บท 41: Future[4]

After spending the night with Bulma, Vegeta went directly to do his own things, taking Trunks and Gohan with him to that place.

In a faraway location, two beings observed what would be perceived as the sky in their world. Normal people would assume they were looking at nothing, but in fact, they could watch the entire universe from there.

"He's not making his move so soon, right?" A short, pale man with a mohawk said to another, taller man beside him.

"Yes, the moment he makes his move, we will be able to see it," replied the taller man with white hair and a stern face. He would be perceived as someone strict.

While they were musing about a growing problem, they could feel ripples in space and sensed someone arriving on their planet.

Both were surprised beyond disbelief, as this place was sacred and impossible to reach by normal means.

"...Someone is here, Kibito," the short one alerted his guard, Kibito, of a possible danger.

"Who dares step on this sacred land unauthorized?" Kibito, the taller one, raised his power in a fit of anger. This place was off-limits to anyone, and even divine beings of low status had no right to set foot there.

"Calm down, Kibito. Let's go take a look."

"...Yes, my lord."

They both went to the possible place where the intruders were...

Both Trunks and Gohan were speechless at the sheer beauty of this place. It was as if creation itself started from here and was shared around it.

Small rivers were scattered everywhere, with mountains and an open field. The air was as clean as possible, with unidentified animal sounds.

While looking around, something caught their attention.

"...That's a sword?" Gohan was the first to pick it up, looking at it with interest. What would a sword like that be doing here?

"Try to pick it up, Gohan," Vegeta said, nodding his head in the direction of the sword. Gohan was a bit confused but also nodded his head and tried to pick it up. Vegeta didn't have all the details about how Gohan unlocked his power training here. He only knew a few things about the sword and the ritual. And of course, about the pervert geezer inside the sword.

Soon enough, they could see Gohan mustering all his strength to lift the sword but being unable to move it even a little bit.

"Guuuhhhhh! I-It's don't move an inch!" Gohan let it go and started to breathe on his sore hand. He didn't transform into a Super Saiyan, but even if he did, he wouldn't be able to take it.

The fact was that this Gohan was ages behind his child counterpart, only boasting a base power of 4 million.

"...Can I try it?" Trunks pointed to himself, asking his father for permission. Vegeta agreed, and the boy went ahead with it.

But just as he was about to do it, a strong voice stopped him in his tracks.

"Stop right there! Take your hands off this sacred sword!" Kibito was the one doing the screaming while running at full speed toward the spot.

Vegeta turned around to look at them, fixing his gaze on the short one. It was him that they needed. Being civil here might be a good choice.

"Supreme Kai of the South, Shin," Vegeta said to the short one named Shin. Being humble in these situations was fine. They were weaker than him, yet he needed their help. So he needed to strike a deal here.

Both gods were puzzled as to how a mortal knew their names and occupations. They both realized that he didn't come here by coincidence.

"Who are you, and how do you know how to reach this place?" Shin asked cautiously but with curiosity. He could feel that they didn't have any evil intentions.

"I need your help, and you will need their help in the future too," Vegeta pointed to the half-Saiyans beside him.

"I'll get straight to the point. Beating around the bush is not my style."

Both gods looked at him, waiting for an explanation.

"Majin Buu's Cocoon is on Earth, and in a few years, I know that the midget dark mage will try to act and resurrect the beast."

They both had surprised expressions. The first thing they did was search to see if he was Babidi's henchman. However, after examining his heart, they didn't find any control or magic from his enemy.

Yet, they remained cautious. No one was supposed to know about it.

Just as they were about to ask, Vegeta stopped them. "I can't tell you how I know unless you promise me that no harm will befall those involved in this secret."

Shin frowned in thought, while Kibito wore an expression that showed his disbelief that a mortal dared to keep secrets from them.

"...I promise, but I need to know the details. Anything involving Majin Buu is of concern to the universe."

Pointing at Trunks, Vegeta said, "His mother created a time machine, and I came from the past. I obtained the information there and came here hoping to aid them in fighting against it."

"..Past? Don't tell me you actually messed with time travel...?!"

"Y-Y-You fools!" Kibito almost screamed but restrained his voice in fear of someone hearing.

"...That's a grave sin... But a promise is a promise. I can get all the details of such an invention later."

"But you want me to believe that these two will have a chance against Majin Buu... They were strong, especially the blue-haired boy... Yet..."

"Trunks," Vegeta nodded his head towards the sword, and Trunks understood. He first tried to take it out in his normal state.

Seeing that the boy was failing to pull out the sword, Kibito was about to scrutinize him until Trunks transformed into a Super Saiyan 2 and easily pulled out the sword, causing both Kibito and Shin to comically widen their eyes in surprise.

"He took it out... He took it out, Kibito! And then the power," Shin exclaimed, filled with excitement. They now had a great chance to defeat Babidi and even stop Majin Buu.

"It's heavy... And honestly, I don't feel anything from it," Trunks had a confused expression. The sword was heavy, so maybe if they trained with it, they could become stronger. But if its only benefit was its weight, then it would be better to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber of this world and train there for two days.

"Give it to me, Trunks," Vegeta extended his hand and took the sword. It wobbled a little bit, and he could feel its heaviness.

"It is indeed heavy, but the supposed power is inside it." Without warning, he transformed into a Super Saiyan and positioned the sword near his feet, leaning it diagonally against the ground.

They watched him, wondering what he was about to do, then they became shocked when he struck the sword with all his strength.

"What... What did you just do!? What did you do with the Z Sword?!" Kibito was almost spewing with anger. Vegeta had just broken their most treasured object right in front of them. The only reason Kibito didn't charge at Vegeta was because Shin, who was equally shocked, held him back.

But their shock deepened when they felt waves of energy emanating from the sword, as if a door had just been opened, allowing the air to finally flow.

"Finally, I'm free! Ah, even after so many years, my back still kills me," a voice sounded from behind them. They turned their heads, expecting to see another intruder in their sanctuary.

To their surprise, they were greeted by someone who looked exactly like a Kai, only much, much older than they had anticipated.

"I-It was you, the one sealed within the broken sword?" Shin could sense that he was a genuine Kai, and the only explanation was that he had been sealed since the other Kais had died. He had never been mentioned in the company of this old Kai...

"Hm? Oh, how many generations has it been already? I need to see a cute girl, or else the world might as well end," the old Kai remarked.

"Hmph, a lecherous geezer as always... though he has no bad intentions," Vegeta muttered to himself, as Kibito and Shin tried to process how a Kai ended up trapped in a sword.

It turned out that, due to a disagreement with the God of Destruction, Beerus, the Elder Kai had been sealed inside the sword and left there. While it technically saved him from being killed by Majin Buu, it also deprived him of living a free life.

He might have even had the opportunity to help against Majin Buu's rampage years ago.

Vegeta walked over to the Elder Kai, pushing the other two aside. "Geezer, you have the power to unlock latent power, right?"

"Hmph, of course. That's what I've been trying to say to these 2 when I mentioned that I'm feared throughout the entire universe. But it's interesting how you know about it."

"It doesn't matter. Help those two with it. You will need their strength in the future, and for that, they need to know their limits and break them."

Seeing that the geezer seemed to be considering refusing his request, Vegeta added, "I'll bring a beautiful girl for you and let you play with her breasts for a few minutes. What do you say?"

He knew the Elder Kai's nature well. He was wise but lecherous, sometimes serious and sometimes childish. Dealing with old people was difficult.

With an eagerness only seen in young people, the Elder Kai quickly nodded his head and proceeded to perform the ritual. He chose to unlock Gohan's latent power first, and Trunks would be next.

Vegeta asked him to do the same for himself if he had time, but if not, they could save it for another time. If Elder Kai refused here, Vegeta could still ask the Elder Kai from his own timeline.

After hours of performing the ritual on Gohan, with the Elder complaining every minute about the need to extend it due to the boy's high latent potential, they were finally able to finish with him.

Gohan's power escalated to a completely new level, surprising even the gods. Vegeta nodded his head in approval. It wasn't enough to stop every threat in the future, but it was enough to give him a head start and pave his path for the future.

Gohan's power had risen to around 200 billion in this form. He probably could augment it with his Saiyan transformation, utilizing the usual multiplier. This was the unlocking of all of Future Gohan's potential. After fighting and gaining so much experience, as well as enduring numerous scars, it was only natural for his body to possess such immense stored power.

Afterward, Vegeta tested Gohan's power for a bit while Trunks and the Elder performed the ritual themselves.

After a few days of rest, Elder Kai did the same for Trunks.

Trunks' potential was also unlocked. He, too, was remarkably gifted. Although his power didn't reach Gohan's level, it was close enough. With training and pushing his limits, he would surpass everyone in due time.

Trunks now had a power of around 160 billion. It seemed that after being pushed to his limits during training with his father, his body was able to break apart and unlock his dormant power as well.

Vegeta entrusted Trunks to Gohan's hands, as they were both master and student. Now, he left this future in their capable hands. As the Prince of all Saiyans, he needed to ensure that they worked hard to achieve new heights.

Eventually, after a few more negotiations and promises, Vegeta was able to convince the Elder to unlock his power as well. Vegeta was initially skeptical because he remembered not having as much potential in his body as Gohan. He believed he could only break his limits after surpassing Super Saiyan Blue.

However, he was surprised by what the Elder said to him.

"You all want to kill me like this, especially you. By far, you have the most potential here. Do you want to become the strongest mortal in this universe? You might even become a candidate for that ridiculous god position. But fine, I'll do it. Although I'll require sufficient sacrifices later. Your woman's panties will suffice."

Vegeta's fury rose so high that the world trembled for a while until the Elder Kai relented.

"Fine! Fine! Any woman will do, as long as it's a pair of panties. Tch, he has the same temper as that guy..."

After making the promise, Vegeta allowed the ritual to begin. They spent hours performing it, and Vegeta, who now had the habit of meditating, found the ritual to be bearable. Sure, seeing a geezer dancing around him was weird, but besides that, everything else was fine.

Finally, after a full day and a few more hours, they finished the ritual.

Vegeta wanted to test his newfound power right away, but the Elder Kai intervened, saying, "Wait, wait! Let us move a bit further first. And don't destroy the planet. If you do, bad things will happen." Elder Kai gathered his things and vanished far away.

Everyone followed him, as most of them already knew that raising their power at this moment carried some risks.

Then, Vegeta began to increase his power as if he were going to transform but remained in his base form. His power kept rising and rising. The river started going crazy, and even the ground couldn't contain his immense power.

The entire planet shook, on the verge of breaking apart, as if an earthquake were affecting the entire world.

"Incredible. I knew Father was strong, but this level is on a whole different level," Trunks said, looking at his father's rising power.

"Of course, it's like this. He knows how to use Godly Ki already. That alone unlocks his limits and sets him on a path so grand that it's difficult to see its end," Elder Kai commented, having already deduced that Vegeta had learned Godly Ki. He was impressed.

"He may really become a candidate in a few years," the Elder Kai mused while observing the scene.

After a few moments of turbulence, Vegeta calmed his ki, feeling that this was his limit without transforming.

He looked at his hands and tried to feel his body. It was an enormous amount of power, and his ki control was affected by it, but other than that, it was all gains.

Whit his potential unleashed now his power now reached an immense 70 trillion. This was his current potential, which he could further augment with his Godly Ki and transformations for an even greater boost.

Vegeta clenched his fist and smiled. He was only just beginning. He would grow even stronger than this and break his limits again and again. His Saiyan blood made him boundless.
