"Marshadow, how is Ash?" Misty looked at Ash worriedly and asked Marshadow, completely forgetting that she couldn't understand Pokémon language.
"Marsha—!" Marshadow gestured to Misty, indicating Ash's condition had stabilized, then pointed to Mew, giving it credit.
"Really? Thank you so much, Mew! Thank you very much!" Misty held Ash in her arms and thanked Mew gratefully.
"Mew..." However, Mew shook its head slightly, not accepting Misty's thanks. It didn't deserve them, as it was partly responsible for Ash's current state.
Misty didn't understand this. Seeing Mew shake its head, she thought it was being modest.
"But... when will Ash wake up?" Although Marshadow said Ash was fine, Misty still frowned slightly, worried.
"Marsha..." Marshadow couldn't answer Misty's question. Ash's body had recovered, but it couldn't help with his mental state.
Mew also had no way to replenish Ash's spirit. Despite being a Psychic-type Pokémon, it couldn't restore mental overdraft; only Ash could do that.
Perhaps the lake guardians could have helped, but they weren't present.
"Really...but I still have to thank you..." Misty held Ash's hand tightly, forcing a smile, and thanked the two Pokémon.
"Mew----!"
"Marsha—!"
But the two Pokémon didn't accept her thanks and shook their heads. If anyone deserved thanks, it was Ash, who had protected them. Marshadow felt guilty; it was supposed to protect Ash, but the roles had reversed.
"Mewtwo is here!" Suddenly, Yusho's panicked voice rang out. He had been watching Mewtwo and, seeing it fly towards them, cried out in alarm to alert everyone, especially Mew and Marshadow.
Only those two Pokémon could fight Mewtwo. If attacked, the others wouldn't survive.
"Mew..." Mew turned to look at Mewtwo. Although some time had passed, Mewtwo's injuries and stamina hadn't recovered much.
Marshadow didn't care about Mewtwo either. Its condition was worse than Marshadow's. Even alone, Marshadow was confident it could defeat Mewtwo.
"Let me handle this..." Mewtwo slowly approached Pidgeot, looked at the unconscious Ash, and conveyed its intentions telepathically.
"What...?!" Brock was stunned, then confused. "You mean, you can wake Ash up?"
"That's right..." Mewtwo said calmly. Since comprehending Psystrike, despite the move's destructive power, it had also greatly enhanced its spiritual abilities. It could regulate Ash's spirit, and with some conditioning, Ash would recover quickly.
"How could we believe you?!" Misty was unwilling to trust Mewtwo, blaming it for the situation.

Seeing both Pokémon agree, Misty bit her lip and nodded slowly. She laid Ash down on Pidgeot's back and stepped back, giving Mewtwo space.
Yusho had already ordered his Pidgeot to retreat. He didn't dare get too close to Mewtwo, fearing a sudden attack.
Brock had jumped onto Ash's Pidgeot as soon as Yusho ordered his to retreat. He prioritized Ash's safety over potential danger.
Mewtwo slowly landed on Pidgeot's back, knelt before Ash, and placed its right hand on Ash's head, closing its eyes and emitting subtle Psywaves.
Misty and Brock watched nervously. Although they didn't understand the process, they could tell Mewtwo was treating Ash.
"...~ Mew...?"
While Mewtwo treated Ash, Mew suddenly turned its head, looking into the distance. With the fighting over, the hurricane and rain had begun to dissipate, and the thunderclouds surrounding New Island were gone. Yusho and the others, noticing this, had already started to leave.
But Mew wasn't going to let them go without intervention. It needed to conceal what had happened, both to protect Mewtwo and the others.
Mew knew some humans sought legendary Pokémon for power and domination. If these Trainers were discovered by such people, they could be in danger.

"Mew!" Mew called out to Mewtwo, conveying its meaning. Mewtwo nodded slowly upon understanding. He didn't want to expose his whereabouts to Team Rocket either, so he agreed to Mew's request.
"I understand. Although I don't know if it can be done, I will try my best," Mewtwo responded softly.
Seeing this, Marshadow slowly blended into Ash's shadow. It also needed a good rest.
