บท 85: Chapter 84: Magic: The Great Tsunami, Raven Is No Longer a Mutant

"How can man stand against God?" Ethan Hayes muttered as he rushed through the waters, carrying the unconscious Jessica Jones back to New York. The battle he had just fought still played in his mind.

Using his water-control magic at sea was like having the power of a god. The aircraft carrier battle group that had been sent against him was nothing more than toys, utterly incapable of withstanding his magic. He hadn't even given them a chance to fight back—his control of the water had rendered them helpless.

Upon returning to his villa on Long Island, Ethan carefully laid Jessica down and began to tend to her injuries. He performed his Dragon Elephant Prajna Kung Fu, using his internal energy to heal her body. It was a process that was slow but effective, and far superior to any modern medicine.

Jessica's superhuman abilities helped her heal faster than a regular person, but Ethan's energy work accelerated the process further. After an hour, he withdrew his energy, sweat dripping from his forehead. "She'll recover, but she needs to rest for a week."

He left her side, heading into the ocean to catch fresh fish, which he prepared and placed on her bedside. He wasn't done yet. His eyes burned with determination as he turned toward the San Diego Naval Base.

Diving back into the sea, Ethan used his water-magic to travel swiftly. His destination: the largest naval port on the West Coast, the San Diego Naval Base. It was home to countless ships and submarines, including some of the most advanced nuclear-powered vessels in the U.S. Navy.

Standing at the edge of the base, Ethan began to channel his water control magic. His body was aglow with white light, his magic surging through him as he summoned the ocean's full force. A tsunami began to form behind him—thirty feet tall and growing rapidly.

At the base, alarms blared as soldiers noticed the receding water. Panic set in as they realized what was coming. The massive wave Ethan had created rushed toward them, swallowing the port in seconds. Ships, submarines, and soldiers were swept away, helpless against the unstoppable force of nature. The tsunami flattened everything in its path.

Ethan watched as the base was destroyed in mere minutes. He didn't revel in the destruction but felt a deep sense of satisfaction. "Let the world know what happens when they challenge me," he muttered.

As the wave receded and the destruction settled, Ethan pulled away from the scene, his work done. Those who survived floated aimlessly in the ocean, waiting for rescue.

With his desire points increasing significantly from the destruction, Ethan's tally hit a new milestone: 450 million desire points, adding to his already formidable resources.

He returned to Long Island, where Jessica was now awake. She looked at him with tired eyes, still shaken from their earlier battle. "I thought you were dead," she whispered.

Ethan wrapped her in his arms, comforting her. "I'm fine. They never stood a chance."

Jessica nodded, her strength slowly returning. "What now?"

"Now, it's over. They won't come after us again," Ethan replied confidently.

At that moment, his phone rang. The voice on the other end was old and familiar—General Ross.

"You devil! What have you done?" General Ross's voice was filled with frustration and defeat.

"I warned you not to cross me," Ethan said calmly. "The punishment you faced today was just the beginning."

"Enough! We want you to remain a law-abiding citizen of New York," Ross practically pleaded.

"Law-abiding?" Ethan laughed. "I don't follow your laws, General."

General Ross sighed heavily. "You've made your point. We won't challenge you again."

"Good. Remember, I'm not your enemy unless you make me one," Ethan warned, before hanging up the phone.

Jessica looked at him with newfound admiration. "You've changed so much since we met. You're not just protecting yourself anymore, are you?"

Ethan smiled at her. "No. I'm protecting everything I care about."

Later that evening, Ethan escorted Jessica back to Manhattan, where he gave her the keys to a new apartment. "Your old place is gone, but this is for you," he said, handing her the keys to a beautifully renovated loft.

Jessica kissed him softly on the cheek. "Thank you."

As she settled into her new home, Ethan returned to his villa. New York was quiet, but across the country, the nation mourned the loss of life from the San Diego naval base disaster. Ethan's name had become a forbidden topic, whispered only in fear by those who knew the truth.

Meanwhile, in the shadows of the world, Magneto stood still, contemplating the power he had felt emanating from the tsunami. He had battled Ethan once, and the memory still haunted him. His generals had suffered, and even Pyro had barely survived.

But Magneto's attention was elsewhere now. He had learned of a powerful Mutant being transported to Worthing Labs, and he planned to intercept the convoy.

The night was quiet as a line of trucks rolled down a deserted road, guarded by armed men. Magneto stepped into the path of the convoy, his cape billowing in the wind. With a wave of his hand, the trucks were ripped apart, and the guards were thrown aside.

Inside one of the trucks, Mystique emerged, her blue skin shining under the moonlight. She approached Magneto with urgency. "The child they're transporting can suppress Mutant powers. His name is Jimmy."

Magneto nodded. "Good work, Raven."

As they freed more Mutants from the convoy, Magneto's forces grew stronger. But during the chaos, something terrible happened—Mystique was shot with a special dart, and her body began to change. Her blue skin faded, turning human.

"Raven!" Magneto shouted.

Mystique collapsed, her powers gone. She had become human. Pyro and the others stood by, unsure of what to do.

"I'm sorry," Magneto said coldly. "You're no longer one of us."

Without another word, Magneto and his army left Mystique behind, her former allies abandoning her in her most vulnerable state.

As Raven stood alone in the darkness, she reached for her phone, her hands trembling. She dialed Ethan's number, her heart heavy with despair.

"Ethan… it's me, Raven."

"Raven, what's wrong?" Ethan's voice was filled with concern.

"I'm human now," she whispered, the weight of the truth too much to bear.

"You've always been human," Ethan said gently. "You're just different."

Raven's tears fell silently as Ethan continued. "Where are you? I'll send someone to get you."

She gave him her location, and Ethan called his contact in Los Angeles. Soon, Raven was on her way back to New York, where Ethan waited, ready to welcome her into a new chapter of her life.
