World Rules and Magic System - Spoilers!
First off, I'll say a couple of things about the story.
1. this is me attempting a harry potter fanfiction as I had just played Hogwarts Legacy, so a lot of things would use that game's logic.
2. This fanfiction is also written to release my boredom of writing my other fanfiction, so it doesn't really have a solid plot going forwards except that it's more of a slice-of-life story rather than a fix-the-story story, and definitely not a harem nor a manwhore story.
3. this is not a power fantasy, while MC is strong because of his talent, he will make mistakes, he'll make dumb decisions, he'll thought of weird shit, just like any of you would if you were thrown in a life and death scenario. if you were looking for an MC that is 2000 IQ, big brain, omniscient, have no morals, basically a robot, then this is not for you.
4. If you come to ask who's the love interest, it's undecided yet, but I want someone who's the same age as MC or one or two years older. I'm leaning towards Fleur though.

Alright, here are the world rules and how some magic works in this fic, basically I'll use a lot of game logic, not all of them though.
1. Wizarding World - Hogwarts Rules
-The areas around Hogwarts(Settlements such as Irondale, Feldcroft, etc) doesn't exists anymore, as the wizarding world since the 19th Century have been in decline, so the settlements are abandoned. the buildings are still there, but abandoned.
-Magical Beasts still exists around Hogwarts, but most of them are inside the forbidden forests. Beasts such as Graphorn no longer exists, except in one place inside Hogwarts which will be explained in the story.
-Like in the books, Students cannot go around the scottish highlands whenever they could. instead, whenever there's a hogsmeade visit, they could travel south towards Aranshire, Keenbridge, and anything that's around the Hogwarts Valley except the forbidden forest, the bog, and the coastal caverns.
-Trace magic in wands can only detect if magic is being used outside of Hogwarts, not what magic is used, so if someone underage used unforgivable inside or outside the school, the ministry won't be able to detect it, only know if the student used magic or not if he/she is outside the school.
-Potions can be made automatically using charmed objects like in the games.
-Unsupported flight(as in those flying smokes death eaters turned into in the movies) don't exist except with MC with Ancient Magic and Voldemort.
-The repository exists, but the keepers' trials don't exists anymore, it will be much more simpler.
-All things fanon, such as 'there is no such thing as quarter veela' are generally avoided in this fic.
-No bashing at all, be it Dumbledore, the Weasleys, there'll be none of them, so put your biases aside.
-Runes will work like the Games(aka traits). Strong runes will need strong materials in order to function. example: you can't carve a spell amplifying rune on your clothing if it's only made in normal cloth, instead, it should use dragonhide if you want it to work.
-Puzzles inside Hogwarts exists
2. Ancient Magic
-Description: Ancient Magic in Hogwarts Legacy is a type of magic that can be triggered with the characteristics of human nature. Human emotions can often channelize the magic as well. so that means that the stronger the wielder's emotion, the stronger the magic. it could also absorb people's emotion for the wielder's own power. usually this just means adrenaline and determination, but anger and pain(like the one Ranrok used) could be sometimes triggered.
-Ancient Magic amplifies the wielder's power, making a lot of things deadlier. he could vaporize a troll in just one spell, summon a lighting easily, turning people to literal bombs and detonating it, enhance potion effects to self, amplify spells, etc.
3. Room of Requirement
-The Room that the Hogwarts Legacy protagonist used still exists, including the vivariums and the beasts inside it.
