บท 2: Chapter 1

To the people who read this book before the rewrite, you could forget about the previous plot. I'm going for a plot completely different and more action.
By the way, this Danmachi world is an Au (Alternate Universe) so it can fit to my story; but don't worry, I won't change the plot that much.

Chapter 1: Chimera Technique
On the gate entrance leading to Orario, a crowd of people who are in a line to enter the city is all looking in one direction
Just a moment ago, a man wearing a mysterious but sinister orange mask with spiral patterns appeared out of nowhere.
It looked like this person fell from the sky, directly landing before the entrance. Quite a flashy way of introduction to be honest
This person appeared before the entrance immediately making the guards alert towards this person. After all, they don't know his motives, and might have came here to cause trouble
But to their surprise, the man spoke playfully and childishly tone
"Hey~, Excuse me, but may I enter~?"
Shaun, who just arrived at the entrance, was quite confused as to why the guard looked frightened and are on guard towards him, but he immediately guessed that it may be because of his current appearance
So, he decided to speak like Tobi during his first appearance in the anime; to lower their alertness towards him. Childish and seem pure, but behind is a sinister schemer
The guards, hearing the person speak, lowered their alertness but did not intend to calm down.
The captain of the south gate spoke to him
"I-If you want to enter the city, y-you must line up f-first and pay the toll"
Hearing the guard, Shaun realized what he had done. He just came out of nowhere without even going in line and just told him to let him in.
He got flustered but did not show it on the outside.
"Alrighty~ I'll line up!"
Shaun responded with the same childish voice
After saying this, he left the front line and walked towards the end of the line
While walking, many eyes were focused on him. Some were scared, cautious, curious and there was even a small group of people with greed in their eyes for some reason. It's clear that these people are ignorant thugs who just saw their next 'Prey'. Basically idiots.
Reaching the end of the line, Shaun just stood there, MENACINGLY, while waiting for the line to move
During his wait at the back of the line, he managed to hear two people in front.
"Hey, do you have the money to enter?" Asked the person to whom seemed like his acquaintance
{Ah shit! Money! I don't have any money on me! What am I gonna do...}
While Shaun was panicking internally, the two men continued their conversation
"Yeah I got it here," the other person said while holding up a pouch, then continued "Damn~ the fees for entering cities increased so much. It's making merchants like us struggle"
"It can't be helped" replied the other person while shaking his head "After all, with the one-eyed dragon still alive, cities will naturally fund their resources to their military thus taxing us much higher"
Suddenly, the person behind them overheard their conversation and interrupted them
"Huh? Did you guys not hear the news? The Zeus and Hera Familia went out to subjugate it!"
"Wait seriously?! We know that the Zeus and Hera Familia had teamed up in the past to kill two legendary creatures which were the Leviathan of the Sea and the Behemoth of the land," the other person said with a surprised expression, then continued "Now they're subjugating the one-eyed black dragon?! That's amazing! Since they're the ones fighting then the dragon will surely die!"
{Wait... The one-eyed black dragon? In the anime, wasn't that creature killed 15 years before the canon? DOES THAT MEAN I'M 15 YEARS BEHIND THE STORYLINE?! Moreover, the Zeus and Hera familia did kill it but in exchange, their familia got destroyed!} Shaun thought with wide eyes
{Wait... They said that the Zeus and Hera familia just went out to subjugate it, which means that today will be the day that the dragon will die and so will their familia! Black dragon... If I use my Chimera Technique on it and obtain its abilities... Then I can get stronger!}
With a plan in mind, Shaun let out a small but malicious chuckle, which in turn, made the people around him get creeped out
Shaun did not notice it but it seems like he's next on the gate
"T-Toll fee p-please" said the guard while stuttering, obviously scared of the person in front of him
Shaun looked at the guard and spoke with his normal voice as it does not matter anymore whether they're scared or not.
"Nevermind... Forgive me for my disturbance"
Said Shaun with Obito's voice

With that said, Shaun once again used {SKY DANCE TECHNIQUE} and flew off.
If he is correct, he should be able to find the black dragon if he traces it with the scales it drops off on the ground.
The people who saw the mysterious person fly away sighed in relief
- Floating in the sky -
Shaun just randomly flew everywhere, trying to find traces of destruction to see if he's able to spot the aftermath of the black dragon's disaster
It took him quite a while, but his patience wasn't wasted; as he was able to see a gleam on top of a mountain and went to check it.
Sure enough, it was a large obsidian black scale; without a doubt that this scale belonged to the dragon.
Seeing the path of destruction with some black flames, Shaun followed the path
{Just wait for me black dragon! You shall become a part of me and increase my prowess!}
Having thought of that, Shaun increase the amount of chakra he is using on the {SKY DANCE TECHNIQUE} and sped up his flight
After some time of flying, Shaun finally saw it— a massive dark dragon corpse lying on the ground. The lands around it were barren and burnt
Around it were dead bodies to what Shaun had assumed to be the members of the Zeus and Hera familia
What intrigued Shun the most however was the old man with a white beard kneeling before a woman with white hair. They were not too far from the Dragon's corpse and it looked like she was dying, obviously, because Shaun can see her lower abdomen bleeding.
They seem to be talking about something, but Shaun did not care about it.
{If my guess is correct... That old man should be Zeus and the woman is... Huh? Hold on, she looks exactly like Bell from the anime... Oh shit, I remember reading on an online thread somewhere that Bell's parents were part of the Zeus familia, and before his mother died, she entrusted Bell to Zeus and live somewhere else and pretend to be his Grandfather}
Shaun did not believe it because, first, he did not read the novel yet, and second, it was a post online. Don't believe everything on the internet, kids
Shaun is currently shocked right now. He's witnessing an important moment! Although he isn't the biggest fan of Danmachi, he was still somewhat proud to see this scene
Not disturbing the moment, Shaun used {CAMOUFLAGE JUTSU} to hide his entire body and approach the dragon
Shaun assumes that Zeus has not noticed him and continued to approach the dragon's corpse. Finally reaching the corpse, Shaun placed his hand on the scales of the dragon and began the Chimera Technique
{CHIMERA TECHNIQUE!} Shaun thought internally
Then, Shaun's hands started to exude a large mass of deep blue, viscous fluid that covered a large area.
{Now... In order to replicate the One-eyed dragon's abilities in me, I need to replace a part of my body with what I want to replace it with.} Shaun thought.
This was the side effect of {CHIMERA TECHNIQUE}, if he wants to copy another creature's abilities, he needs to replace it with his body parts.
Having pondered about it for a while, Shaun decided to replace his left hand.
Even though it sounds idiotic, he found that replacing one of his hands with a black scaled version of it doesn't seem too bad.
Finally agreeing with his own decision, Shaun started to replace his left hand with black dragon parts.
Black fluid oozed out of his left hand while black fluids also started to scatter around the dragon's body, but of course, he controlled it so that the black fluid will only cover a small part of the body so that he won't be discovered.
Then, tiny black scales started to appear on his left arm. It was painful, he wanted to scream, but kept it in
{DAMN! HOLD ON! DON'T SCREAM!} Shaun shouted in his head. The pain was too unbearable
Then, his whole left arm had fully transformed to what looks like a dragon's claw, but with five fingers and more human-like
(A/N: Remember Rimuru's first fight with Souei? He hardened his arm to what looked like a scaled version of it. It's similar to this one but more slender)
Looking at his new hand while sweating and panting, Shaun curled up his lips
{It feels odd... Like a foreign object has been inserted inside your body. But at the same time, It feels like it had always been there.}
Shaun let out a small chuckle, he planned to leave this place since his objective has been completed.
But before he could leave, a woman's voice sounded In his ears
"Zeus? Where are you? Huh? Who're you?"
