Chương 11: Necrontyr Negotiations and Quantum Organics

The Necrontyr homeworld is a barren waste of a planet where no life seems to thrive. The architecture and art of the Necrontyr people were also heavily focused on death. This combination resulted in gigantic artistic tombs which took the place of normal cities. These tombs would generally be the resting places of high-ranking Phaerons, which would be turned into a habitable living zone for the Necrontyr people. The design suggested the Necrontyr's struggle against death, providing for their subjects even after they die.

Weklor's impression of the Necrontyr's homeworld was of distaste. The green star which was supposed to be the cradling instrument of new life was poison to the planet. The Necrontyr people had their genes become fragile due to generations under such a putrid sun. After arriving here, he did not let the Grand Archon guards follow him into the Triarch palace and chose to meet with them alone out of concern and the lack of proper equipment onboard to handle such high levels of radiation.

Weklor's meeting with the three rulers of the Necrontyr race seemed to have started well enough. The Phareon rulers discussed the culture of the Necrontyr and the reason for their large tomb worlds dedicated to the dead. Weklor discussed his people's culture of honor contribution and the advancements made due to this culture in the research of Immaterium technologies. However, when Weklor further discussed the Immaterium technologies of his people, the Triarch seemed completely fixated on the immortal technology. With much tact, the Phareons would find ways to divert the discussion to focus on the immortal technology.

He had already been here for two whole days, and the Phareons still had not given up their intent to discuss the technology. Weklor had even made it abundantly clear that the technology was useless for their people because they did not possess psykers which bore a connection to the Immaterium. But the rulers did not believe him, thinking that the technology was closely guarded. He had finally had enough of their bothering and decided he should end the first diplomatic discussions early otherwise he might show his temper from frustration.

And yet, even as he was leaving, the Phareons still attempted to approach the topic of the Old One's Immortality.

"Honored One Weklor, our Silent King, hopes you reconsider sharing the immortal technology of your people. You once came to us, claiming that your people are kind to all life. " One of the three Necrontyr Monarchs, Mesophet, asked forcefully.

"I have already made myself clear! We will not share this with you. It is useless for your race." Weklor answered, annoyed.

The Necrontyr had a ruling situation where they had three ruling Phaerons for each dynasty, but among them, there was one Phaeron that ruled above the other two. This Phaeron was called the silent king by the Necrontyr people and he only addressed outsiders through the two Monarchs who ruled alongside him. Hapthatra and Mesophet were the two phaerons Weklor had spent all this time speaking with.

"My people are under no obligation to give out the millennium of efforts because you asked. You cannot even use the technology! Giving it to you would be like exposing a needless weakness. Is this your true goal?" Weklor said, his own anger rising.

"You will regret not cooperating," Mesophet said, ominously.

"Is that a threat?" Weklor said, laughing slightly out of anger.

"Honored Weklor, please understand, this is our longest-standing hope-" Hapthatra began to persuade, but was cut off midsentence.

"I have already given my answer," Weklor stated as he entered his landing ship to leave.

The two Phaerons glanced at each other, and then back at their king behind them, but said nothing as Weklor left in peace. But this peace would not remain for much longer, as the Triarch made an important decision and broadcast it throughout the entire empire. The Necrontyr dynasties spread throughout the galaxy and were told of the Old One's, immortality technology, and given a common enemy to unite for. For the sake of their race, the Triach declared war.

...

An artificial subdimension inside the Immaterium, Pandamonium.

Slagar, the Webweaver, was lying unconscious next to his teacher, the Great Spirit Arlow while Arlow performed a surgical operation on his open skull. Arlow had been working with the Old Ones for more than a million years now. They had both benefited a lot from the cooperation, especially when Arlow spoke with the Old One known as Gorvor, the inventor of the title technology.

Arlow had been working on an advancement of his Quantum-matter in the direction of Quantum-organics. He had hit a limit when attempting to transform Quantum-matter into anything other than the silver sand particles that could exist in the Immaterium. However, this changed after his student created the Webway. The Webway made use of the gap between the folded space of the Immaterium, to stabilize the silver sands into various energy-elements.

These insights led the way for him to further develop Quantum-matter. He cooperated with Slagar in order to transform a secondary subdimension, with more varied spacial foldings, to allow for a more diverse palette of Quantum-matter that could be stabilized within it. They called this crafting subdimension, Pandamonium. The dimension's spacial folds were irregular and would slowly change every few days, expanding and contracting. This caused the various Quantum-matter inside it to alter states and many other changes throughout it. One day, Pandamonium is a vast ocean of mercury, then the next it is the surface of a dwarf star in temperature.

Thankfully, Slagar and Arlow had managed to produce a stable living pace for beings that remained static, in the core of Panamonium. Here, they recorded and produced various energy-matter until finally able to reconstruct organic cells from the bottom up. Slagar proved to be an equal partner in the experiments, finally surpassing Arlow in some areas of knowledge. With both of them working together, they had designed an artificial organic gland that could be implanted in an Old One's brain, to enable a dramatic increase in energy transformation from the Immaterium.

The organ would function similarly to the pineal gland, but with a subconscious connection to the Immateirum due to it being made entirely out of quantum-organic matter. This organ would theoretically allow a larger influence of the Immaterium inside the Materium. Reducing psyker mental energy costs and increasing psyker abilities at the same time.

This project had been undertaken for the past 45 years, with them constantly running into issues during development. One of the biggest problems was that Quantum matter was not stable when in the Materium. It would dissipate after a short time. Thankfully, this issue was solved from Gorvor's insights and adapted designed title-anchors. By using a specially designed psychic title, the quantum organ could remain anchored and stable while inside the Materium.

The technology was finally ready after all these years. Slagar was attempting the first implantation surgery, under the help of Arlow. He was determined to be the first Old One to experience what they had worked hard to create. Shortly from now, Slagar would wake up a completely different being.
