Chương 27: #25 First date
The next morning, Ren went towards Esdeath's room, he didn't even meet any guards on his way there. When he knocked on the door it didn't even take 5 seconds before they were opened. Ren and his companions were a bit surprised by what they saw.
What stunned them was exactly Esdeath who opened the door. She wore a nice blue dress which she probably bought yesterday. The dress was extremely tight and perfectly outlined her curves, of course, the dress also had large cleavage perfectly showing just how large her breasts are.
Even Ren had to admit that after seeing her in this dress combined with her happy smile he felt a bit weird for a little while. He was pretty sure that if his past life's classmates saw this kind of woman they would probably die from a nosebleed.
His thoughts were interrupted by Esdeath's cheerful greeting.
"Hi, Ren!"
Ren only nodded as a greeting.
Esdeath noticed that when Ren saw her he was stunned for a short moment.
'By Bols's tips, this kind of reaction should mean that he likes it.' Esdeath thought happily.
While Esdeath was absorbed in her thoughts Ren was speaking with Shell.
'Hey, this isn't the dress for fighting right? You are female too, so can you guess why she wears that?' Ren asked Shell.
'Heh, don't talk like you don't like it, but like I said yesterday...you are going on date and not sparring.' Shell answered with a bit of teasing.
'So that's what you meant but why? How did this happen?' Ren already knew the reason for Esdeath's dress but he was still confused about this situation.
'ARE YOU FUCKING IDIOT?! You made a misunderstanding yesterday by selecting the wrong words to ask for the spar.' Hawke who couldn't take Ren's ignorance any more suddenly cried out.
'Misunderstanding...ah well, those words could really be misunderstood easily. So I just had to expla-' Ren said when he finally recalled words he said yesterday but he couldn't finish his sentence before he was interrupted by Shell's loud screech
'NO!!! You caused this misunderstanding and she is already dressed up. Be a man and accept your mistakes. You can treat it like a free day, I can't remember the last day you actually relaxed.'
'Fine... don't scream like that, I don't mind relaxing for one day.' Ren tried to calm Shell.
Ren turned his focus on Esdeath and asked: "So where are we going today?"
Esdeath who heard Ren's question instantly became excited and said: "We can go to one of the most famous restaurants in Capital."
'I knew it was an invitation, I guess even someone with experience like Bols can be wrong.' Esdeath thought while having a winning smile on her face.
'Shell, I am not experienced in dates, I only know things from a few movies I saw...so should I just go with the flow?' Ren asked Shell because he had absolutely no experience in this and this will be his first date ever.
'Don't worry I will help you, you can just repeat things I will say.' Shell said in a serious voice.
'...To be honest I would feel much safer if Shadow or Hawke helped me' Ren said
Both of them wanted to say something but when they felt Shell's murderous stare they shivered and remained silent and could only pray for Ren's well being.
'Ok, the first thing you need to do is to lend her your hand.' Shell instructed.
"Ok, shall we go?" Ren said while he extended his hand and waited for Esdeath to take it.
Esdeath quickly took it and happily nodded as a response to Ren's question.
On their way through the streets, Esdeath asked: "Ren, are you experienced in those dates things?"
'HAHAHA' Shell who heard her question couldn't help but laugh.
Ren simply ignored Shell and answered casually: "Not really, this is my first time so you can't expect much"
"I see..." Esdeath said and after that followed awkward silence.
On their entire way to restaurant they talked only a bit, although most of the time was silence, they didn't mind silence and just enjoyed each other's company.
When they were eating Esdeath asked him: "Ren, have you ever thought what is 'love'?"
Ren who was currently happy by eating something different than roasted meat answered earnestly: "I thought about it few times and the only thing I could think of is that love is when you think about someone so dearly that you are able to slaughter entire world for them."
Esdeath was shocked by his answer and asked another question: "Would you be able to do that?"
Ren actually chuckled before answering: "That is a difficult question since I don't even know how love feels..." but he didn't finish everything he wanted to say because he recalled the time when Shadow got injured and how he went mad.
'What if it is a similar feeling but only stronger?' Ren thought deeply before saying: "Forget what I just said, I would be able to do it without batting an eye."
Esdeath was impressed by Ren's resolve. Time flew by much quicker than before when their date started and wasn't so awkward anymore.
'What a masterpiece I created' Shell said to herself, feeling proud of her word.
Sun was already slowly setting down and both of them sat on a bench. They were just talking about general things but when Esdeath saw an ice cream stall she stopped talking. When Ren saw this he sighed and went to buy one for her from his money.
"Thank you..." Esdeath said while blushing when Ren came back and gave it to her.
'Ren? I didn't say anything yet....' Shell was totally shocked by his actions because she didn't even instruct him what to do. Ren himself was quite surprised when Shell said that.
'I guess it was just man's instinct' Shell thought to herself.
Ren wanted to slowly call it a day but he started to feel someone observing them. Of course, Esdeath was able to feel that too but she was too busy eating her ice cream and talking to Ren so she didn't mind as long as they won't try anything funny.
------On one of the roofs------
Leone got a task by Akame to observe Esdeath and her next moves. So she went to Capital but what she definitely didn't expect was to see Esdeath in a sexy dress sitting on a bench.
'Wow is that really that demon like a woman?' Leone thought since she didn't think that Esdeath would be able to wear anything else than army clothes. She was getting more cautious since she didn't know what was happening but after one minute she was totally shocked, she saw how a familiar man was walking towards Esdeath with ice-cream in his hand. When he came near her he sat next to her and gave her ice cream.
Leone moved on the closer roof to get a better look.
'Wait, is that Ren?! What the hell is he doing here with that woman? Are they on a date?' Leone simply had too many questions but she abandoned her thoughts and decided to go back to base.
'I need to report this to Akame.' Leone thought while on the way back.
Both Ren and Esdeath noticed that the person who was spying on them already left so they decided to call it a day. Ren was even considerate enough to walk Esdeath back to her room. When they got near her room Ren asked: "Do you want to train with me tomorrow?" This time he didn't want to make another misunderstanding and asked her plainly.
When Esdeath heard Ren she immediately formed a confident smile on her face and said: "I will be waiting"
When Ren saw her confidence he just snorted but still smiled. When he was getting ready to leave someone caught his sleeve. He knew that it was Esdeath so he just asked what she wants while turning around about before he could completely turn around he felt something soft on his cheek.
This greatly surprised him and he looked at Esdeath in confusion and for the explanation.
"It was a great day, I might have learned something new today. Thank you, Ren." Esdeath said while blushing and quickly closed the door to her room.
'Ooooh, our Ren scored!!' Shell teased
Ren was still confused but after a few moments, he recovered and went back to his training in the forest. When he was walking through the streets he rubbed the place where Esdeath kissed him while thinking about that sensation but soon he was interrupted by Shell.
"So, how was the date?! Did you like it?!" Shell questioned in excited voice.
"...It wasn't bad to relax like that" Ren answered.
"You didn't answer my question!" Shell demanded but Ren just looked at her and formed a slight smile.
