The next day, Thomas woke up feeling more determined than ever. He knew he had to tell Latia about what had happened with her main family, despite the risks involved.
As he got ready for the day, Thomas tried to act as if nothing had happened around his parents. He didn't want to worry them any further, especially with problems that neither one of them could help him.
After breakfast, Thomas made his way to his room and closed the door. He sat down at his desk and pulled out a piece of parchment and a quill. He quickly scribbled a message to Latia, explaining that he needed to speak with her and asking if she was available to meet with him. He rolled up the parchment and tied it with a ribbon before placing it in an envelope. He addressed the envelope to Latia's house and sealed it with wax.
Thomas took out his wand and held it over the envelope. He closed his eyes and focused his magic, picturing a magical circle in his mind. He waved his wand, and a circle of light appeared on his desk. He placed the envelope in the center of the circle and recited a spell that he had learned from Bahamut. The circle glowed brighter, and Thomas could feel his magic reaching out to Latia.
After a few moments, the circle dimmed, and the envelope was gone. Thomas hoped that Latia had received his message and that she would be willing to meet with him.
As Thomas waited anxiously in his room, he suddenly felt a strange energy filling the air. He looked up and saw a magical circle forming in the center of his room. He watched in amazement as the circle grew larger and larger until it filled the entire space. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the center of the circle, and Thomas recognized it immediately as Latia.
"Tom!" Latia exclaimed, a big smile on her face. "I'm so happy to see you!"
Thomas couldn't help but feel relieved that she had received his message and had come to see him. "Latia, I'm happy to see you too," he said, trying to keep his voice steady.
Latia walked over to him and gave him a big hug. "Of course, Tom. Anything for you. What's going on? Is everything okay?"
Thomas took a deep breath and began to explain the situation to her. He told her about the devils he and Mars had fought and how they were connected to her main family. He explained that they had made enemies with the Astaroth family and that they were likely to face more danger in the future.
Latia listened intently, her expression growing more and more serious as he spoke. "I had no idea," she said when he finished. "Thank you for telling me, Tom. I need to talk to my family and figure out what's going on."
Thomas nodded. "I'm sorry for hiding this from you. I just couldn't keep it from you anymore."
"It's okay, Tom," Latia said, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We're in this together. And we'll find a way to deal with this together."
Thomas felt a wave of relief wash over him. He was grateful for Latia's understanding and support. He smiled at her. "Thank you, Latia. I knew I could count on you."
Latia smiled back at him. "Always, Tom. You're my friend, and I'll do whatever I can to help you."
After that, they chatted for a while longer, catching up on each other's lives. They talked about school, their families, and what they have been doing in the past four months. For a moment, Thomas almost forgot about the danger they were facing. It was nice to have a moment of normalcy amidst all the chaos. Eventually, Latia had to leave. She gave Thomas one last hug before stepping back into the magical circle.
"Take care, Tom. See you later," she said before disappearing through the portal. Thomas watched the circle fade away, feeling both grateful and anxious. He was glad he had told Latia the truth, but he couldn't help but wonder what would happen next.
As soon as Latia disappeared through the magic circle, Thomas was left alone in his room. Suddenly, a voice interrupted his thoughts. [Thomas,] Bahamut said, appearing in front of him. [Are you sure you're ready to go through with this training? It won't be easy, and it may put you in danger.]
He took a deep breath and considered the question carefully. "I know it won't be easy, Bahamut. But I have to do something to protect my friends. I can't just sit back and do nothing while they're in danger."
[I understand your desire to protect your friends, Thomas. But you must be careful. The path you will walk will be no game you can just quit when you want and how you want.]
Thomas swallowed nervously, realizing that he was in for a difficult journey. "I know, Bahamut. But I'm willing to do whatever it takes to protect my friends and family."
[Very well, then. I will begin your training soon.]
Without a warning, Thomas felt a sudden wave of dizziness wash over him, and his vision started to blur. He stumbled and tried to steady himself, but it was too late. He felt his body collapse onto his bed, and everything went black.
When Thomas regained consciousness, he found himself in a strange space. The area was vast, with mountains and rivers in the distance, and a beautiful sky overhead. Thomas looked around in wonder, trying to figure out where he was.
"Welcome to your new home, Thomas," Bahamut's voice echoed in his mind. "I have brought you here to train you in the art of combat. Here, you can train without fear of hurting anyone or being hurt yourself because you are trying to protect someone dear to you. Are you ready to begin?"
Thomas nodded eagerly, feeling a sudden surge of excitement and determination. "Yes. I'm ready to learn."
"Good. Now, let's start with the basics so that I could judge just how much work you have to put into your casting before we begin the real training." Bahamut said, summoning two wooden golems in front of Thomas. The golems were simple in design, but Thomas could tell they were magically enhanced. He could sense the energy emanating from them.
Bahamut had the golems demonstrate some simple moves. One of them had a wand, and it showed how to use the wand to cast spells quickly and with greater effect. The golem demonstrated a basic spell, Wingardium Leviosa, and Thomas watched as the wand moved gracefully in the golem's hand, levitating objects with ease.
"Now, Thomas, it's your turn," Bahamut said, handing Thomas a wand. "Try to cast Wingardium Leviosa on that bookshelf over there."
Thomas took the wand and focused his energy, visualizing the bookshelf lifting off the ground. He waved the wand, and the spell was cast. To his surprise, the bookshelf didn't budge. Thomas frowned, wondering what he was doing wrong.
Bahamut noticed Thomas's frustration and said, "You're not focusing your energy properly. You need to visualize the bookshelf lifting off the ground and feel the energy flowing from your wand to the object. It's not as easy as lifting a feather, is it? Now, try again."
Thomas took a deep breath and focused his energy again, visualizing the bookshelf lifting off the ground. He waved the wand and cast the spell once more. This time, the bookshelf slowly lifted off the ground, hovering in the air for a few seconds before gently coming back down.
"Well done, Thomas," Bahamut said, nodding approvingly. "Now, let's move on to some physical combat training."
One of the golems then pulled out a dagger and handed it to Thomas. "You've had some training before, but we need to hone your skills. I'll teach you how to fight against different low-class beings. You'll use both your wand and this dagger ."
Thomas took the dagger and felt its weight in his hand. It was well-balanced and had a sharp edge. He looked up at Bahamut and nodded, ready to begin his training.
The two golems moved towards him, their wooden bodies creaking with each step. Thomas took a deep breath and raised his wand, focusing on the spells he had learned at Hogwarts. He cast a quick "Expelliarmus!" at the golem with the wand, causing it to drop its weapon.
Thomas then lunged forward with the dagger, aiming for the golem's weak spot. He struck the golem on its head, causing it to shatter into pieces. The other golem swung its arms at Thomas, but he quickly dodged and cast "Stupefy!" with his wand, knocking it to the ground.
Bahamut nodded approvingly. "Good job, Thomas. But don't let your guard down yet."
The training continued for hours, with Bahamut summoning different low-class beings for Thomas to fight against. Thomas used a variety of charms and spells, and he became more skilled with the dagger as well. He learned how to identify the weaknesses of different creatures and how to use his surroundings to his advantage.
As the training progressed, Thomas grew more confident in his abilities. He felt the adrenaline pumping through his veins as he fought against the different creatures summoned by Bahamut. He learned how to use his wand to cast spells in quick succession, combining them with his dagger attacks to take down his opponents.
At one point, Bahamut summoned a group of fallen angels for Thomas to face. These were more challenging opponents, and Thomas had to use all of his skills to defeat them. He cast "Protego" to shield himself from their attacks and "Impedimenta" to slow them down. He also used his dagger to strike at their weak points, taking them down one by one. But then, one of the fallen angels managed to get past him. It was faster and stronger than the others, and no matter what spell he threw at it, the fallen angel always managed to dodge it. Thomas tried to cast another spell, but the angel was too quick, dodging out of the way. It lunged toward Thomas, aiming to strike him with its sword.
He raised his dagger to defend himself, but he knew that he was outmatched. The angel's strength was too much for him to handle. He tried to back away, but the angel was relentless, closing in on him with each step.
Suddenly, a bright light surrounded Thomas. He felt a strange sensation as if his body was being lifted off the ground. The angel stopped in its tracks, looking around in confusion. That's when Thomas realized that Bahamut had intervened. He had used his powers to stop the angel from reaching him just in time.
"Thomas, you must focus," Bahamut's voice echoed in his mind. "You must learn to anticipate your opponent's moves and use your environment to your advantage. Use the terrain to create traps and surprise your enemy. And remember, your wand is a powerful tool. Don't underestimate its potential."
Thomas took a deep breath and focused his attention back on the fallen angel. He watched as it approached him again, its sword raised high. Thomas quickly cast "Diffindo" to slash at its armor, but the angel dodged and countered with a lightning spear. Thomas dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the attack.
The fallen angel continued to press forward, its attacks become more aggressive and precise. Thomas tried to keep up, but he was beginning to tire. He knew he needed to end the fight soon or risk being defeated.
In a last-ditch effort, Thomas charged forward with his dagger, ready to strike. But the fallen angel was too quick, and it countered with a powerful blow from its sword. Thomas was knocked to the ground, his wand and dagger flying out of his hands.
The fallen angel stood over him, its sword pointed at his chest. "You fought well, mortal," it said, its voice cold and menacing. "But in the end, you are no match for me."
Thomas looked up at the angel, his chest heaving with exertion. He knew he had failed, but he refused to give up. With a sudden burst of energy, he lunged forward, grabbing his dagger and plunging it into the angel's chest.
The angel let out a deafening scream as it fell to the ground, its body turning to ash. Thomas stood up, his body shaking with adrenaline and fatigue. He had won, but only just barely.
"Good job, Thomas," Bahamut said, appearing beside him. "You have much to learn, but you are making progress."
Thomas smiled at Bahamut's words, feeling a surge of determination to improve his skills even further. He was about to thank Bahamut for his guidance when his consciousness suddenly started to fade away. The world around him became hazy and blurry, and he could feel himself being pulled back to his physical body.
As he slowly opened his eyes, Thomas realized that he was back in his room. He sat up, feeling a bit disoriented from the experience. But the memory of the training session with Bahamut was still fresh in his mind. He remembered the different creatures he had fought against, the spells and charms he had used, and the advice that Bahamut had given him.
Thomas knew that he still had a lot to learn, but he felt more confident in his abilities than ever before. With a determined look on his face, Thomas got up from his bed and started to practice the moves that he had learned in his training session. He knew that he had a long way to go before he would be ready to face the dangers that lay ahead, but he was ready for the challenge.
