บท 72: Ping'er's Hopes and Dreams

Not far from the perimeters of the village, a silly rabbit-shifter was giving a full blown demonstration to a very curious Ping'er, on how to properly paddle clothing when washing. It is a very serious task and one could never be too careful when applying the wooden stick to the fabric.

"And you smack, and you smack, and you smack!" Tuzi explained, while exhibiting to Ping'er how to use the wooden paddle properly against the fabric. "But remember not to smack it too hard. Otherwise, you will have big holes in the middle of your clothes. Then you won't be able to wear them anymore."

Deeply entranced while observing Tuzi's unique technique, Ping'er found herself with some questions arising from this process. "Zhuyi, you are hitting the clothing so carefully. It will take you the whole night to finish washing this basket of clothes. How hard would you have to paddle the fabric, to make holes? That seems quite impossible."
