Michael stares at his status in utter disbelief... He hadn't even registered the ability Auroth had gifted him as he was so focussed on the one above it...

"'Dead God...?'. the fuck does even mean?" he mutters to himself as he drags a finger across the text, quickly pulling back at the chill that ran through the digit upon contact... He was now part Winter Wyvern, yet the chill still caused is heart to stop momentarily...

"Yeah, some fucked up bull shit is going on. What do you mean, 'Grants more powers and abilities the more deaths the user experiences.'? The book telling me to kill myself or something?" he questions while glowering at the now more ominous feeling tome. It was as if he now registered an aspect of it that he hadn't noticed before...

"Fuckin' Dead God, it's like you're the source of all my problems." he grouses, well aware that the new ability had indeed saved his life... But at what cost? He wasn't stupid enough to believe that this was a no-holds-barred deal.

...

was this the reason he'd received the book in the first place? Had he died when that truck hit him?... "Did the Dead God create this thing?..."

Was this the reason he gained strength through killing things?

There were many questions he left unsaid, the implications of the Dead God's involvement were far too large and vague to properly grasp or consider.

Michael supposed he was fortunate in that he had a shit ton of other things to deal with, preventing him from properly contemplating just how fucked he and the overall situation could be.

Shaking his head, he forces his eyes away from the text and down to what Auroth had given him. Indeed, it was a lot.

Massively increased ice affinity, strength and durability, better eye-sight... "Breath Attack?" he wonders aloud, thoughts quickly drifting to the overpowered beath attacks used by D&D Dragons.

He flips through the book and accesses Winter Wyvern's page, the mood turning mournful as he looks upon the portrait depicting a greyed out Auroth, still alive in the picture but far more dull and lifeless than usual.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spirit : Winter Wyvern

Level : MAX

Abilities :

Studious Mind (Rank 4) : Drastically increases the effectiveness of studying, from reading books to research and practical experiments.

Arctic Burn (Rank 4) : User temporarily gains the ability to fly and breathe blistering cold winds that deal damage to any caught by it. Those affected will be afflicted with a short curse that rapidly drains their lifeforce and slows them.

Splinter Blast (Rank 4) : User throws a large ball of brittle ice that does no damage to the initially struck, but explodes outwards, launching large shards of hardened ice that both harm and slow.

Cold Embrace (Rank 4) : Temporarily encases an ally in a block of solid ice, the target gains massive damage resistance and also rapidly heals while frozen.

Winter's Curse (Rank 3) : User curses an enemy, freezing them in place and forcing those nearby to mindlessly attack them.

Ice Manipulation (Rank 4) : User can inherently control ice with their magic. Proficiency and efficiency depends on user's personal skill.

Auroth's Scales (Rank 4) : Passively, when user recieves an attack ice blue scales manifest at the moment of impact, shielding them from harm. Durability of scales is determined by both Strength and Intelligence.

Auroth's Breath (Rank 4) : Unleashes a continuous blast of freezing air from the user's mouth. Damage is determined by user's Intelligence.

Auroth's Presence (Rank 4) : Allows user to passively produce a chilling mist from their body. This costs no mana. Power of this is determined by user's Intelligence.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He was taken aback slightly by the many new abilities on the page, he'd expected some already due to [Gift-Blood of Auroth], but this was far out of his estimations...

Free ice manipulation that'd make any mage in either Halkeginia or Tamriel blush with jealousy. It was less akin to magic and more akin to what Frost Atronachs did, his abilities were now comparable to an ice elemental... Well, theoretically, he'd need to practise a lot to read that level. At the moment, using simple tricks and covering his skin with a layer of ice was the most he could do.

He'd already seen the scales in action earlier. He'd been surprised when a stray arrow deflected from his shoulder due to the icy scales that'd formed to intercept it... They looked like a thinner, more fragmented version of Auroth's scales. Very useful, but ineffective against stronger attacks like Dagon's punch, since he hadn't noticed them when his body had basically disintegrated from the force. Not to mention its seeming inability to protect against environmental factors such as the magma.

Chương 448: Deadlanded Admiral

He hadn't yet used Auroth's Breath, but he was certainly looking forward to it. The Daedra in the Deadlands in general were weaker to Frost due to their affinity to fire. Though, he'd only noticed this when he'd started slaughtering them with Auroth's own spells, which he'd been using partly to honour her recent departure, even if it was a rather worthless sentiment all things considered.

Lastly, was Auroth's Presence, something he hadn't actually used yet. Whether it was because he didn't know it existed, or because he knew instinctively that using it under the ocean of magma was a one-way ticket to the most horrifying sauna experience ever conceived, he simply hadn't activated it yet.

He'd already observed what happens if ice gets into contact with magma when some stray ice shards shot into it... The result was, explosive, primarily due to the ice turning into vapour extremely rapidly, he imagined the result would be equally dangerous with the mist also.

Regardless, figuring he had nothing to lose on dry if absurdly hot land. Once he wills the ability to manifest he could feel every pore on his skin open up and begin producing it as if it were just sweat.

The immediate temperature around him quickly cooled to a comfortable level, allowing him to ease the amount of mana he was using to shield himself from the heat. "Ahh... That's MUCH better..." he mutters, as if feeling a cold breeze while standing under the desert sun.

*Screeeeeee!*

He could hear the sound of incoming Daedra in the distance, so he decides to quicken his pace slightly... He grabs some Mana and Stamina potions from his inventory and downs them, then once he feels his strength return, quickly goes to check his progress with his Kunkka Spirit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spirit : Kunkka

Level : 1 > 7

Abilities :

Admiral Qualities (Rank 1) : Gives the user inherent charisma when speaking to groups of people. Grants people under user's command a bonus to their damage, attack speed, and movement speed.

Torrent (Rank 1) : Summons a large torrent of water to shoot from the ground, lifting and stunning enemies caught in it.

TideBringer (Rank 3) : Enchants user's sword with Tidebringer's essence of the sea, making their next strike also hit nearby enemies.

X Marks The Spot (Rank 1) : User marks a target with an X, causing them to return to the same location after a few seconds, no matter what.

GhostShip (Rank 1) : Summons Kunkka's ghost ship, massively boosting the vitality of allies on it. Any collisions are dealt massive damage. Requires constant mana to maintain.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He puts a point in all of Kunkka's abilities and raises TideBringer to Rank 3. It was one of his best abilities when it came to dealing with groups of enemies. The AOE attack killed swathes of enemies whenever he used it, not to mention its water attribute which soaked those struck, allowing him to use ice magic on any survivors to finish them off.

It was kinda underwhelming considering all that he'd received from Auroth, but he supposed these two things couldn't really be compared...

He lets out a tired sigh and turns towards the approaching winged daedra, "Alright, let's test out my new boat..." he mutters before holding his hand towards the ocean of magma, "Ghostship."

*SPLLAAAASH!*

Aqua blue light explodes and momentarily blinds Michael as a huge ephemeral ship lands with a splash in the liquid rock, seemingly unbothered by it as it sits atop it.

Michael blinks a couple times as his vision returns, allowing him to look upon his new vessel... It was absolutely huge, a Man O' War with a shit of cannons visible from where he was standing.

Unlike how it is in Dota 2, where it's empty and destroys itself by crashing into the ground and or enemy, this one was perfectly fine as it is. Michael could even see hundreds of ghostly figures manning it, waiting for him to board it.

He summons his icy wings and flies up to the deck and is immediately greeted by hundreds of saluting ghosts. They don't make any sounds, seemingly incapable of it, but they were able to touch things, and more importantly, man the ship.

Michael enters the captain quarters and can't help but chuckle when he realises that he was still visible to everyone... It was a ghostship, all walls and floors were visible, no matter what part you visited.

He humorously shakes his head and walks back onto the deck as the winged-daedra arrive... Only for his ghostly sailors to draw their weapons and start attacking them... Did he mention that every sailor was equipped with a ghostly flintlock pistol?

*BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANG!*

While the sailors couldn't make any noise themselves, their weapons certainly could. They unleashed a barrage of fire on the enemy, blasting the daedra to pieces as their bodies are torn to pieces by the ghostly projectiles.

Their limp bodies fall from the sky, some slamming against the side of the ship while others simply drop into the magma, their fire resistance not doing anything as they burn to death.

Michael grins at the sight, "You make a big mistake letting me go about my business. Let's see how much of your realm I can fuck up before you finally lose your temper."

He makes his way over to the ship's steering wheel before drawing his sword and raising it into the sky, "ALRIGHT YOU LANDLUBBERS! WE SAIL UNCHARTED W...-ER, TERRITORY! LET'S SEE IF THESE FOUL SEA DEMONS CAN MATCH US!" he shouts, enjoying his new position of Admiral far too much. "MAN THE SAILS! WE WILL PILLAGE THIS LAND FOR ALL THE LOOT AND BOOTY THEY'VE GOT! CAN I GET AN ARRRRRRR!?" he exclaims over-excitedly.

...

"Oh right, you guys can't talk..." he mutters before shaking his head and grabbing the wheel, "SET SAIL!" he shouts, letting the men do all the complicated stuff. As far as he was concerned, speed up and slow down were the only commands he needed to give.
