บท 2: Chapter 2 : Academy
After realizing just how short time I have left to re-master all three basic academy jutsu, I can't possibly waste any more time. I just ran to my house or Shika's house that is.
It's honestly very annoying acting like I am someone else. Good thing that I don't have to interact with someone right now. For today, just focus on mastering the basic jutsu.
Thanks to Shika's memories, I was able to find his place, no surprise that it was in the Nara land. Nara Shika is an orphan of the Nara clan. He lived a good life still now thanks to his parent's connection to the current head of the Nara clan.
The night of the Nine Tails Rampage, both of his parents died. Since then the entire Nara clan has raised him, kind of.
The owner of this body pretty much grew up beside Shikamaru until he was 10 years old. After that Shikaku Nara, now my uncle, arranged a place for him. That too was only because the main owner asked him to.
After around 10 minutes of walking, I was in Nara land, from then on finding Shika's place wasn't hard. It was a small apartment on one of the two-story buildings in the Nara place.
The hallway of the building was old and even needed repairs, but it was maintained well. Opening the door, I saw nothing particularly eye-catching inside.
One decent size room which can be said as a hall but that was all there was. No extra room, but there was though separate bathroom and kitchen, something which I was glad of.
That one big room pretty much contains almost everything. There was no bed, Shika used Futon as many people do in this place, anime at least in this regard was wrong.
No study table either, though I did see a small table on the side, where many books were littered. Definitely a traditional Japanese-style home. Nothing modern or fancy but practical. And though I respect that but I still rather have some modern touch in this place, but that is all after I get some money to spend.
Shika Nara, just like any other orphan of the village gets a subsidiary. Not wanting to freeload on his uncle and aunt, he two years ago decided to move out of their place.
Thanks to his uncle he got a cheap place in the Nara clan, cheap enough that his subsidiary was just enough to pay the rent and take enough money left to feed him. Though nothing more.
But that was fine by me. I too rather live alone than to freeload on people whom I barely know. And seeing that I will soon be a Genin, I can get a better place for myself.
Sighing, I move toward the kitchen. A modest size place and it was pretty clean, just like the entire place. The previous owner sure was good at cleaning. Seeing a Refrigerator there my eyes lid up. I knew that he had one but still. Opening it up I found enough food that can last me tonight.
'More than enough.'
I quickly change the clothes to something more comfortable before taking out last night's leftovers to fill my raging belly. I have to say those Japanese dishes are good.
Then directly to the matter at hand. The so-called system. Though I can waste another week at just exploring this Ninja village but I rather focus on becoming a Ninja first. It's not just that I will fail tomorrow if I'm unable to perform the three Jutsu but even more than that, I might not get the system's starting package, which I can't have it.
That might be the only thing which can save me from what is about to come into his crazy world.
'Now that I remember correctly, Transformation, Clone and replacement are the Jutsu all the students in the Academy learn. There is nothing else besides that. And if I go strictly anime knowledge then only jutsu which was asked for passing was clone jutsu, the one which Naruto failed in.
Hmm…
The previous owner was able to do all three but I am not sure whether I can or not. Guess I have to try.'
Making a simple Ram sign, something used to amplify the chakra fusion by combining both spiritual and physical energies, I concentrated.
Many don't even have to make this sign but this is my first time, it's always better to start from the very beginning.
I at first thought that it would be hard for me but it wasn't, it was almost like the muscle memories from the previous owner came to rescue and I could feel a little warm feeling in my gut.
I remember that the gut is the place where the Chakra generate so that warm feeling has to be chakra.
'Good, now let's do the academic three jutsu.' I smiled as the excitement of being able to do real Jutsu was something else.
Maybe soon I can learn techniques like Rasengan or fireball. Maybe?

Next Day
Sunlight fell right at my face, disturbing my sleep, which I obviously didn't have enough. Unfortunately, I was only able to master 2 out of 3 techniques in one day. I was sure that if only I had one more day then I could have done with the last one as well but alas, life is unfair.
It was harder than I anticipated to remaster that jutsu, even with the original memories it was hard to mould the chakra in a specific way to do jutsu. It's honestly harder to do jutsu than I thought.
I started with the one which most likely to come in the exam, that being clone jutsu which I mastered, followed by transformation. But that two jutsu alone took almost the entire time I had on my hand.
I slept for less than 4 hours and now I was in an extremely irritated mood. The only good thing which I can say in this besides I can use jutsu is that the Jutsu I currently have most likely will be enough.
We recently just had a jutsu test in which the previous Shika used replacement so Iruka shouldn't ask for us to reperform it again. I just hope so.
I quickly got up, didn't have much time to prepare for breakfast, kind of knew it after failing on clone jutsu for more than 2 hours straight, I knew what would be the outcome by today morning. I just take out some time to prepare food in advance.
Hell, I would have never slept and kept on training but I didn't have enough chakra left at that time. Had to sleep to restock some chakra to perform today.
After eating I ran out to Academy.
It was a beautiful day, really pretty and more than anything there was nothing like pollution in this world, the air was as fresh as it could get. Just lovely, but I just didn't have time to admire the beauty of the place and ran towards the Academy like my life depended on it.
Again it was a 10-minute solid walk from my place to the academy but on running, I could reach the place in half the time.
I was running a little late so I used some shortcuts I found in Shika's memories.
Upon getting to the academy. I just simply sneaked in and sat down on my place, not wanting to attract any attention even now.
Only upon settling down that I realized that I was more late than I thought. Less than 1 minute of me entering the class that Iruka entered.
Almost everyone was there, well everyone except one orange Ninja.
Surprisingly even here they have roll call. Interesting right.
"Sakura Haruno"
"Here."
"Sasuke Uchiha"
"Present."
"Shiakamaru Nara"
…
"Wake him up"
"Hai."
"Shika Nara."
"Here Iruka Sensei."
"Shino Aburama."
"Here."
.
.
.
"Naruto ?"
...
"Naruto ?" .
Sigh.
Just when Iruka was about to move on, the door of the class open with a boom.
"Uzumaki Naruto, Present… Dattebaiyo."
