บท 25: Udaeus and swords from Tsubaki Collbrande
Everything was ready, I prepared the materials for a second magic circle, the items to make them into the fluid catalyst, and I'll be able to get a better crystal for the spell later. Putting everything into my backpack, that I put an expansion spell on, I wanted it to hold more than my old backpack, so I used another Amphisbaena crystal.
I bought a bed and bedding, a desk and chair, some spare clothes, pajamas, clothes for the Xenos, paper for research, soap and shampoo, a spare short sword, a custom short sword made from Minotaur horn as a spare for the spare, 300 arrows, and 2 years of dried meats and preserved foods, oh and seasonings.
Everything went into the backpack, it's heavy, very heavy, I think I've gone overboard. Well, after I get to the Xenos, I won't need to worry about a lot of the stuff, they're for me while I live with them. After everything was set, I put the backpack on, I swear, that was the heaviest squat in my life.
Picking up my old backpack and my bow, I head to the dungeon, as I'm descending, I happen to see Little Ryuu. She seems to be working hard with her familia, I want to go say hi but, they seem busy so I better not. With that passing thought, I quickly descend down, my backpack will crush me with revenge.
Arriving at the Xenos, I set my stuff aside and squat down, as I do the backpack nearly killed me, truly the hardest fight of my life. Taking it off, I start taking stuff out, the Xenos were gobsmacked at everything I took out, I don't know if it was the stuff itself, or the fact that they came out of my backpack.
Once I finished everything, we all talked for a bit, after everything was ready, I go down to the 37th floor, I researched about the next monster rex. It would seem that, if want to make the next waypoint, I'll need a better crystal, the udaeus should be enough, if not, I'll have to use 2 monster rex crystals.
After 2 days of searching, I'm starting to worry that Udaeus was already killed. As I'm heading to the colosseum for crystals, the hallway starts rumblings and cracking, a few seconds later, a big black skeleton with no legs came out of the ground.
A wild Udaeus appeared, a thought crossed my mind as I saw it... Who's that Pokémon!... I had no idea where that came from, I can barely remember my past. While I was thinking, Udaeus started punching at me, jumping backwards out of the way, spikes started coming from the ground.
Once I saw this, I used Mana Steps, jumping backwards to my right, I shoot arrows at it's face. As it blocks some of the arrows with its hand, I aim for it's right shoulder, compressing 2,000 mana in an arrow, I release it, Udaeus uses it's right hand to block the arrow.
Clicking my tongue, I prepare another arrow, compressing 3,000 mana, I aim for it's left shoulder, as I release the arrow I start doing small bunny hops. Soon I'm high enough that the spikes won't reach me, Udaeus used what's left of it's right hand to block the second arrow.
Getting into a better stance, I go to shoot another arrow when, Udaeus started doing something, soon, a sword comes from the ground in front of it. Udaeus grabs the sword and starts swinging it at me, as I dodge the sword I keep shooting arrows, after the 4th swing of it's sword, I grab my short sword and use Physical Enhancement to parry it's 5th swing.
As it's sword connects with mine, it goes careening down and breaks on the floor, seeing this, I swiftly switch my short sword into a reverse grip. Drawing an arrow back I compress 6,000 mana into it, aiming for Udaeus's head I release it.
Drawing another arrow I compress 5,000 mana into it, releasing the arrow as Udaeus blocks with it's left hand, and the first arrow blows up it's hand. The second arrow passes through the smoke and hits Udaeus in the head, as it's falling back, I rushed towards it, as I reach Udaeus's crystal, I stab my short sword into it.
As I'm collecting the crystal, I see a chunk of the sword Udaeus used, once I was done shoving the crystal into my old backpack, I put the chunk into my backpack. After everything was done, I head back to the 27th floor, after arriving I start preparing for the magic circle engraving.
The whole process was faster the second time, I was still very meticulous about it, but I was able to get it done in less time. After everything was done, I meditated for full mana. Bringing Udaeus's crystal over, I start the chant, this time I didn't pass out, and only used 1/3 of my mana.
After I was done, I went to my bed ready to sleep but, Fear was on the bed, getting into the bed I cuddle up to her, and go to sleep. Once I woke up, I got ready to try the teleportation, going over to the magic circle, I speak the chant, as I do I feel my mana quickly and in large quantity, drain from my body.
Appearing in the teleportation room, I look at my mana, I use 50,000 mana casting it once, the fact I can use it at all is a miracle. Heading inside, I go to mother's office and knock on the door, "Come in" walking into the office I say, "Hello mother, I just used my teleportation spell, it works as intended, but the mana usage is terrible."
"Hello sweetie, I'm glad it worked, now you have no reason to not come back every week." "Guh, yes mother, now, I'm going to go do some things, but before I do can you update my falna." "Yes sweetie."

And with that, I head to Hephaestus's workshop, once here I ask to meet their captain for a commission. After waiting a while, their captain meets with me, "Hello I'm Tsubaki Collbrande, I heard you want to commission something from me."
"Hello I'm Sara Hunter, and yes I want you to make a short sword and a longsword, from this material." Reaching down into my backpack, that I had taken off, I pull out this big chunk from Udaeus's sword. "What! Not only the bag but the material! What even is this!"
"Ahh! Please! Don't say anything about the backpack!" "And the material came from Udaeus's sword!" "Udaeus has a sword!" "Yes, he was swinging it around!" Huff Huff Huff "Why are we yelling?" "Because I've never seen or heard about Udaeus having a sword."
"Neither did I, I just went and fought Udaeus." "Explain the fight to me." I start explaining how the fight went when. "Wait! You fought it Alone!" "Well yeah, I'm a solo adventurer?" "I've never heard of anyone fighting Udaeus alone!" "Oh... Right, maybe it's sword only comes out in a solo fight?"
"What you've done is baffling, but I will make you the weapons you asked for." "Alright coolbeans! Now, about the short sword, I want it to be the same size as this one." I hand her my short sword. "The short sword is the more important one so, as long as it's the same size, the longsword, you can make it in whatever way you're best at."
"Alright, i'll get working right away!" "You can take your time, I'll be back next week." "Alright I'm going to go, see you later Tsubaki." Tsubaki was gone by the time I said that, shaking my head in amusement I turn around and leave.
And with that, I head down into the dungeon, after living with the Xenos for a week, I head back to Tsubaki. "Hello Tsubaki, how was things, did you have fun?" "Hello Sara, yes it's always fun working with new material!" "So how'd they turn out?" "See for yourself."
Walking over to a table, I see a short sword and a katana, they look amazing. "Wow! They look great!" "Just wait till you use them! They're my best works!" "Well, I'll go use them now!" After we talked about the price, I went into the dungeon, to try my new swords.
Arriving on the 37th floor, I head straight to the colosseum, after getting to the center, I set my old backpack to the side, drawing the katana I undo my Stealth. As monsters start charging at me, I cut them to peices, after 2 days I switch to the short sword, after 4 more days, I return to the surface with my old backpack full of crystals.
I bring the bag to rose and ask to talk in private, "Rose, I made something kind of crazy, and I want your help exchanging the crystals." "What have you done now sara?" "Well, I made a magic backpack that holds more than it should." "Damnit sara! Why are you always doing something crazy!"
"I can't help it, I just focus so much on achieving my goal that, I lose sight of everything else." "Fine, now let's go exchange your crystals." "Oh! I should hold the backpack, it holds a lot but, I didn't think about the weight of the items in it..." "So you're saying that it still weighs a lot?" "Yeah..."
After we exchanged the crystals, I managed to get 412 million valis, putting it all into my old backpack, I head over to Tsubaki. Apon arriving, I greet Tsubaki and set down my old backpack, "Hello Tsubaki, I'm here with the money." "Hello Sara, how were they?"
"Amazing, better than I hoped for." "That's great! I'm glad you like them!" "Well, I have some things to take care of, so I have to run, I'll see you later Tsubaki." "See you later sara." After leaving, I start heading home, and in my haste, I forgot my old backpack that has magic on it.
