บท 273: Chapter 273: Departure To Indigo Plateau

Raging fire burned on the ground, and the three crystals were within the flames. Under the influence of the golden flame, the three crystals continued to shrink in size, as if they were being vaporized.

A peculiar energy continuously gushed out from the crystal, but under the continuous burning of the flame, it was burned out before it could escape the range of the flame.

Professor Oak and the others didn't notice this, but Ash did. He looked at the people around him, found that they didn't seem to see it, and felt a little confused.

This strange energy was very similar to the feeling the giant Gengar gave him yesterday. Perhaps it was the energy transformed from the imprisoned Pokémon?

"It's so powerful. This flame is indeed a move involving Laws..." Witnessing the Golden Flame Cannon again at such close range, Professor Oak gleaned more information.

There was no doubt that the Golden Flame Cannon contained Law related to fire. Although the true origin of the power was unknown, judging from the sun-like feeling it gave, Professor Oak felt it might be associated with the sun.

Regarding summon thunder, although Professor Oak also wanted to know more, he didn't have the opportunity now and could only give up with regret.

White and her archaeological team stayed in Pallet Town for a few days to rest and then left, embarking on a journey to pursue the remains of the Pokémoya civilization.

Unlike before, this time, White had only one goal: to find and destroy any remaining crystals.

Twenty days had passed, and it was less than a week until the Indigo Plateau Conference.

"Ash, have you packed your things? Don't wait until tomorrow when you're in a hurry to find out that you still have something to take away!" Delia reminded Ash at the door of his room.

"It's been packed..." Ash said helplessly. His mother always seemed to treat him like a child.

"I will cheer you on at home. Don't worry too much about your ranking, as long as you try your best." Delia was worried that Ash was under too much pressure.

"Don't worry, Mom, it's no problem!" Ash gave Delia a thumbs up. He believed that with his current strength, even if he couldn't win the Indigo Plateau Conference championship, he could at least reach the semi-finals.

"Then have a good rest and get up early tomorrow." Delia seemed to have more to say but didn't voice it. She knew that no matter how much she said, she wouldn't be able to ease his anxiety.

Watching Delia leave, Ash sighed slightly. He knew Delia was worried about him.

The next morning, Ash didn't do his usual morning exercises. Instead, before Delia even woke up, he went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

When Delia woke up and wanted to prepare breakfast for Ash and Misty, she found food already on the table. She looked at Ash working hard in the kitchen and couldn't help but smile.

"Good morning, Mom, wait a minute; there are still two eggs left to fry!" Ash looked back at Delia and asked her to sit down and rest while he continued making breakfast.

After a while, Misty also came downstairs. Seeing Ash preparing breakfast and Delia sitting at the dining table, her face turned red, and she whispered hello to Delia. She wanted to help Ash in the kitchen.

But Delia stopped Misty, asking her to sit beside her, and then started chatting with her. Most of the conversation revolved around asking Misty to take good care of Ash.

Although young, Misty understood what Delia meant. Delia seemed to regard her as her future daughter-in-law, which made Misty both happy and shy.

After breakfast, while Mr. Mime was putting away the dishes, the doorbell rang. Brock had also returned from Professor Oak's Laboratory and was prepared to go to Indigo Plateau with Ash.

"Then... let's go, Mom." Standing at the door, Ash put on his backpack and said goodbye to Delia with some reluctance.

"Well, all the way, Tailwind..." Compared to the past, Delia was still worried about Ash, but she didn't say it out loud because this time, Ash wasn't alone; Brock and Misty were with him.

"Auntie, I will take good care of Ash. We will come back after the Indigo Plateau Conference is over," Misty whispered beside Delia.

"Then it's up to you, Ash." Delia smiled softly and nodded slightly to Misty.

"Goodbye, Mom!" Ash and Misty said goodbye to Delia and turned to leave. Delia and Mr. Mime stood there, waving and watching Ash, Misty, and Brock depart.

"You have to work hard, Ash..." After a moment, when she could no longer see them, Delia stopped waving and spoke with a hint of melancholy.

Mr. Mime sensed Delia's reluctance but didn't know how to comfort her. He could only stay by her side.

"Thank you, Mr. Mime." Delia looked at Mr. Mime beside her and thanked him with a gentle smile. It was because of Mr. Mime that she didn't feel so lonely in the house.

"Mime!" Mr. Mime smiled so hard that his eyes narrowed into a straight line.

Indigo Plateau is located in the western plateau region of the Kanto region and is connected to the Mt. Silver area of the Johto region. The headquarters of the Kanto League is located on Indigo Plateau, not far from the Indigo Plateau Conference.

Ash and his friends first arrived in Viridian City, then traveled west.

After several days of journeying, Ash and his friends were finally nearing the Indigo Plateau Conference, with less than half a day's journey remaining. A short distance away, they would reach the player village.

"To be honest, I'm really excited now." As he got closer to the player village, Ash felt increasingly nervous. The Indigo Plateau Conference, the Kanto League competition—what kind of challenges would he face? Ash was filled with anticipation.

"After all, it's my first time participating in the League competition, so it's normal to be nervous," Brock said, looking at the map to make sure they were on the right track.

"I'm a little nervous too..." Misty admitted, feeling inexplicably nervous even though she wasn't participating in the competition. It was as if she were competing herself.

"By the way, there will be an opening ceremony in the afternoon, so we need to speed up. We'll be in trouble if we miss the registration time," Brock reminded them.

The registration deadline was one hour before the opening ceremony, leaving them with less than three hours.
