"Yea yea… give it some time, heh."
"Y… You! I'll pee on you tomorrow and you won't even know it!" Aman shouted.
Alex's eyes went wide as he saw Hannah and Susan around the corner of the corridor waiting for them. He slapped his forehead when he saw their expressions.
"You dumb asshole…." He whispered as he nudged Aman.
"What?"
"Look forward… imagine what they would think about you now."
Aman felt his soul leave his body as his legs went weak.
"Ah…. How am I going to survive this?"
"It's simple my friend. Find a way to keep Susan's mouth shut."
"Dying is an easier task… I guess I'll have to submit to fate." Aman sighed as his head hung low in embarrassment.
"It's not fate, brother. It's called karma and keep one thing in mind, always. Karma is a bitch."
"Every dog has its day, Alex. One day I'll be the one laughing."
"Hehe, yeah yeah."
They met up with the two Hufflepuff girls before they left for their classes.
A week quickly passed with Alex doing nothing but sleeping, attending classes and eating. After getting enough rest and the pain in his body almost gone, he began disappearing from his dormitory every night.
Aman looked at the empty bed above him and sighed, 'Where the hell does this guy run off to?'
Meanwhile in the room of requirement, Alex was standing in front of a metal cauldron while he threw in various ingredients. The fire was extremely hot, contrary to normal potion making. Five minutes later, the liquid quicky turned thick and the top of the mixture got darker as scum was formed.
Alex waited for an hour before he took out his wand and pointed it at the top of the cauldron.
Flames gushed out from the tip of the wand and hit the black surface inside. While the fire below the cauldron helped in boiling the mixture, the fire from Alex's wand incinerated the toxic wastes that had coagulated at the top.
Time slowly passed by and every time there was a black blob on top of the liquid, Alex would burn it and send the ashes flying into a box he had kept beside the cauldron.
The process continued until the mixture was extremely gooey and hard to stir. He then divided them into equal sized balls and placed them on a large metal plate before he jumped onto the bed nearby and fell asleep.
*****
Aman was having his breakfast gloomily as the whole Ravenclaw table looked at him like he was some kind of virus. He felt lonely as two of the three people he considered friends had made his life miserable and the other one seemed to like being alone.
Sometimes he wondered if Alex was a vampire who would go out and hunt people for blood when hungry. Sighing loudly, he took a small bite from the toast in his hand which felt so much bland that he felt like he was chewing paper.
*PAT*
He felt as if electricity had just passed through his body from behind as he instinctively jumped backwards from his seat.
Alex was smiling while he looked at Aman, "Yo!"
"You… nevermind. I should be happy that you at least came here for breakfast today." He said as he sighed again.
Alex looked around and saw that every single person in the great hall was looking at him weirdly and Hannah looked guilty at them. He sat down beside Aman and patted him on his back at the exact same spot where he had hit him.
"Looks like Susan couldn't keep her mouth shut, huh?"
"Yeah…"
"And she dragged me into this childish mess too?"
"Yeah…"
"If you're sad because of such a small matter, I don't know what to say to you. Listen here, this is the best time to spend time with yourself. Do you understand me?"
"Not really. Before you, Hannah and Susan became my friends, I liked to stay alone but you know… I miss those two and you… you just run off to god knows where, leaving me alone and clueless. Tell me, are you a vampire or something?"
Alex stared at the boy sitting in front of him like he was a stranger.
"…. No, I'm a mix breed between a werewolf, frog, donkey, dragon, goblin, your mom, Gian- ow"
Aman had smacked him on his head with all the strength he could muster. A small droplet of tear streaked across his face as he looked at him.
"You think I am joking or something?"
"Alright, sorry. I'll tell you everything later, okay? For now, you need to think of ways to make people think differently about you. Just look at those assholes, looking at us as if we are some type of foreign creatures."
"I don't know what to do!" Aman exclaimed before continuing, "If I had an idea, I wouldn't sitting here like I've lost my family!"
"Pff. Okay okay, calm down. I won't laugh." He said and Aman lowered his fist.
"I have a plan. Let's finish our classes first and what do we have after lunch… yeah, potions. After potions, I'll show you my secret place where I spend all my nights studying and practicing spells.
Also, forget about Susan and Hannah. Susan bay look nice and all that but you have to keep in mind that she almost killed me and now, she also spread weird rumours about you which could be true too but that's not something a friend does.
Hannah's a good person but as long as she considers Susan as her closest friend, it is better to stay away from her too."
Aman nodded seriously bit he was more excited to see his friend's secret place compared to changing the minds of all the students at Hogwarts. He did care for the two girls but they were at the back of his mind at the current moment.
Classes went as per usual and like always, Alex didn't listen to a single word as all he did was sleep.
