Chương 66: A Royal command declined by a commoner
The scorching sun's shimmering hot beams of light rays streamed down the sky,the floor of the forest sheilded by the leaves of the tall trees which stretched out as far as the land below it except a small area of land somewhere in the middle of the forest,barren from a forest fire ignated years ago.
Ren wasn't the least bothered by the hot sun which sent beads of sweat running down his chin as he followed in pursuit after the archer who had shot the arrow earlier, teleporting halfway after flying for some distance.
As he flew, nothing irked him more than the sweat drenching the collar of his garment.
At intervals he looked down at the rim of his collar getting even more annoyed at the sight as he did.
The dirt and sweat had and turned the spotless white colour into something light brown and he wasn't in a shape to handle cooling his body just yet.
He could smell the imposter clearly and he knew exactly who it was,he could never miss that scent for anything.
The sound from the impact his foot on the trees he handed on after reappearing as he teleported through the forest was as loud as ever.
Being a Grandmaster tier demon,the highest tier which no demon ever attained,not even the emperor,he could sense even the drop of a needle from a very far distance if he wanted to.
His level of cultivation wasn't his only secret however, unbeknownst to any demon in Delvin he could only be in Grandmaster level because he was a different kind of demon.
The Emperor's level still remaind the highest any demon in Delvin could cultivate up to and he was the only known Lord tier,that explained why he was feared as the Strongest demon in Delvin.
The imposter was fast,but not as fast as he was even with the poison in him.
He was closing in on him fast and still wondered why he fled when he knew he couldn't escape being caught by him.
He knew Dark wouldn't have been after Gerald for no reason except the knight knew something about their plans and they didn't want word out so they were trying to kill him.
But he wouldn't let anyone harm the emperor's family anymore.
Gerald wasn't of imperial blood but he knew well how the emperor loved him.
After the damage Fiona's death ripped in his heart, Gerald's death would surely break him further.
He wasn't intent on fighting Dark but he wanted to warn him,he would do the same to anyone who came after Tyran's family.
As Ren flew through the forest trees,he filtered the poison from his blood, spitting it along the way.
The emperor's Knight would he knew would have been dead had he been a second late because he was certain he couldn't use the blood technique to filter his blood,if not he would have been a goner by now.
As Dark increased his speed,so did Ren.
He spat in fraustration as his brows furrowed.
The filteration process and remnant of the poison in him slowed him down,slower than his magic would have taken him.
He wondered if dark was racing across the forest to tire him out so he would at least have a chance against him.
The thought made Ren smirk as he wiped off a small amount of spittle from the side of his lips.
Dark had began increasing his teleporting speed every minute despite knowing well he couldn't escape from him.
It both angered and irked him.
Ren descended with fury in his eyes,his black wings relapsing behind him.
He crouched and touched the ground with his palm then his eyes glowed with a golden light.
Soul sight let him see through the part of the forest Dark had taken till he found him.
The sorcerer had stopped moving and was waiting on a large tree not too far from where he was.
Only then did he realize the sorcerer had been running in his range of smell and soul sight on purpose,if he really wanted to flee he would have opened a portal for Delvin.
He had been playing chase with him.

Mia curtsied to greet Queen Aries,her eyes unable to conceal her surprise.
"Your majest_"
"My son!...you have him..oh thank Goodness."
She grinned widely through a watery set of eyes beaming with hope and gratitude.
Mia raised her head eying her.
"Your....son?"
"Yes my son_"
"Bu...but there's nobody here_"
"Hussshh! now before you face the consequences of lying to a Royal...I am his mother...do you think I could mistake the aura of my own seed?"
"Your magesty forgive my rudeness but I never knew you had a child yet"Mia said as her gaze dropped to Queen Aries's protruding stomach.
"My goodness..."Queen paused to look sideways before she continued.
"Can't you see.... he's different that's why I kept him hidden oh Lord...that maidservant owes me her head for letting him out like this".
Queen Aries said before attempting to push the door to find her way inside but Mia gripped it just in time.
"Your magesty...I don't recall you living in the Imperial palace,your castle sits nowhere around here...why would you bring a child u desire to stay hidden all the way out here".
Queen Aries lips thinned as she clenched her fists, knowing she had been caught.
Why would this particular maid be too smart for a maid.
She raised her chin and her facial expression hardened.
"Hand him over!!....it's an order!..I have nothing to explain to a mere maid servant"
"Your magesty I respectfully decline such orders"Mia said as she bowed her head.
"How dare!!.."Queen Aries made a move to slap her but she stopped midway and inhaled deeply.
"You seem not to trust my claims...you must take me for a liar"
"Not so your magesty....forgive me if it seemeth that way to you,after this you may punish me as you deem necessary but I cannot hand him over right now"Mia responded still not raising her head.
Queen Aries's hand slowly travelled to her back where she hid the knife in her dress, slowly parting the fabric to take hold of its wooden head as she carefully observed Mia's lowered head.
When she had a firm grip of the knife she slowly lowered her hand then swiftly thrusted forward,targeting Mia's Abdomen.
