated with Ki is shocking. The capabilities of Ki are enough to make him a planet level threat and he still had room for growth. John thought that this was way too crazy and started to tense up a little bit as he knew that there are possibly many individuals out there who might possess this power.

However, what made him cringe was the level of intelligence and ignorance the original owner possessed. Seriously. What kind of dumb luck did this Goku have to let him have such a beautiful wife? She was kind of rough since Goku couldn't get his crap together but at least she was responsible. And how did Goku even get this far without any education? God must love the foolish.

Feeling a light tug on his pants, he looked down to see a young boy with a red hat and an orange ball. Then he realized that the kid pulling on his pants was his son called Gohan. Seeing his confused face, John registered the fact that he was a father now and he had no idea what to do. There was never really a long-lasting relationship in his life, much less a kid so how was he going to last today?

Picking up Gohan, John stared at him. Gohan had no idea what was going on as he tilted his head in uncertainty and quietly stared back at his father with the occasional blinking. This small staredown was interrupted when a Goku heard a voice. Turning to his left, he saw a few people coming out of the house with smiles on their faces; all of which were both close and foreign to him.

?: "Heyyyy Gokuu. Long time no see." said the woman as she started to approach Goku with a wave.

John: 'So the blue-haired woman is Bulma.' He thought. 'Blue hair? There are people with naturally blue hair?'

?: "Yeah Goku. Did you forget us?" added in the short baldie.

John: 'This one must be Krillin.' Observing Krillin, he had a few more questions in his mind. 'First of all, where is his nose!?' Goku focused on Krillin's face area and saw what seems to be a tiny nose. 'He does have one. Strange...' He said mentally. 'Secondly, what are those six dots right above his eyebrows? Does he do any ritualistic practices? Maybe not. Perhaps it is from religion.' John stopped for a second. 'Is there even religion here?'

?: "Hehe Goku. You were quite busy ay, hehe." chuckled the old man.

John: 'Goku's teacher. Master Roshi. Super Pervert normally but a good person when necessary. Still having my kids away from though.' John then realized what he said. 'My kid? Wow. I guess I'm already adjusting.' "Hello everyone." he greeted. "Sorry I haven't been able to visit all of you. I've been adapting to my new circumstances." Immediately he knew he messed up because Goku would not act like this and say those words. His thoughts were confirmed the moment he looked up as he was met with strange looks. 'I think marriage is a good reason to be busy.'

Bulma: "Um... Goku are you okay? Did you catch a fever or something?" she said as she touched his forehead. John grabbed her hand lightly by the wrist and took it off his head.

John: "I am doing good. No fever." he replied politely. 'Even though I'm Goku now, I rather not act like him. That's just too much work and I'm not willing. Everyone will have to simply accept the change.' He pondered. 'Hopefully, they do.'

Bulma: "Alright then." she shrugged before smiling again. "What have you been up to these days?" she asked happily.

John: "Nothing grand. Just living life." he responded in his usual self.

Krillin: "That's good and all but could you explain the kid in your hands Goku? Are you like doing some babysitting or something?" There was a bit of curiosity in his tone. It was clear to John that nobody expected a child from Goku because he was Goku. A combat-loving, food-devouring airhead.

John: "Oh right." John acted casually. "This is my son, Gohan." John swore that he has never seen faces change so quick before. They were looking at Gohan and John like they were aliens or something. "Say hi Gohan." said John as he put Gohan down. 'I think that's how you introduce kids to your friends. God, I hope those movies were accurate.'

Gohan: "Hello, everyone." he bowed.

Everyone: "Hello." they bowed back. Roshi realized something.

Master Roshi: "Gohan? So you named him after your grandfather. That's nice. I'm sure that your grandpa would be very proud." He smiled.

John: "Yes. Thank you." His responses sent even more ripples through everyone's mind. They just couldn't understand why Goku was this calm and composed person right now. Was it because of his marriage, or his son, or something else? Bulma walked to Gohan and lowered herself.

Bulma: "Hi Gohan." Gohan looked at her. "How old are you?" Gohan took his hand out and started counting his fingers.

Gohan: "Um four and a half." This cute action got a giggle from Bulma.

Bulma: "Are you going to become a strong fighter like your dad?" she said as she gently rubbed Gohan's hat.

Gohan: "No. Mom doesn't let me train." he replied as he looked down.

Bulma: "Oh. So what are you going to be in the future?" she maintained her smile that kept Gohan at ease and he felt that he wasn't too nervous talking to this person.

Gohan: "Uh. An orthopedist." he felt shy when he voiced that. 'It's more like what mom wants me to do but I guess it counts.'

Bulma: "Wow. An orthopedist, huh." she lightly said as she saw a tail moving behind Gohan's back. Gohan then saw a huge turtle approach him and hid behind John's leg. He then slowly extended his hand to touch the turtle and the turtle lowered his head and let Gohan pet it. 'Oh my gosh!! A tail!!' "Goku! Has anything strange ever happened with Gohan at night?" John was really confused.

John: "What do you mean?" When he searched Goku's memory, he couldn't understand what she was talking about and this tail business also piqued his curiosity. Roshi asked a question right after.

Master Roshi: "She means has Gohan ever looked at the Moon? When it's full?" John noticed that all of them looked agitated. Like something very serious would happen if Gohan looked at the moon at night.

John: "No. He doesn't get the chance to as we go to bed pretty early." They all looked at Gohan riding on the turtle. "Any particular reason you mentioned this matter?"

Master Roshi: "Eh? No no. No reason." he said nervously. Krillin immediately changed the topic.

Krillin: "Well. He seems a lot different than you when you were younger. I'm guessing Chi-Chi is the reason for that." John nodded in acknowledgment but he still wanted to know what they were talking about previously. Before he got to do that, Bulma noticed something shiny on Gohan's head.

Bulma: "Say. Is that a dragon ball?" she asked.

John: "Yeah. It's the one that my grandpa had. I collected it for fun along with 3-star ball and the 6-star ball." 'Dragon balls. Collect seven of them. Get wishes. Got it.' he said to himself as he reviewed another portion of Goku's memories. 'Although what Goku did is just dangerous. He let his son have the 4-Star ball? Doesn't that make him a target for people who wants to use Shenron? What the hell is wrong with him? And why are all of them avoiding the topic of Gohan looking at the moon?' Soon, Goku felt something. Something coming to his location at high speeds. He couldn't understand this feeling but Goku's experiences allowed these feelings to integrate with him and let his mind catch up.

Looking at the direction, he spotted a person with long hair arriving and then he landed right in front of Goku.

?: "It has been a long time hasn't it Kakarot." spoke the man.
