George Sterling, once a successful lawyer turned actor, then turned magician, finds himself in dire straits as the rise of Artificial Intelligence takes away all his livelihoods. As he nears the end of his life, a family heirloom, a mysterious ring passed down from his father, transports him to an unfamiliar world seemingly distant from reality.
Upon awakening, George discovers a newfound opportunity that awaits him. Initially tasked with portraying the Wizard of Oz to survive, he delves into this new role. However, as he embraces his new identity, an even greater challenge lies ahead: he must venture into the realm of pretending to be a god.
This book uses characters and elements from L. Frank Baum's original Oz series which has entered the public domain and allows me to use them in my original book as long as I do not use the characters and elements from the adaptations that haven't entered the public domain.

Shameless Author here! Probably a narcissist, too, for leaving a five-star review on his own book. This is my first contracted novel (which makes me a newbie), so please feel free to leave comments if you find any mistakes here and there, and I will fix them (I have fixed a few errors thanks to a few commenters). And it will be worthwhile. This story will be updated daily with chapters, and if you have any questions, please reply below, and I will be sure to respond to them.
The AI seriously take over the jobs from mankind. That sad reality, but well, that what happen when capitalist cane for industrial revolution back then.... It about stepping forwart. Nice blurb, will read it for sure!

I haven't started to read, but for now i give you 5 stars for the interesting sypnosis (Little error at the start "turned actor turned magician"). I will change or not change depending on the story in the coming days or week (after I finish the novel I'm reading). Good day!
[I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GIVE THIS A READ!] One of the many very best fantasy novels that I have read, it's got good characters fleshed out, the world is fleshed out as well to a decently big amount, the way abilities & powers work also are well executed. It's not just a simple action only novel, nor one that heavily focuses on something & leaves the previous stuff shown & mentioned in the background. If stuff is left it's not left for long & actually has an in-story reason for it. It has action, amusing interactions between characters, it has good power growth & character growth, it has mysteries waiting to be solved that keeps you entertained & excited for more while keeping you guessing; it's not overly hard to guess what may happen but it's definitely not easy if you don't often read novels or fics that have mysteries in them, but trust me if author wanted he could definitely make it more difficult than it already is. [I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GIVE THIS A READ!]
Important Announcement! This book had a few months of preparation, and has taken me a lot of time to write, mostly due to editing and rewriting with assistance. I had a decent idea, but I ruined it. Instead of focusing on quality, I decided to chase the daily word count, and it has resulted in this book, I am still proud of it, but I will be lying if I said I lived up to the potential of this book. I have completed Volume 1, and I have even written plans and a few chapters for Volume 2, but to be honest, there will be many more mistakes made, I tried to do too many things, while not focusing on what is truly important. I'm sorry. And thank you for those who stuck with me despite the flaws in the book, I will be posting another book on this platform, but as for Pretending to Be God, it is over, for now at least. I will be open to questions if there are any. And once again, thank you.
