Chương 700: True Creature Transformation and Little Barty's Clue

In general, the transformed creature is a manifestation of the wizarding magic, which obeys to some extent the various commands of the caster.

However, the Crumple-Horned Snorkack in front of him was different. Ivan found himself unable to control its movements, and even with his current level of Transfiguration, he could not see any flaws.

It was as if the creature in front of him was real and not an illusion…

"Curse Stop!" Ivan shouted as he pointed his wand at the Crumple-Horned Snorkack's head, trying to undo his Transfiguration spell.

However, with a flash of white light, the Crumple-Horned Snorkack remained where it was, staring at him with innocent, frightened eyes.

Yvonne's face lit up with joy and shock. Had she really transformed a block of wood into a Crumple-Horned Snorkack? Created a whole new species?

Ivan instinctively wanted to deny this possibility. The more he studied, the more he understood the difficulty.

Today's examples of total transformation in the wizarding world are legends that may or may not be true.

Instead, a large number of Transfiguration-related teaching books explicitly stated that Transfiguration could not truly change the nature of things.

For example, food that had been magically transfigured must never be used to fill one's stomach, as it had no nutrients whatsoever. When the wizard's magic on it had worn off, the food would revert to its original form, possibly causing an extremely serious accident!

It is for this reason that there are so many poor wizards and witches in the wizarding world, otherwise everyone would have all the resources they want with a single Transfiguration.

"Could it have something to do with the fact that his magic had been upgraded to Level Seven?" Yvonne asked, changing her mind, thinking that perhaps his enhanced Transfiguration had allowed him to break through some sort of restriction.

Thinking of this possibility, Ivan immediately tried it, once again swinging his wand at the dragonfly that had fallen to the ground.

Under the influence of magic, the dragonfly quickly melted and transformed into another Crumple-Horned Snorkack. It was the size of a human head and looked very powerful and powerful. There was also nothing wrong with its appearance, but when compared to the Crumple-Horned Snorkack in his hand, Ivan felt that something was missing…

"Curse Stop!" Ivan waved his wand again, aiming it at the Crumple-Horned Snorkack.

Unlike before, his transfiguration spell was lifted, and the Crumple-Horned Snorkack was transformed back into a cauldron.

"How could this be?" Ivan was very confused. It seemed that he had been wrong. Even a Level 7 Transfiguration could not completely change the nature of things…

Then there was only one possibility—the protection pattern was more powerful than he had imagined, powerful enough to easily reverse the nature of things, transforming a sparse, ordinary piece of wood into a living Snorkack!

Of course, all of this was just speculation. He would have to observe the Crumple-Horned Snorkack for a few more days to be certain.

With that in mind, Ivan took out a transparent jar from his drawer, poked a few holes in it, and cast an Extension Charm on it to expand the space. He intended to transform the place into a new home for the Crumple-Horned Snorkack, so that he could observe it these days.

By the time he had finished and thrown the Crumple-Horned Snorkack in, it was nearly dinnertime.

Ivan did not stay in the Room of Requirement for long. He stuffed the jar into his pocket and used the Restoration Charm to restore everything that had been destroyed. Then he left and headed downstairs.

On the third floor, Ivan was surprised to see Crouch heading back to his office. He changed direction and ran after him.

"Hold on, Mr. Crouch!"

"What is it, Hals?" Crouch turned to look at Ivan in surprise.

"Nothing, I just wanted to ask if you found anything about Barty Junior," Yvonne said.

Ivan had been so busy preparing for the second match of the season that he could not spare much energy to investigate Barty Junior's whereabouts, so he thought that Crouch, who had been sitting idle, might have something to show for it.

Crouch, however, looked embarrassed and hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Moody and I have been conducting a search of the castle for suspicious characters, but there are no immediate leads…"

Ivan was somewhat disappointed. It had been more than half a term and Barty Junior was still missing.

Did he really have to hold on to the Triwizard Cup and wait for the other party to replace it with a Portkey?

However, anyone with half a brain could see that Harry's chances of winning were slim, and Barty Junior might not go back to using the same method as before.

Therefore, Barty Junior had to be caught before the third match.

"Mr. Crouch, did your son Barty Junior have any notable traits, likes, or habits?" Yvonne asked.

Crouch was lost in thought for a while, trying to recall everything about Barty, and was shocked at how little he knew about his son, who was unable to speak of Barty's hobbies and habits.

Crouch's face clouded with guilt at having neglected Barty during the course of his work. Had he known in time that Barty was involved with Dark Wizards, things might not have turned out this way.

There wasn't much that came back to him, but he told her everything he could to help Ivan.

"My son is a regular Quidditch player, and occasionally researches dangerous magic. In addition, he admires pure-blood theory, which may be why he submitted to You-Know-Who…"

"Is there anything more specific, like some sort of habit you can't get out of, obviously!" Ivan interrupted Crouch. It was impossible to determine Barty Junior's identity based on this alone, as he was very good at disguising himself from time.

Crouch hesitated for a long moment and was about to shake his head when he remembered something. "By the way, my son Barty Junior has a sweet tooth, and since his return from Azkaban he's been very fond of sweet things."

Yvonne nodded, thinking it would be a good lead. If you were addicted to something, it wasn't easy to kick the habit, and it was a habit that sometimes went unnoticed.

"That's about all I know. I'll give you another picture of him." Crouch sighed and took a picture from the pocket of his wizarding robe.

Yvonne took the picture and looked at it. It showed a young wizard with pale skin and light yellow hair, and sunken eyes.
