บท 83: Chapter 83 : Chunin Exam Finals 1
The talk with Sasuke was short, Shika didn't want to drag the conversation anyway, part of the reason being that there he wanted to give some time to Sasuke to think what he told him.
Overloading his brain with info about what might have happened was pointless, rather he took Sasuke's help, drove him away from the defection path and more than anything targeted people like Akatsuki and Danzo through Sasuke's connection with Itachi and Itachi's connection to the two mentions before.
How to show him this connection wasn't hard either, but Shika knew that he had to wait, he needed to nail the time just right.
Training under Jiraiya kept on going, Compared to Naruto's training, his own training was pretty boring, at least his clones were working hard in the background.
Jiraiya wasn't that good of a teacher, at least not in the conventional sense. However, whatever he taught he made sure that the person learned completely, maybe this was something he inherited from his own childhood, after all, he himself wasn't the sharpest of the students in his time.
Under him Shika only learned Fuinjutsu, it he learned that one thing to the extreme, way past the point of just learning how not to seal the chakra of a Jinchuriki.
Shika knew that if he just mastered what he learned from Jiraiya completely in the upcoming years, then he himself could become a Fuinjutsu Master.
As time passed finally the finals were upon them. Shika long wanted to meet with Hinata at this time but after her fight with Neji, she was taken by her father to give training for the finals.
Shika just wanted to curse that Hyuga bastard right now, but he himself knew that Hinata needed that exposure to the clan, after all, without connection how was she gonna remove that cage bird seal.
Going all out to learn sealing from Jiraiya also for this reason, though sealing was useful but not that much in fights, Shika only put so much effort because he wanted to help Hinata.
He knew that Hinata alone couldn't remove that cage bird seal, even if she? What about those who already have the cage bird seal applied to them. What about the branch family.
Shika wanted to either remove that seal or he wanted to seal the existing cage bird seal to the point that at least the main family of Hyuga couldn't use that seal to bully the branch family.
After all, Shika knew that the main family would never accept the removal of the cage birth, Hinata might be able to do that in the cannon considering Naruto because Hokage but that won't happen this time.
Shika didn't even want to let that war happen which put Naruto's status high. This means that Naruto's chances to become Hokage this time around ain't that much, maybe through both Tsunade's and Kakashi's connection but that is a stretch.
In this case, Shika knew that Hinata would need support from the branch family, but that wouldn't work if the main family held such an advantage against the branch family.
Sigh.
Shika thinking about this can't help but sigh indeed there was much for him to do, though he himself planned to get much much stronger but that will take time yes power is the cornerstone of every change but doesn't mean that power alone was enough to bring the change, at least not the one without much bloodshed.

After a long month of training, finally, it was time for the Chunin exam finals. Shika was ready, he had prepared much and planned everything he needed to do by now.
He woke up, got something light to eat and finally got ready to go to the tournament ground.
As he reached the place, he saw many civilians and shinobi there alike, ready to watch the finals, there were not many festivals in this world, so the Chunin exams were the best way to relax for families and even shinobi.
Shika though didn't care too much about this, he looked around and directly spotted two people he wanted to talk to right now.
That was namely Hinata and Sasuke. In this last month, he wanted to didn't get to talk with anyone, not even these two.
Kurenai, her team… even his own cousin, he was soo busy that he didn't get any time to interact with them.
The first match was between Hinata and Naruto. A very strange match honestly, he wasn't sure what to say about this match.
Can Hinata really fight against Naruto, if yes then can she win? Too many questions.
The only way to find out what she is thinking is to go and talk with her, the only problem that right now her father is beside her.
"Hinata, how are you ?" Shika called out, not actually planning to go out there and talk with her when she was beside her father, not like he was afraid more but like he didn't want to give anything to Hizashi against Hinata when the time came.
Hinata who was mostly devoid of many emotions right now heard this and almost immediately brightened up. She snapped her head at the person who called her and the next second he was already running towards Shika. Not giving her father any face.
'Ah… She sure has gotten bold. Good good, winning against Neji did wonder to her confidence…' Shika smiled seeing this.
"Shika Kun." Hinata smiled brightly as she came near Shika. The smile was almost blinding.
"Ah, someone is looking happy, did the clan increase your food budget or what ?" Shika asked with a little smirk on his face, making Hinata only slightly blush and then she rather pouted at Shika faking that she was angry.
The girl surely has changed.
"No. Shika Kun still has to treat me, I hope you will…" Hinata replied with a huff but then smiled. That smile was pretty.
The girl seems really happy right now.
"Yeah don't worry, I still have yet to give you the party you deserved for beating that cousin of yours. How about it, after this exam we both go to a barbecue, hell bring your entire team, my treat" Shika replied, he too didn't lack funds right now, so why now.
"Sure, but that is too much for Shika Kun. I can't ask you that much…" Hinata replied a little hesitant. Shika was about to say that it was fine but before that, she spoke.
"Just treat me, I alone will cost too much." Hinata with a little blush on her face.
Making Shika wonder if was she still holding back in her food intake all this time after he provided funds. But there was a feeling that she just wanted to eat alone with him, not gonna lie… Shika was the same, can now be thinking whether his idea of Hinata still liking Naruto was right?
