Chương 65: A Baby Target
"Get a hold of yourself!..your friend will be alright"
Gerald raised his eyes to meet General Fushin's before following them to where Zero lay at the foot of a tree guided by three knights.
He dropped the heart and stared at his blood drenched hands.
His eyes scanned his surroundings, meeting those of a few other knights whose eyes remained fixed on him.
Gerald's eyes fell on the hole he had dug in it's chest before studying the pieces of flesh littered around it.
He Gulped in thick saliva before taking few steps backwards from the mess.
"Ta...take care of....Ze...Zero...I_I have to find the Em..peror"Gerald stammered.
He took one last look at Zero before Vanishing from sight.

The two maids eyed Mia's pocket knife for a while before slowly backing away as she approached them.
"Let's get outta here!"one said grabbing the other's arm.
"I can't believe you carry a pocket knife around"she said while hesitating as the other maid pulled her arm.
Mia grinned.
"Just incase I run into people like you too...now run along before I change my mind to attack,your presence here quickly drains my patience,who knows when it might run out"
"Let's go"the maid said pulling her arm even harder.
The maid glared at mia and without further hesitation she turned in the other direction and ran off with the other maid.
Mia sighed and walked towards the spot where Ramses was.
She parted the tall rice grains but Ramses was gone.
Mia sniffed in the air and her eyes followed her nose to observe movement in the grains some distance away.
She vanished and reappeared at the spot to find the baby crawling.
It stared at her with a startled pair of eyes before a smile formed on his lips.
"I saved your ass and this is your own way of thanking me?... Running away?"
Ramses took a sitting position and began sucking on his hand his smile growing even wider.
"Look.... I don't know whose baby you are but I know whoever owns you must be looking for you along with some others for some reason_"
She picked him up and stared at his silver hair before sniffing at him.
"...for some reason and for some reason you don't look a normal demon to me"
Mia loosened her apron with one hand and threw it over him before her eyes studied her surroundings.
She couldn't remember the last time she used a vanishing magic back then and even now she didn't sense any demon's presence around.
Most maids if not all in the palace are demons who couldn't use magic and no one knew of her abilities.
But when the time comes,she was certain what's secret now would eventually come to light.
Mia walked out of the grain field and through the empty passage way,her eyes alert and wary of her surroundings.
Whatever this child was,his unusual aura was so strong she was sure any demon with their range of smell would sense it.
She could have teleported herself to her room but she barely had any magic energy remaining.
If she did,it would drain her for sure.
Mia reached the servant's quarters and hid by the wall as she waited for two approaching palace guards to go the other way.
Not to her surprise they stopped and sniffed in the air.
"What is that weird smell".one said before they both turned in her direction.
"And Strong alluring aura".
"It's coming from over there"
They nodded to signal each other before walking towards her.
Mia bit her lip and eyed the baby she held who froze, staring ahead with widened eyes as if understanding the situation.
She had known earlier taking the child to her room without being seen by anyone would be an almost impossible task but who would have thought she would first run into palace guards at the Servants quarters.
Mia sighed and vanished to appear in her room with the child in her hand, panting rentlessly.
She sat on her bed and stared at the baby, watching him play with her hair.
Even in her room here she knew he still wasn't safe.
If there were demons out there for him soon enough they would come looking.
She could just aboundon him an make a run for it but she couldn't bring herself to do such to something like him.
Something so_pure....
"Tsssskkk!!A demon pure?..."Mia hissed"I must be going crazy"she quickly shook off the thought and just then she remembered something she had hid in her closet.
Mia placed Ramses on the bed and ran to her closet,then she swung it's doors open.
She sqatted low and began throwing out a couple of items from it till her hands felt the item she was after.
She took it out and kissed it.
Before it was banned in Delvin she had mistakenly picked a few in Sentah while looking for medicinal herbs for her mistress and since this particular herb had no scent she decided to keep it before later finding out what it was used for.
Fripju lily she heard could mask a demon's scent.
Although withered,she hoped it would be sufficient enough to mask the child's odd scent leaving alone only his aura to deal with.
Mia placed it beside Ramses who had now fallen asleep before climbing into bed.
A knock on the door made her eyes fly open,only then did she realize she had dozed off.
Mia sat up and rubbed a pair of sleepy eyes before allowing them to travel to the direction of the door.
She turned to look at the baby who was still asleep.
She eyed the door again before laying on the bed once more,hoping the person would go away.
After a brief moment,the Knocking persisted,only louder this time.
"Arrrggghhh!"Mia grumbled softly as she forcefully sat up.
If the knocking continued,the baby would wakeup hungry or even worse,crying and she wasn't up for baby troubles,not yet.
She angrily stalked towards the door, turned the door knob and opened it to see Queen Aries.
