บท 239: Chapter 7: Armies Clash
(With Sasuke and Itachi)
"They. Told. You?" Itachi said in barely restrained anger. To be honest it scared Sasuke to see his brother so angry. But he kept it in as he pressed forward.
"Itachi I almost joined an S-Rank Traitor to try and kill you, nearly got several genins and a chunin killed and almost personally killed my own teammate." Sasuke muttered ignoring Itachi's angry face. "What in Kami's name were you fucking thinking when you put me through that genjutsu!? Trying to have someone grow strong through hatred? Do you realize how god damn insane that is!? I almost drowned in it!"
Itachi said nothing, just listened to his little brother's rants.
"Please, just tell me why? Why did you do it? Why did you kill our whole clan?" By then Sasuke had tears pouring down his face. "Why did you leave my alive? I should've died that night with mother and father so why…why did you let me live?"
"Sasuke our clan had fallen." Itachi replied. "The hatred between them and the village for the past several generations was to great. A coup caused by a clan such as ours would've caused a civil war that would lead to both the village and the country's destruction and finally another Shinobi World War. I may have been young back then but I can still remember the horrors of it and I wanted to prevent any chances of another one happening no matter what. I took the burden and the blood of our kin and killed them for the sake of peace. However…I just couldn't kill you. You, my own little brother; meant more to me then anything else, even the village." Itachi finished. It took a lot out of him, emotionally, to say all of that, more so to his own brother.
By then tears were streaming down Sasuke's face. "You couldn't have done it alone. Someone must've helped you. Who was it?" Sasuke asked.
Itachi shook his head. "Even if I told you, you would be no match for him. He possesses techniques that you would not be able to match against. However his name is Madara Uchiha." Itachi said.
"Madara?" Sasuke asked. "As in the Uchiha Head who founded Konoha alongside the Shodaime Hokage? How can he be…?"
"I have my doubts about it myself. Though from what he knows so far either means he's the real Madara or someone who knows enough about the legendary Uchiha to pose as him." Itachi replied before he walked up towards Sasuke. He then poked Sasuke's forehead with his fingers, like he used to do in the past. "I am not long for this world Sasuke. All I can do left as your older brother is give you a gift, given to me by a good friend of mine."
Sasuke's eyes widened at Itachi's words. "What do you mean that you-" But his words were cut off when a pillar of chakra appeared from the center of the island, giving Itachi the chance to slip away.
(Back within the city)
The sheer force of chakra combined with five elements was very intense and difficult for many of the people gathered to keep their footing. The stronger combatants, such as the resurrected Hokages, Madara, Jiraiya, Pain, Orochimaru, a few of the Konoha jonins and Naruto were able to stay in place and watch as Sadahiko waved the sword around elegantly, the chakra around it changing from just silver to silver mixed with red, green, yellow, brown, blue and then back to red and so on. It followed the blade like a tail and some could say it was dancing too.
Sadahiko himself also seemed quite intimidating, his own chakra flaring to the point that it became visible and spread across the area almost like a raging sea. Sadahiko's eyes began to glow. Soon however the chakra died down though people could still see the silver colored chakra radiating off of the blade in Sadahiko's hands. "Now then" Sadahiko said as he stared at everyone while Naruto adjusted his chakra bracers to his arms. "Shall we begin?"
That seemed to have been the opener for the battle. Orochimaru quickly activated the control seals inside the four Hokages and Madara, allowing them to think and speak but took away their freewill and set their bodies on autopilot. Hashirama acted first this time, quickly weaving through hand seals. "Mokuton: Shokuhin Inugashira! (Wood Release: Foo Dog Heads)"And a series of wooden pillars with foo dog faces on them popped out of the ground and headed straight towards Naruto and Sadahiko, jaws opened wide. However neither Uzumaki seemed worried as Sadahiko raised his sword and silently brought it down and released a torrent of flames that met the pillars head on. The normally durable wood of the Shodaime Hokage was quickly reduced to cinders by the flames of Reijin Jinryu, with said flames still moving towards the reanimated Hokages and Orochimaru's group.
"Incredible! He burned the Shodaime's Mokuton Jutsu!" Jiraiya exclaimed in surprise. It was well known of how powerful Hashirama's Mokuton was. Not even Yamato, a person whom also possess the same bloodline, could do it at a level equal to legendary shinobi.
"Naruto-kun, I'm afraid I must returned back to my clan." Kasumi said to the young Uzumaki. She had been unaffected by the sword's power release, already familiar with it. "As the head female I cannot be out for too long unfortunately. But you can summon the rest of my kin if needed. I'm sure my mate would appreciate being called out."
"I understand, thanks Kasumi-dono." Naruto said sincerely. Sadahiko and Kasumi shared a respectful nod towards one another before the large kitsune disappeared in a poof of smoke.
Back with Orochimaru's group, said Snake Sannin along with Kabuto and Jugo got out of the way of the flames by leaping towards the building behind them. Madara activated his Susanoo's ribcage to protect himself from the flames. Hashirama, Tobirama and Hiruzen jumped out of the way too while Minato suddenly vanished. The Fourth Hokage reappeared above Naruto and Sadahiko, a Rasengan already formed. Minato slammed his Rasengan down but both Uzumakis vanished from their spot, causing the attack to hit the ground.
"What the-" Minato didn't have a chance to finish his sentence as Naruto reappeared on his right and kicked his father on the sides. The chakra enhanced kick sent Minato flying, crashing through several buildings doing so. Most of the onlookers were in shock.
"I-incredible! He was able to counter Minato-sensei's speed!" Kakashi exclaimed in shock. So far no one but the Yondaime Raikage was able to keep up with the famed speed of the Yellow Flash. And yet Naruto, Minato's son, pulled it off with ease.
"Interesting" Tobirama said as he reappeared beside Naruto. The Nidaime Hokage threw a punch at Naruto, only for the redhead to dodge it and cut off the arm with his chakra blades. But the white-haired Senju jumped back. "That speed of yours was quite similar to the Hiraishin. Though seeing how your father uses it, it doesn't come as a surprise that you would master it too." The Nidaime Hokage said as his arm regenerated.
Naruto snorted. "Please as if. That was the result of my own Space-Time Ninjutsu, Mikado. It's a technique I created and the successor of the Hiraishin that both you and Namikaze use." Naruto replied.
Those that heard him were surprised, especially Tobirama, Jiraiya and Kakashi. Tobirama never expected someone to create a technique that could succeed the Hiraishin and was quite curious to see it. Jiraiya and Kakashi were shocked that Naruto managed to create a technique that could outdo Minato's signature technique. But this was his and Kushina's son, who was known for being unpredictable. "Really, then I would like to see this successor technique if you don't mind." Tobirama said as he charged forward. Naruto activated his bracer's chakra blades again and charged towards the Nidaiame Hokage too.
Meanwhile back with Sadahiko, said person had reappeared beside Madara on his right, ready to strike his former student down. However Madara anticipated this and swung his Susanoo arm at Sadahiko, deflecting Reijin Jinryu. Then with the other arm, Madara grabbed the blade with Susanoo's hand. This caught Sadahiko off guard momentarily and gave Madara an opening for his Susanoo to deliver a punch at the Uzumaki. But Sadahiko merely countered by releasing a blast of lightning from his sword. The lightning shot out of the Susanoo's hand and struck Madara right in the chest, sending him flying several blocks away.
'Madara and Hashirama are the real problem here. Having them near the seal is dangerous and the risk of it breaking from our fight is to great to ignore. I'll have to lead them outside.' Sadahiko thought as Hashirama and Hiruzen reappeared. The former made a bo staff from his wood and gave it to Hiruzen to use as a weapon. Orochimaru soon joined them as he and the Edo Tensei Hiruzen went to deal with the Konoha Shinobi while Hashirama went to assist Madara in fighting Sadahiko. Said Uchiha had already recovered and was charging towards Sadahiko from the right.
With Hashirama coming from the left and Madara on the right, Sadahiko quickly slammed his blade into the ground. The results were waves of earth shooting up from the ground towards Hashirama and Madara. The sudden attack was unexpected but the two legendary Shinobi managed to avoid being washed away by the tide of earth. Hashirama landed by Sadahiko first and engaged him in close combat with Madara soon joining him. Sadahiko resorted to using his sword and fists to fight back.
(With Konoha Group)
"Jiraiya-sama we should go back up Naruto!" Kakashi advised. Even though he had seen Naruto's current skill set, fighting against a two Kage-Level people like the Yondaime and Nidaime Hokage was another matter.
"What makes you think we're going to let you?" A voice asked.
The group had to separate as Kisame came down, slamming his Samehade into the ground, creating a large crack. The blue skinned man moved quickly, lifting his sword up and charged towards Kakashi. However he was stopped when Yugao appeared, blocking Kisame's sword with her own. "Yugao!" Kakashi exclaimed as said woman and Kisame jumped away from each other.
"I've always wanted to take on one of the famed Seven Swordsmen of the Mist." Yugao said as she held her sword.
"Heh fine I guess I'll make mince meat out of you first." Kisame said with a shark-like grin. He went in for another swing but Yugao did a flip over Kisame, landing behind him. She then lunged her sword forward, aiming for Kisame's back. But the swordsman merely deflected it with Samehade and the two swords clashed again. "Well maybe this won't be as boring as I thought." Kisame chuckled as he engaged the ANBU kunoichi once more.
The rest of the Konoha group had engaged their opponents. Jiraiya had spotted Pain going towards where Naruto was fighting against Minato and Tobirama and immediately rushed off to fight the Akatsuki leader, Kakashi right behind him. Yamato, Kiba and Akamaru took on Konan, with the Wood User using his Mokuton bloodline to launch tall wooden pillars towards the paper kunoichi, while Kiba and Akamaru tried to hit her repeatedly with Gatsugas. Konan however managed to dodge these attacks while firing paper projectiles from her wings, which were blocked by Tenzo's wood. Tenten had engaged Deidara, the two having a battle of explosions with Deidara's clay bombs and Tenten's explosive tags.
Meanwhile with Naruto; despite Kakashi's earlier claim, was holding his own quite well against the two past Hokages. Despite Minato using the Hirashin, he couldn't keep up with Naruto, whom was using Mikado, having set up several seals around the area before the battle started. When either Tobirama or Minato tried to strike Naruto, then the young Uzumaki would just teleport to one another seals for safety.
'This boy is putting up a pretty good fight.' Tobirama thought as he watched Naruto and Minato fight from a distance. 'I've been trying to see the difference between his Mikado and the Hiraishin but so far nothing. All I've seen so far is that he's been using it to escape a tight bind or redirect or weapons back to us-wait that's it!'
Just as he finished the thought Tobirama's shinobi instincts went up. A hail of kunai was flying at him from behind, appearing out of nowhere. The Nidaime Hokage easily jumped out of the way before heading towards Minato and Naruto. The father and son duel was interrupted when Tobirama tried to deliver a kick to the head. But Naruto managed to duck and did a backwards flip away from the two undead Hokages. Naruto stared at them, chakra blades currently off.
"I see" Tobirama said as he lowered is leg, Minato beside him. "It really is the Hiraishin's successor." Minato gave Tobirama a confused look while Naruto just stared. The Nidaime Hokage continued. "Hiraishin is a Space-Time Ninjutsu design to allow the user to teleport to any location where the seal formula is placed, along with anyone near them or any object that heads towards the user, transporting it somewhere far away. However your Mikado does more then that. While it allows you to teleport yourself, anyone and anything near you to a different location, it let's you do the opposite too. You can teleport anything or anyone near another seal formula in a different location to your location, kind of like reverse summoning. With that you can gain an assortment of different weapons or take the enemy by surprise. In short your jutsu is a two-way bridge; going from and to you."
Naruto smirked; he was impress that Tobirama was able to figure out the works of his Mikado so quickly. Still that didn't mean that Naruto was going to lose. "Well then I guess we'll have to try this differently huh?" Naruto asked as he quickly formed a set of hand seals. "Katon: Nobi Kohai no Jutsu! (Wildfire Devastation)" Naruto said as he released a massive blast of flames heading straight towards the two Hokages.
"Suton: Suijinheki! (Water Formation Wall)" Tobirama as he formed his own hand seal. The water molecules in the air around him began to gather and take the form of giant water barrier that protected Tobirama and Minato from the fire. The two elements clashes and the results were a massive steam of mist forming around the area. Soon afterwards the flames died down just as the water did too. Tobirama however was thinking of why Naruto used a direct Katon attack against him, a master water user.
As if answering the Nidaime Hokage, several sounds of something breaking out of the ground could be heard from within the steam. Both Minato and Tobirama barely had enough time to jump out of the way as chakra chains impaled where they once stood. "This is the Uzumaki's Kongo Fusa! (Adamantine Sealing Chains)" Exclaimed Minato as he dodged several chains.
'So that's why he fired the Katon technique. He knew that I would use a Suton technique to counter it, creating a mist thick enough to hide his chakra chains. Good strategy' Tobirama thought as he dodged another chain. However he couldn't react in time when a third chain came from behind, wrapping itself around Tobirama. By then the mist had already cleared and the Nidaime Hokage found himself hanging in mid air.
Suddenly appearing before him was Naruto, a Rasengan formed and ready to strike. But just as he neared Tobirama, Minato suddenly behind Naruto with one of his special kunai in hand and ready to strike his own son while Naruto was focus on the Nidaime Hokage. But in a stroke of luck, the most unexpected person saved Naruto. From his position above Pain released a force of gravity downwards, sending Naruto, Minato and Tobirama crashing into the ground below.
"I cannot have you kill the jinchuuriki, Yondaime Hokage." Deva Path said as he jumped off his summons, the rest of the paths following behind him. He began making his way towards Naruto when he suddenly had to jump backwards as Uyoku came down upon him. The red ogre's axe struck the ground and left a large crater in it. Meanwhile Sayoku came to Naruto's aid as it batted away the two dazed Hokages with its shield.
"Ugh good timing you guys." Naruto said to the two ogres as Uyoku jumped beside him and Sayoku. Pain's attack took him by surprise and while Kurama was healing the wounds, it still stung like a bitch. The ogres only grunted as they took up positions beside Naruto as the Hokages got back up and into fighting stances.
Suddenly two more figures appeared near on the other side of Naruto. Said people were Kakashi and Jiraiya, however the latter had gone under a drastic change. Jiraiya's appearance seemed like a cross between a toad and a human and oddly enough Naruto could see a pair of small toads with him, one on each of Jiraiya's shoulder, The Uzumaki could also sense the toad's absorbing natural energy and converting it into chakra for Jiraiya.
"I can't believe that you're really fighting on the Island of the War Gods, Jiraiya-chan!" The female toad exclaimed. "And right when I'm cooking too!" She added as she waved a frying pan that appeared out of nowhere threateningly.
"Now, now Ma. I'm sure Jiraiya-chan has his reasons." The male toad replied. "Still she brings up a good point boy. This island isn't exactly a five star resort for us summons. The wild chakra flowing around this island is very agitating. Besides I thought you disliked this form, said it scared all the ladies away."
"Forgive me, Shima-sama, Fukasaku-sama. But the situation demanded that I go full out. I'll do my best to explain everything." Jiraiya replied. At the same time Naruto was having his own thoughts towards Jiraiya going into Sage Mode.
'Damn it, the old toad is absorbing the natural energy needed to hold Hachiro's seal.' Naruto thought in aggravation. 'And it looks like a skirmish is happening between Konoha, Orochimarus's group and Akatsuki elsewhere in the city. Yujin and Guren still haven't arrived yet. Guess I'll have to go all out. Ready Kurama?' Naruto asked the fox.
"Ready when you are." Kurama replied from within the seal. Naruto nodded as he began focusing Kurama chakras with his. All the other fighters noticed a change in Naruto's chakra. Not soon after their eyes widened as they watched a transformation appear on the young Uzumaki.
(Sadahiko's Battle)
Far away from the city, Sadahiko could sense the change in Naruto's chakra from his position. 'If Naruto is going to use that form then that means that things are getting more out of hand then I thought.' Sadahiko thought as he gazed at the city from a top of a tree.
His musings were cut short when a shadow enveloped him. Looking up Sadahiko saw Madara, encased in a partially complete Susanoo. Once in position, the ethereal being brought a sword down on the Uzumaki whom merely blocked it with his own sword with ease before releasing a large stream of flames from Reijin Jinryu. The flames consumed the Susanoo and sent Madara flying backwards. But as he flew away from Sadahiko, Madara formed a set of hand seals. "Katon: Goka Messhitsu! (Fire Release: Great Fire Destruction)" And released a vast stream of flames from his mouth towards Sadahiko.
Sadahiko prepared to counter it when suddenly dozens of wood branches popped out of the ground and swarmed around the tree. They were prepared to lunge at Sadahiko just as the fire reached him. But Sadahiko released a pulse of chakra in the form of a shockwave, obliterating the branches and deflecting the flames. As he just thought himself in the clear he had to avoid a kick to the face from Hashirama, who appeared out of nowhere. Hashirama lunged at Sadahiko again in mid air, but Sadahiko yelled, "Uzumaki Chop!" And brought his left hand, covered by a slightly larger yellow glowing hand, on top of Hashirama's head. The blow sent the Shodaime Hokage straight down to the ground, creating a crater as dust formed from the impact.
Sadahiko didn't have time for a brief respite, as Madara was on him again, engaging the elder Uzumaki in close combat. "It seems that old age hasn't made you lose your edge Sadahiko." Madara commented.
"Oh please you should know that we Uzumaki don't know the meaning of tiring." Sadahiko said during their little brawl. However he quickly managed to slap Madara's right hand away with his left, surprising the Uchiha who lost his focus. Taking an opening Sadahiko lunged his sword into Madara's abdomen. "However you seem to have lost some of your concentration since the last time I saw you Madara." Sadahiko commented before firing a large stream of flame from the blade, incinerating Madara's upper half.
Sadahiko was about to seal the Uchiha when he had to dodge a large wooden hand coming at him. The hand shielded the lower half of Madara, said half falling to the ground while it slowly reformed. Sadahiko landed safely on the ground before looking up. Standing before him was a giant wooden humanoid being with a wooden dragon wrapped around its body. And standing on top of its head was Hashirama. The wood giant then made another lunge at Sadahiko who once more dodged it. As he evaded the giant arm Sadahiko swung his sword and sliced off the left leg. This caused the wood giant to lose its balance but it still tried to make a grab at Sadahiko, only to be obliterated by a beam of lightning from said person's sword.
The Shodaime Hokage managed to jump off his wooden giant and landed on the ground safely before lunging at Sadahiko. Hashirama launched a barrage of punches and kicks, all of them deflected by Sadahiko who used his sword. Soon getting an opening in the Shodaime's attacks, Sadahiko smacked Hashirama to the side with the flat side of his blade. But as he was sent flying, Hashirama formed the Snake Seal and when he landed he cried out, "Mokuton: Mokuryu no Jutsu! (Wood Release: Wood Dragon Technique)" And summoned a large wooden chinese dragon from the ground. It let out a roar as it charged straight towards Sadahiko. Said person didn't look the least bit worried. Instead Sadahiko raised Jinryu Reijin and formed an enlarged blade of wind around it. The wooden dragon was sliced in two by the blade, completely missing Sadahiko.
"Something as obvious as that won't work on me!" Sadahiko yelled as his blade switched from wind to flames. The flames consumed the now halved wooden dragon, forming two lines of flames. Sadahiko redirected the flames right back at Hashirama with full force. Hashirama managed to react quickly by forming a three-layer wall of wood that managed to deflect the flames.
Just as he was going to press the attack, Sadahiko heard a whirling sound from above. Looking up he saw three blue rings, each one having three blue tomoes, heading towards him. Sadahiko instantly recognized them as Susanoo's Yasaka Magatama and slammed his sword into the ground. From there he summoned a moving wave of rising earth that met the spiraling tomoes head on. The two destroyed one another a safe distance from Sadahiko.
Suddenly Madara in a complete Susanoo, plus feet, appeared above him and fists at the ready. However just as the ethereal fist made contact with his body, Sadahiko disappeared in a shunshin, dodging Madara's attack that instead hit the ground and forming a crater. Madara cursed but was sent flying by a chakra-enhanced kick by Sadahiko. The kick caused Susanoo to break a bit and sent it and Madara flying back a fair distance.
"Now while he's there…" Sadahiko muttered before turning his sight towards Hashirama. Said person just lowered his wooden barrier as the flames died. "I'll take care of wood boy first!" Sadahiko declared as he lunged towards the Shodaime Hokage, sword pointing forward.
Hashirama spotted this and countered by summoning a pair of large wooden hands from the ground just as Sadahiko neared him. The large hands clapped right on the blade, holding it in place. Sadahiko was momentarily taken by surprise that Hashirama took the chance to charge at Sadahiko, already forming a pair of sharp wooden swords. However Sadahiko merely release a large blast of lightning that not only obliterated the wooden hands and freeing his blade, but destroyed a large portion of Hashirama's body who was near the hands when it happened.
"Gotcha!" Sadahiko declared as he made a grab for Hashirama. Unfortunately just as his fingers brushed against the Senju's form, Madara soon returned, aiming a kick to Sadahiko's head. The Uzumaki had to retract his hand to block the kick and force Madara back, while also giving Hashirama a chance to fall back too. The result was having Hashirama and Madara on either side of Sadahiko. The redhead paused as he calmly analyzed the situation.
"You know you two were never this careless in a fight." Sadahiko commented. "Could it be that being undead has made you guys less concern of your welfare? Don't forget I can easily seal you if I get the chance." He explained.
"Hmph I guess we have been a little bit careless eh Madara?" Hashirama noted with a small grin on his face.
"Indeed, though you should be more concern about yourself Sadahiko." Madara commented. "While it's true that your powers haven't waned over the years, you're no longer in your prime and even your vast amount of chakra will run out if we keep fighting like this." Then the Uchiha took a glance at Reijin Jinryu. "Plus, with that sword out and activated, you can't use any ninjutsu because of the amount of concentration that the sword's powers requires. Meaning you can't use your fame Onmyoton."
Sadahiko just stared at Madara before looking at his sword. What he said was true, having Reijin Jinryu activated came with the cost of Sadahiko being unable to use Ninjutsu and anything related to it. He also couldn't use Genjutsu not that he used it often. And Sage Mode was out of the question because the blade absorbed natural energy to fast for Sadahiko to get. However…
Sadahiko smirked, something Hashirama and Madara noticed. "I admit I am old. And don't forget no one is perfect, something that I taught both of you." The elder Uzumaki then stared at Madara with a harden gaze. "Something you seemed to have forgotten Madara."
Madara frowned as Sadahiko got into a stance, still talking. "Plus, do you really think that something as being unable to use Onmyoton…will really give you an edge in this fight?" He yelled as his chakra flared to insane levels, forming a visible pillar of chakra causing his cloak to float up a bit. "I believe this is a perfect chance to reeducate the two of you of how frightening I can be!" Sadahiko declared.
Both undead shinobi realized that the time for talk was over. With Sadahiko flaring his chakra. Madara quickly activated his Susanoo while Hashirama summoned a large wooden dragon. Once done the two charged towards the Uzumaki, who had raised his sword, and the fight continued.
(Back with Naruto)
"W-what is that?" Kakashi murmured as he looked at the scene before him in awe. Standing before them was Naruto covered in what appeared to be moving yellow flames with black markings all over his body. Covering him was something akin to a cloak of the same color that reached his ankles, long sleeves over his arms and a high collar. Two strands of hair were now sticking up on Naruto's head, looking like horns almost while Naruto's eyes had gone golden with black slit pupils, his whiskers also darkening too.
"Is that…the Kyuubi's chakra?" Jiraiya murmured though Naruto caught it.
"The Kyuubi?" Tobirama questioned. "Not even Mito could do something like that." The Nidaime Hokage said.
Pain just looked on in silence with just a bit of interest.
"Bingo pervy sage." Naruto said with a dark grim as he stared at his former godfather's direction. "The fox and I are good pals now." Naruto said as he flexed his arm. "And thanks to the Shinigami Mask I have his full chakra, both Yang and Yin" He said the last part while taking a glance at Minato.
The Yondaime Hokage heard those words and had a surprise look on his face. He then tried channeling the Yin Chakra that he had sealed into the Shinigami's stomach nineteen years ago…but nothing happened. Where a cloak similar to Naruto's should've covered Minato, nothing appeared.
Seeing his father's shocked reaction Naruto continued. "It was difficult at first. Having your stomach sliced open is painful, even with my Uzumaki life force and the Kyuubi's regneration. Not to mention getting just the Kyuubi's Yin Chakra and not the souls trapped within." Naruto looked at his hands, both cloaked in Kurama's chakra, images of Kiko coming into his mind. "However, in order to protect what is most dear for me, I will endure."
Before anyone could question what he meant Naruto was gone…before reappearing behind Kakashi and Jiraiya. Naruto delivered two powerful hits to the back of the head, sending both men flying forward. 'Fast!' Jiraiya thought as he and the two Toad Elders were skidding across the ground. Fortunately Fukasaku extended his tongue, wrapping it around some debris and spun the three in a U-turn. Kakashi didn't have that comfort but was able to stop himself by applying chakra to his feet and attaching himself to the ground.
Pain decided to take on several people at once, dividing his Paths with the other combatants moving too. Human and Asura Path took on Minato while Animal Path, Tobirama, and Jiraiya began a three-way battle, Kakashi had the pleasure of fighting both Sayoku and Uyoku engaged him, the Naraka Path had disappeared, which only left Naruto facing Preta Path and Deva Path.
"I guess that just leaves you and me then." Naruto said to the two paths, getting no response in return. 'I can't sense where the sixth path is. Nagato must be taking this battle seriously if he's hiding his only way of reviving the other paths. I'll have to wait for an opening to look for it before dealing with others. Yujin and Guren should be here soon.' Naruto thought to himself as he launched towards the Deva and Preta Path. As he did several yellow chakra hands popped out of his cloak. Each one soon began forming a Rasengan in them. "Rasenrangan! (Spiraling Strife Spheres)" Naruto said as all chakra arms extended towards the two Paths, the Rasengans in their hands ready to crush them. However the Preta Path merely stood in front of the Deva Path and extended its hands outwards. When the chakra hands were close enough, the Path began to absorb them and the Rasengans at once with what appeared to be an invisible barrier around the Path.
"Had a feeling that wouldn't work." Naruto muttered as he kept charging. "All well let's try something else." He commented before stopping midway, doing a knee slide almost on the ground. Naruto then raised his right hand upwards. Pain watched with curiosity at what Naruto was going to do next.
"Uzumaki Fighting Style." Naruto muttered. "Hado: Assei Kazemichi! (Wave Motion: Iron Hand Wind Path)" He yelled as he swung his hand downwards like a karate chop. Doing so launched a large force of a yellow energy shockwave. It was flying towards the two Paths at high speed. Nagato was about to have his Path absorb the attack when at the last second, his shinobi instincts went up and he commanded both Paths to move out of the attacks way. Unfortunately only Deva Path was lucky to avoid it, while Preta Path was blown away by the attack and then afterwards blew its body apart, sending them everywhere.
'That was no ninjutsu.' Nagato thought. 'That's what when an Uzumaki use their unique bodies to release powerful energy shockwaves. Moves that release projectiles that are made not from using chakra but just pure willpower, strength and speed that only the Uzumaki Clan can wield. The fighting style known as Hado (Wave Motion).' He concluded, having read about when he was looking up his mother's clan years ago.
"Looks like you recognize it." Naruto said, guessing what Nagato was thinking. "It will be interesting to meet you in person face to face when this is all over."
Not wasting anytime Deva Path raised its right hand and murmured. "Shinrai Tensei!"
"Kazeyashi! (Wind Palm)" Naruto said in response and thrust his right palm outwards. Over it a small flat disk of compress wind began to form. Nagato's gravitational force met with a sudden force of wind pressure hitting it. Much to his surprise, Naruto's technique managed to resist his but eventually Nagato won. However Naruto's technique managed to make him skid back a few feet rather then being thrown backwards by the gravity. 'He can counter my gravity?' Nagato thought with surprise. Zetsu had reported that during Naruto's battle with Deidara and Sasori the jinchuuriki had displayed a great amount of skill with Futon. But the Akatsuki leader didn't think it would be to the extent that Naruto could counter Shinrai Tensei, even if by a margin.
Naruto continued his attack, plunging a chakra hand into the ground. As predicted the hand popped back out underneath Deva Path, who managed to dodge by jumping into the air, avoiding the large yellow hand. While in the air he again raised his hand outwards towards Naruto. "Bansho Tenin." He murmured.
Suddenly a powerful force pulled in Naruto, sending him straight towards Pain. However Pain wasn't done there; extending his other hand he pulled in a large chunk of stone from a nearby building towards Naruto too. He knew that Naruto would be able to push back a simple attack like this. But if Nagato could get one or two of his chakra rods on the boy then he could seal off the Kyuubi's chakra and capture him.
However what he did not expect was for Naruto to shoot out two chakra hands from the bottom of his feet. They grabbed the ground and pulled Naruto downwards automatically. But Naruto didn't stop there; he summoned a third chakra hand to grab the large projectile and instead hurl it at Deva Path. Pain merely used Shinrai Tensei to repel the projectile away from him before landing on the ground away from Naruto. Both combatants stared at one another, taking the other in with emotionless gazes.
As Naruto charged towards Deva Path, the young Uzumaki had to dodge a large orange centipede that tried to crush him with it's body weight. But Naruto easily dodged it and sliced it in half. Animal Path appeared soon afterwards and not even bothered the slightest by the centipedes death, summoned a Rhino, Ox and the Three-Headed Dog. "No helping it…" Naruto muttered as he bit his finger before slamming his hand on the ground. "Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" Naruto shouted and a large poof of smoke covered him. A minute later a large figure leaped out of the ground towards Nagato's summons. The Animal and Deva Path saw that it was another large fox. This fox had red fur and was a male judging by its body stature. Furthermore it had nine-tails and Nagato nearly mistook it as the Kyuubi.
"Let's go, Kogetsu-dono!" Naruto declared on top of the fox. A wild grin was on his face while still in his chakra cloak.
"With pleasure gaki!" Kogetsu, the Chief of the Fox Clan, roared in agreement as he released a wave of flames at the Rhino Summon.
(Konoha vs. Akatsuki vs. Orochimaru)
The battlefield between the three groups was a mess, as one would expect. During the time since the battle began, several more Konoha shinobi arrived, said people being the rest of Team Kurenai, Rock Lee and Asuma Sarutobi, increasing Konoha's number. Asuma had informed the other Konoha-nin that Tsunade had just arrived and while she was healing their injured comrades, Asuma and the others had been sent to finish the mission.
The three members of Orochimaru's group, Kabuto, Jugo and Hiruzen were each taking on an opponent respectively. Kabuto had begun a fight against Yugao, whom had disengaged from fighting Kisame and was now fighting the silver-hair medic-nin. She had a score to settle with Kabuto whom had a hand in the death of her lover, Hayate. Jugo was fighting against Hinata Hyuuga and Shino Aburame. His brute strength matching Hinata's Jyuken and Jugo's constant absorption of Natural Energy helping repel Shino's attempt of absorbing his chakra. Rock Lee had engaged Kisame in Yugao's place. The young taijutsu user was holding his own pretty well, what with not using chakra, making Kisame's sword's ability useless. Kiba and Tenten were still battling Konan and Deidara, neither side getting an edge. And finally Hiruzen and Asuma were locked in combat, a father and son duel. Orochimaru found the last one poetically delicious.
Hiruzen, whom was somehow unable to summon Enma, launched a barrage of kicks and punches at his son. Asuma managed to dodge them easily though, with a few close calls now and then. His trench knives already out and cloaked in chakra, Asuma launched a left swing at his father. Hiruzen managed to dodge the punch but was unprepared for the Asuma's right fist to him from below. The trench knife in the hand was hold in the forward direction, chakra coming out to increase the blade's range. The chakra blade pierced Hiruzen's chest, going through it completely. Unfortunately since Hiruzen was an undead, it did little to stop the Sandaime Hokage as he merely delivered a roundhouse kick to Asuma's stomach. The blow caused the younger Sarutobi to gasp as he skidded backwards. But he managed to recover quickly and got back into a fighting stance.
Grinning while staring at his father, Asuma said, "I have to admit pops; I always wanted to see what it was like to fight you seriously."
Hiruzen smirked as well. "Unfortunately the damn seal my student placed on me won't let me hold back Asuma. Though I must wonder why I cannot summon Enma?" The elder Sarutobi replied before charging forward.
"That would Konohamaru's doing." Asuma answered as he engaged his father once more. The two were fighting fiercely but despite that, they were still able to have a father and son chat. "He signed the Monkey Contract when he became a genin. And after becoming jonin two years ago, the Monkey Clan made him the new Contract Holder, with Konohamaru planning to give it to his cousin Mirai-chan next when she's old enough." Asuma said as he dodged a punch. "Plus he can use Monkey Sage Mode for a bit. Guess with him taking your position as Contract Holder means you can't summon Enma."
Hiruzen had a proud smile on his face as he heard how far his grandson had grown over the past few years. But then he frowned when he heard the word "cousin". However he quickly realized what that meant. "Hoh, so you and Kurenai-chan finally got together huh Asuma?" Hiruzen asked his son.
Asuma just shrugged sheepishly. "Well guess now you know I have a few more reasons of not losing-"
Asuma's sentence was cut off when he noticed something falling from the sky. In fact some of the other combatants noticed it too and that it was heading straight towards Jugo. The young haired orange man managed to land a blow on Hinata, forcing the Hyuuga heiress back, when a shadow over fell Jugo. Said person, his left side a dark grey and a blade sticking out from his arms, only had enough time to look up before something struck him down hard. The impact was strong enough to knock out the usually durable Jugo and kick up a storm of dust everywhere. Of course everyone paused to see who the newcomer was and when they did, some paled slightly. For standing over an unconscious Jugo was Yujin, only wearing his pants and sandals. However he was holding a minigun with a grey strapped attached and was currently over his left shoulder. Yujin stared around at everyone, a blank look in his eyes.
"Hmm, guess I'll start with you lot." Yujin mused as he placed some black shades over his eyes. "Well without further ado…hasta la vista, baby." And with that he began firing the minigun. That was the signal for everyone to take cover as wave after wave of bullets flew towards them and they seemed endless. Deidara tried throwing a wave of small clay birds at Yujin from above. But the green-skin man merely raised his weapon upwards and fired a barrage of bullets. The bullets struck the clay bombs and detonated them upon impact, a safe distance away from Yujin.
It only got worse for Deidara as the clay bird he was standing on was directly in front of the flying bullets. "Shit!" Deidara cursed as he realized that he couldn't move out of the way in time. The bullets ripped through the clay bird's right wing, with one piercing Deidara's right leg. The crippled bird began descending at a fast rate towards the outside of the city.
"OH THERE GOING TO HAVE TO GLUE YOU BACK TOGETHER…IN HELL!" Yujin declared as he turned his attention back to the others. By then everyone knew that Yujin wasn't going to be running out ammunition any time soon. All they could do now was dodge and take cover.
"WAAH! WAAH! WAAH!" Yujin yelled as he continued his assault, effectively pinning down the shinobis. He laughed maniacally due to the adrenaline rush going through him. "HA, HA, HA, HA! Cry some more!" He shouted.
SLASH
Yujin's yells stopped as he noticed his minigun being cut in two at the barrel the person responsibility behind him, her sword drawn. His attention on Deidara's bombs gave Yugao the opening she needed to get close enough. Once she was near it was a simple swing of her sword to render Yujin's weapon useless. "That takes care of your weapon." Yugao said confidently.
The purple-haired woman spun around to incapacitate Yujin, but was unprepared for the green man's reaction timing. With a strong downward swing, Yujin karate chopped Yugao to the ground, knocking her out instantly. "Now you really done it girl. I now have to terminate you." Yujin commented as he raised his foot above Yugao's head.
"Yugao-san!" Tenten shouted as she, Kiba and Akamaru made a dash towards Yujin. Tenten jumped into the air with two scrolls in her hands and then released said scrolls as they spun around her body. With Yujin's attention on her, Kiba and his ninken partner managed to grab Yugao and take her to safety. "Soshoryu! (Twin Rising Dragons)" Tenten yelled as waves and waves of various weapons shot out of the scrolls, all heading straight for Yujin. Said person stared at the oncoming projectiles and noticed that a few had explosive tags attached to them. However he still did not move as the waves of weapons struck him, picking up dust and explosions going off all around Yujin.
"Did I get him?" Tenten asked herself as she began her descend back to the ground. Her answer came in the form of a spiked ball with an explosive tag, shooting out of the smoke and flying towards her. Tenten could barely react as it hit her, resulting in a small explosion that engulfed the weapon mistress.
"Bulls Eye! Yay!" Yujin's voice cheered from the smoke at how his throw hit dead on. As the smoke finally dispersed it revealed a completely unharmed Yujin. Around him were scattered weapons across the ground.
While Yujin, an in extension the concerned Konoha shinobi, were focused on Tenten being hit by the explosion, Konan did a dive towards the green-skin man. She could tell by now that this man was a more serious threat currently and eliminating him came first. So with that in mind the blue-haired woman released a barrage of sharp paper shurikens towards Yujin's exposed back. However the paper shurikens were struck by a wave of small crystals, piercing the papers and away from Yujin. Konan had a surprised look on her face as Guren soon landed beside Yujin, back to back.
"Damn Yujin-san, could you've slowed down a bit?" Guren asked. The green-skin man had been moving at max speed in order to reach the city.
Yujin scratched his head sheepishly. "My bad, my bad." He said before getting serious. "Anyway I've already taken out four of them. And it looks like Naruto-sama and Sadahiko-sama are taking on the bigger fish. That just leaves these folks to us."
"Guren!" A voice hissed, catching the purple-hair woman's attention. She looked to her left and spotted Kabuto, a mix of annoyed and anger look on his face. He couldn't believe that the woman was still alive and worse of all defected to Naruto's side.
Guren however had a curious look on his face before a smirk formed. "Well if it isn't Kabuto. Been a while right?" The Crystal used asked casually, earning more of Kabuto's ire.
"I always knew that you couldn't be trusted. Especially when you began to bond with that brat Yukimaru." Kabuto commented as a he drew a curved kunai. A sinister grin formed on his face "Though I suppose this is rather a fortunate outcome; I can now finally have the pleasure of killing you myself!" And with that he dashed towards Guren at an impressive speed.
Guren wasted no time and immediately summoned a wave of crystal spikes popping out of the ground. However Kabuto easily dodged them as he moved in for the kill. "Futon: Daitoppa! (Wind Release: Great Breakthrough)" Kabuto released a powerful gust of wind that headed straight towards Guren and Yujin.
"Kessho: Rokkaku Shuriken! (Crystal: Hexagonal Shuriken)" Guren said as she created several crystal shuriken. The two attacks canceled each other out but allowed Guren to get the jump on Kabuto, having already formed a blade of crystal on both arms. Kabuto was no forced onto the defense as he parried Guren's attacks. "Oh, looks like you've improved a bit these past few years." Guren mocked as her fight with Kabuto took to the roofs of the buildings.
"As always you speak as if you've always been better then me." Kabuto returned as he parried another strike. "However allow me to prove of how wrong you are!" Moving quickly, Kabuto summoned a pair of stone slabs from the building, one each side of Guren. Not the least bit fazed Guren raised both her arms and stopped both stone slabs by crystallizing them upon contact.
Unfortunately that was Kabuto's plan. For as Guren was focused on the slabs the glasses wearing young man moved at incredible speed towards the Crystal user, chakra scalpels activated. Just as Kabuto was about to gorge Guren's stomach a crystal snowflake formed over Guren's front side, stopping Kabuto's strike, much to his shock.
What happened next was too fast for anyone below Jonin-level. For just a second after Kabuto's hand met with the crystal armor, the tips of his fingers were being covered by crystal, with it slowly moving over the rest of his right hand. It was only thanks to Kabuto's speed that he managed to jump back from the purple-head lady, saving his hand from being turned into crystal. Kabuto took a moment to examine his hand, noticing that the crystal was now coming off. 'If I hadn't covered my hands with my chakra scalpel in the first place, I doubt I would have a hand left.' Kabuto thought grimly, realizing how close he was to losing.
"Oh, you sure did prove me wrong…you move a lot faster now at running away then in the past." Guren said mockingly. Since her defection from Orochimaru along with Gozu and Yukimaru, and her eventually companionship with Naruto, Guren had increased her bloodline skills. It was also thanks to Yujin, whom had several scrolls of Shoton Jutsu, that Guren could advance to a level that, according to Yujin, was on par with a Kage. Now she could crystallize anything with just a touch, excluding intangible objects such as lightning, fire and wind. Plus her taijutsu physical skills like strength, speed, stamina and reflexes also increased too were an added bonus. With that Guren recreated her crystal arm blades and dueled Kabuto once more.
Back with Yujin, said person was taking on the remainders of the Konoha Group and Akatsuki. It was clear to them all that this green-skin person was not an easy adversary. His ability to alter his body's structure was proving to be very difficult. It allowed Yujin to counter nearly every move and tactic that the shinobis could think of…and he didn't even look like he was trying. The fact he managed to take out four shinobi, one an S-rank missing-nin and the other an ANBU Black Ops, proved of how strong he was.
Currently Yujin was surrounded by the remaining shinobi that could still fight. Not the least bit frightened by the odds Yujin muttered, "As much as I like to have so many come at me at once. I prefer to end this quickly, even if slightly messy. So without further ado…" He bent his knees and pulled his arms back, making everyone tense. They had learned not to charge in recklessly just because of Yujin's carefree and comedic nature. But they were not prepared for what happened next.
"Banzai no Hanabi! (Hooray Fireworks)" Yujin shouted with a large grin. Stretching outwards he released a wild barrage of punches, his arms extending at an extraordinary length. The punches were wild and uncoordinated, hitting everything and anyone around the man while he yelled out "Banzai". Buildings began to crumble from the onslaught of punches and the shinobi were forced to scatter while the Konoha-nins were taking their unconscious comrades to safety. Only Konan had managed to avoid the attacks, using her paper wings to take to the air and out of their range.
Five minutes later Yujin stopped his attack and looked around the now destroyed area that seemed like it was hit by a tornado. His eyes locked onto some moving rubble, which revealed a slightly bruised Kisame. Focusing on him first Yujin lunged at the swordsman, surprising Kisame who had just gotten out of the rubble. "Ho!" Yujin exclaimed as his right hand turned into four large talons with razor sharp blades sticking out.
"Time to make some sushi!" Yujin declared as he lunged at Kisame. The Akatsuki swordsman just raised Samehada in time to block Yujin's first strike. But soon Yujin began to attack more pushing Kisame back. While the talon blades weren't damaging Samehada, Kisame could tell that if even one of them struck his flesh, it could get very messy for the ex-Seven Swordsman of the Mist.
Fortunately he was given a break when out of nowhere a fireball appeared and struck Yujin on the left side, sending him flying away from Kisame. Said person looked up and noticed Itachi landing beside him. "Where have you been? Having family issues with your brother again?" Kisame asked as he rested his sword on his shoulder.
"Hn" Was all Itachi said before taking a look around. "How's it going so far here?" The Uchiha asked his partner.
"Hard to say." Kisame said casually, but his eyes were keeping an eye out for any surprise attacks. "Deidara crashed sometime ago by the fellow you just burned. Our leader is taking on the jinchuuriki along with taking on Sharingan Kakashi, Jiraiya, Yondaime Hokage and Nidaime Hokage, summoned by Orochimaru. Plus he summoned the Sandaime Hokage, the Shodaime Hokage and Madara, the last two taking on and you wouldn't believe it, Sadahiko Uzumaki. I have no idea where Tobi or Zetsu are but Konan-san is still up in the air."
If Itachi was fazed by the fact that all four past Hokages had been summon, along with Madara and that the legendary Sadahiko Uzumaki was alive, his face did not show it. "I see" Was all he said.
"You could at least show some surprise." Kisame deadpanned.
Before Itachi could retort another voice spoke up. "You know the thing about my skin is that I don't get burn easily. Which means no sunburns!"
Coming out of the burning hole in a building, was an unharmed Yujin, his arms back to normal. The green-skin man casually walked out and faced the two Akatsuki members. Yujin blinked when he noticed Itachi. "Oh hello there. Were you the one who fired that fireball at me? That wasn't very nice you know." Yujin stated.
"My apologies but I didn't want you to slice my partner into pieces." Itachi replied politely as he activated his Mangekyo Sharingan. His plan to cast a Genjutsu on Yujin failed when said person suddenly appeared beside him and Kisame, his right arm raised and crossing over his chest.
"Sorry but Genjutsus don't work on me." Yujin said as he swiped his arm outwards. "Choken Soin! (Longsword Sweep)" He said as his arm released a strong slash of pressure from the swing. Itachi and Kisame just barely dodged the slash, watching as it instead cut a building behind them in two. The top of the building came down upon the two and forced them to dodge falling debris while Yujin merely watched from his spot.
"Gatsuga!" Yujin heard as he moved out of the way, just as a spinning projectile struck where he once stood. Not wasting time Kiba and Akamaru jumped out of the man-made hole and lunged at Yujin, engaging him in taijutsu. However Yujin was easily parrying their punches and kicks, and in Akamaru's case, bites, and seemed rather bored too. However his instincts went up as he quickly raised his left arm and blocked a sword strike from Sasuke from behind.
Grabbing the blade, Yujin threw Sasuke at Kiba and Akamaru, sending all three tumbling backwards. Yujin was about to attack when suddenly he noticed a swarm of bugs above him. Before he could react the bugs did a dive and covered Yujin's upper body. Appearing beside a tangle pile of shinobi was Shino, his arms raised.
"My apologies for waiting." Shino drone. "But I had to wait until he was distracted. Why you ask? Because our opponent has good senses and it would be difficult for me since my techniques work better in stealth attacks. However now my kikaichu will drain him of his chakra and incapacitate him."
However just as Shino finished that sentence, the bugs covering Yujin suddenly dispersed. A shocked Shino, along with Sasuke and Kiba, saw Yujin standing before them, looking perfectly fine. The kikaichu around him were moving about, making what sounded like a nervous buzzing noise. "Sorry but you're bugs won't be able to consume my chakra Aburame-san. I already know how to repel them." Yujin commented.
Shino's eyebrows rose in surprise. "You know how to repel my kikaichu?" He asked, curiosity in his voice.
"I know many things." Yujin said neutrally, arms crossed.
"Indeed" Shino replied
"Quite"
"Yes"
"Hmm"
"Well perhaps we should exchange monosyllabic variables of knowledge at a later time." Shino suggested
"Huh" Yujin commented
"Hmm"
"Yes"
Sasuke and Kiba sweat dropped at this odd but calm conversation between the two. Neither of them knew what to make of this right now.
(Orochimaru)
During the whole battle, the Snake Sannin had figured that it would be simpler to find a good vantage point to watch what was happening. Part of the reason was to avoid unnecessary combat. Another was that he was curious of seeing the power of the legendary Sadahiko Uzumaki, as well as the blade Reijin Jinryu, against two more legends, said legends being Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha. The last one was that in the event Sasuke should appear, Orochimaru would take the initiative and claim the young Uchiha's body for his own. Even if he didn't get the other goods he wanted, at least he would finally get the Sharingan. Plus he got to watch as his sensei fought against his own son, something that brought joy to the Sannin. A side note was that Orochimaru saw this as a good chance to inspect the center of the city, to see the seal Sadahiko created to hold Hachiro Kishin.
However his mood began to worsen at several new arrivals. The first was that Yujin character, who easily took down Jugo and later down took down the clay bomber, the Konoha Anbu and another Konoha Kunoichi. But what really infuriated Orochimaru was that joining Yujin was his former subordinate Guren. The Sannin had thought she had died during the mission to capture the Three-Tails, along with the would-be-host, the child Yukimaru. Instead here she was, on the opposite side and apparently improved her skills by the looks of it. Orochimaru could tolerate failure to an extent, but he detested traitors above all else.
Things got worse when Orochimaru sensed the Kyuubi's chakra. And seeing how there were no explosions or rampaging jinchuuriki, he could only assume that the Uzumaki brat had fully mastered his bijuu. It was not something Orochimaru calculated and it made him worry that Naruto might actually defeat Pain.
But Orochimaru managed to calm himself as a sinister idea came to mind. 'Whether or not she can actually restrain the Kyuubi's chakra now that its stabilized is unknown. But I am 100% certain that her presence will allow me to deal the brat a killing blow." Orochimaru thought as he slammed his hands on the solid ground. A few seconds later a coffin rose up before the man, followed by the lid falling down to the ground with a thud.
Grinning maliciously as the coffin's occupant walked out, Orochimaru hissed, "Well are you ready to see your son all grown up…Kushina-chan?"
