Leon listened as he heard the stall owners trying to sell their products. Without hesitation, Leon summoned Two Houndooms for protection before walking down the street.
He didn't care since no one could see his face anyway. Not to mention, people would have no thoughts of attacking him.
At this time, a man with binoculars was watching Leon from an abandoned building.
"It looks like this guy's more capable than I thought." Leon had no idea that he was being watched from afar. The man spying on him was shocked.
"What do you want us to do? His Pokemon seemed to be too strong." Another shadowy figure asked while kneeling.
"Send people to follow him for now, update me on what he does next. Those White Scarf gang members won't let him go so easily."
"Right away, sir!" The shadowy man hurriedly stood and left.
"With how narrow-minded and greedy they are, they'll surely strike back at this merchant. They probably went to gather reinforcements to deal with him."
At this time, Leon appeared in front of a stall where a man was selling his goods.
"Hehe, what can I get for you? I have all three types of stones being sold here. I have the Water, Fire, and Ice Stone here, take a look."
The old man smiled and flashed a row of yellow teeth, with a few even missing.
"Let me take a look." Leon's eyebrows twitched due to his harsh breath, but he endured and closely inspected the stones.
He knew they were the real deal because he scoped them out from afar. This stall got his attention because the goods here were actually real.
Unlike the game, evolution stones were hard to find and acquire. They were not in Celadon City's Department store as Leon hoped.
He learned that evolution stones were a rare commodity in this world.
[Fire Stone: A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It has a fiery orange heart.]
[Ice Stone: A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It has a snowflake pattern in it.]
[Water Stone: A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is the blue of a pool of clear water.]
"How much are selling them for?" Leon didn't beat around the bush.
"Hehe, since I'm in a hurry and currently selling them for a discount price, I'll sell them for ₽3000 each." The old man cleared his throat and said.
"Deal." Without hesitation, Leon pulled out the money and handed it to the old man.
Leon naturally knew the market value of these stones, which was around ₽10,000 each. However, due to them being in high demand, even double that amount was possible.
Once they were in his hands, Leon felt the warmth of the Fire Stone. This was the same as the Ice Stone, but instead, it was cold.
As for the Water Stone, it felt damp, but Leon rubbed his hands together and found that there was no moisture.
"Interesting." Leon was fascinated.
They were naturally created by the world and formed in places according to their elements. Leon placed the Water and Fire Stones back onto the stall before looking back at the old man.
At this time, the old man was starting to pack up what little things he had left. The old man packed up things such as Pokeblock food, nothing special.
"Is there anything else you're selling besides these stones?" Leon didn't see anything of value, but that didn't mean it wasn't present.
"No. I don't have anything else here besides Pokemon foods." The old man shook his head when suddenly, his eyes flashed.
"Hmm, actually, I do have this but I don't know its uses." The old man reached into his pocket and pulled out, what appeared to be a shard.
It looked similar to a moonstone but smaller and clearer. Leon used his ability to inspect this strange piece of stone to see if it was any good.
[Moon Shard: It allows Eevee to directly evolve into Umbreon, and it is the counterpart of the Sun Shard.]
Leon was utterly shocked, how could something like this exist?! This was an item exclusive to the Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness series!
Leon tried to keep his calm, but it was hard for him. This item was something he never would have expected to see...ever.
"How much are you selling this rock for?" Leon wanted this stone, it was quite useful but not really needed.
He was just stunned that this stone appeared in this world. This had alerted Leon that non-canon items could appear.
"I've had this strange stone for Five years, but couldn't find any use for it. I even asked a few experts and they didn't know what it was good for. They said it had the same energy as the Moon Stone, but it didn't evolve any Moonstone-related Pokemon."
The old man recounted his history with the stone, but it was just a souvenir at this point. Leon didn't ask him for this information, but he was soon interested.
"Where did you get this stone shard from? I've never seen it before but I want to add it to my collection."
This shard was a rare find, but Eevee could be evolved into either two under the right conditions.
The old man explained that it was found deep in Mt. Moon during an expedition. The old man asked if Leon knew what the stone was used for.
Naturally, Leon wouldn't tell him the truth, so he said it looked nice. The old man was suspicious but he sold it to Leon for ₽500.
Leon thanked the old man before leaving back to his stall. He wanted to drop off his item since he couldn't carry so many.
Leon placed these items in his duffle bag before grabbing a bit more money. He wanted to walk around the Black market to see what he could find.
"You guys continue to guard these items, you know what to do if anyone tries anything." The Pokemon on guard were 2 Machokes, Machamp, Kadabra, and Smeargle.
Kadabra's level was the highest, being at level Sixty-one. Most Pokemon and of course, people, couldn't threaten it in this area.
"Champ." Both Machamp and Kadabra nodded in reply.
Leon walked down the Black market streets. There were old dilapidated shops and old stalls set up.
"Selling a [Hard Stone] at a discount price. You won't find a sell like this here, come now while you can."
Leon looked in that direction and saw a donut-hairstyled fat man advertising his goods. He immediately inspected the stone in his hand, that he had been waving around.
[Polished Rock: This rock does nothing.]
'This Black market is filled with con artists, it's really a little too funny.' It was a good thing Leon had an eye for these things, or he'd get tricked as well.
Of course, there were even those who were clueless about what they were selling. Leon managed to buy a [Muscle Band] and [Mystic Water].
"There are some pretty good things around here if you have a good eye. Together, I bought them for ₽500 each, hehe, what a steal."
Leon couldn't help but laugh at the ignorance of these people. He had also bought a few Pokemon snacks for both his Houndooms.
"Hmm, speaking of which, I need to feed the Pokemon back at the building. I'm sure they're hungry after working so much."
Leon would need to drop by the mini food mart to grab a heap of Pokemon food and supplies. He also needed to feed the kids, which he had more than enough money to do.
'There's nothing else here, but that is the Black market for you. It's a hit or miss, but it's whatever.'
Leon sighed, but just when he was about to turn and leave he saw something on a stall. His vision was fairly decent. What stood out was the icy crystalline shards protruding out of this rock.
'Something really good has appeared.' Leon arrived in front of the stall where the item sat in plain view.
The man behind the stall wore a black T-shirt and shorts. The baseball cap was also black with a White P sign in the center. Both his feet were resting on his stall nonchalantly as he read a magazine.
"Oh, what are you buying? Are you trying to purchase some Pokeballs? I sell mine at a cheaper price compared to that rip-off Olaf."
The man quickly turned to Leon when he appeared in front of his stall.
"Yeah, I would like some Pokeballs, do you sell Great or Ultra balls?" Leon was also interested in higher-ranked Pokeballs.
"Ah, I only have regular Pokeballs and a limited number of Great balls. I can give you a discount if you buy them in bulk."
The man stroked his chin with a smile and said.
"This will do," Leon said and continued. "I also would like to buy this rock—if that's okay."
"Oh, so you're interested in this Icy Rock? I also have another rock that correlates with weather-like conditions."
'So this man is knowledgeable about what he's selling.'
Almost immediately, the man pulled out another rock and placed it on the stall.
'It's another legit product, the Smooth Rock.' Leon smiled and nodded, stating that he wanted both items.
The man sold both rocks for ₽5000 a piece. He also sold Leon Twenty-Five Pokeballs and Twenty Greatballs.
Each Pokeball was ₽2 and each Greatball was ₽6, which was a grand total of ₽2,170 spent.
"Hehe, if you're interested in buying anything else, I appear here only on this day and at this time."
"I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the transaction." Leon placed all of the shrunken Pokeballs and weather rocks into a small red sack bag.
'Forgive me, Olaf. I'll be sure to buy a few more items at your store at a later date.' Leon sighed. He honestly wanted Olaf's store to upgrade, so he could sell better items.
Olaf's store was a local store, and this area was a slum. Leon naturally didn't want a local store to go out of business.
'If I can build and invest in the area, I could make a serious profit. My guild will be established here, this is my home.'
Leon didn't plan on staying here, but he wished for this place to develop. He had many things he wanted to set up here before leaving, but Leon must first break away from Team Rocket.
Afterward, he could start his journey around the world. Of course, challenging the gyms was the main thing he wanted to do.
"Time to leave this market, I think I've collected enough things around here." Leon gazed down a dark murky alley before continuing on his way.
