บท 2: 2 - Makino and Luffy
Two hours passed and William woke up after blinking his eyes in surprise.
He was naturally surprised because he could feel that his wounds did not ache anymore plus he could feel foreign energy inside his body.
William carefully removed the bandage on his chest and was shocked to find that his wound had already closed.
' System , does this have something to do with me awakening chakra ? ' he decided to ask from system immediately because his curiosity was piqued.
' No! The Chakra Pill is System's unique product which can heal life threatening wounds on consumption. '
Wiliam was surprised but decided to forget about the chakra pill as according to system, he cannot purchase it from Shop in future.
Still he was feeling overjoyed because he could sense great vitality from his body. If not for the fact that he was afraid that his wounds will open , William would have already started exercising to spend this excessive energy from his body.
William carefully strapped the big bandage back on his chest and decided that it was time to greet his saviour.
His wounds before were very serious so it would be strange if he suddenly was totally healed which he did but William decided to act like an injured person to not cause any suspicions.
He stood up and wore a simple T shirt , pants and slippers which should be left by his saviour.
The building's condition should not be best though because he could hear the wooden floor producing creaking sounds as he took some steps forward.
William opened the door and suddenly various sounds could be heard. He was surprised because he could uesr many people chatting and some laughing. The mood seemed to be joyous.
After the door , stairs descended to the floor down. William took a peak at the situation downstairs and saw people eating , drinking in a happy mood in groups surrounding some tables.
The view became clearer as he continued to descend and soon William could see the bar counter and a beautiful lady cleaning some glasses with a white piece of cloth.
William could not help but stop in his tracks as he recognized the lady. She was definitely Makino. She was a real person instead of anime counterpart but Williams could still recognize her easily.
' I did not think that I was sleeping on the floor above her bar. Well it's time to greet her...'
William smiled and soon descended from the last stair and found many eyes staring at him.
Well Makino was like the female idol for men here and William came from upstairs so he understood that these men must have misunderstood something. It's not like William cared either so he just ignored them and walked towards the counter flashing a smile at Makino.
" Ara.. You can already walk young man! "
" Yes. Thank you for saving me miss! " William bowed and sincerely thanked her.
" What a polite you man. I did not save you though. It was Luffy , I just decided to lend the vacant room as he suddenly barged into my bar with carrying you on his back. Anyway, you must be hungry now. So how about some porridge? "
Makino spoke while cleaning the glass and did not notice the shocked expression on William's face.
' Luffy? I already had the luck to meet the main protagonist of this world? '
It took four seconds for William to calm down as he rationally thought that at least he was close to timeline of canon. This piece of information relieved him because his future knowledge would be useless if he had crossed over in a different time.
" What's the matter? You dont feel like eating yet, young man? "
William snapped out of it and noticed worried expression of Makino.
" Oh. no no.. I was just thinking something madam. In fact , I'm feeling very hungry so some light food will be much appreciated. By the way , my name is William. "
William flashed a smile and sat down on the nearby counter seat.
Makino smiled and placed the glass on the table and started to make preparations for cooking the porridge.
Well they dont serve porridge in a bar usually so William was not surprised at her actions.
" Brat !! What is your relationship with Makino chan? "
Suddenly Wiliam heard the angry ruff voice near his ear and was startled.
He looked at the direction and saw a tipsy midled aged man frowning at him. William could not help but click his tongue in annoyance when he realised that he was so easily scared.
" Did you not hear mister? I was injured and Makino san helped me." William answered with a harsh tone.
The middle aged man was clearly displeased the with the disrespectful tone of William but before he could respond, the door of the bar was flung open and a shadow came inside running fast.
" Oh? Occhan, where is Makino? "
The shadow turned out to be a teenager who was wearing a straw hat. He was clearly the main protagonist Monkey D Luffy as William could also recognize under his eye.
Luffy noticed someone staring at him and immediately smiled brightly when he saw the other party.
" You are fine !! Shishishishishi.. My name is Monkey D Luffy , the man who will become the King of Pirates! "
William absentmindedly shook Luffy's hand which the rubber man had raised. William regained his focus when he felt the strong grip of Luffy.
He could not help but feel excited as he saw the rubber man in flesh standing near him.
" Hi Luffy! My name is William and thanks for saving me. "
( William POV )
" Shishishishishi.. Dont mention it. "
After saying that Luffy just quietly sat on the stool next to mine and I could see that he was clearly feeling impatient.
He was holding fork each in both hands while glancing at the inner kitchen where Makino went to cook porridge for me.
I could not hold but feel that he really a guy with brutally honest personality. These type of people were rare but honestly I would not prefer to have a deep relationship with them like best friends etc.
After all Luffy wont be able to keep secrets and I planned to keep my future ninja abilities a secret for quite a while. If not for that, joining his future crew would not be bad as it would definitely be fun.
" Hey Will... "
" Its William ! "
" Ah.. William! So what is your dream? "
My dream? Honestly I did not have one. After all I did not have time to think one since crossing over to this world.
I'm sure that I wanted to have adventures and become strong though. So I was at least sure that what road I will choose in future.
" I will become a pirate in future but I dont care about finding One Piece. I guess I just want to roam the world freely and fight strong guys. "
I answered honestly as I did not see the need to lie to Luffy.
As expected Luffy's eyes brightened hearing my reply and I was pretty sure about what he was going to say next.
" Then you can join my crew. Shishishishishi.. It will be lots of fun. "
I knew it ! This guy really invited me so easily without even bothering to check my background or something. Still even such carelessness was part of his charm.
" No! I wont become anyone's subordinate. I plan to find my own crew in future. "
I declined his offer immediately even though it was somewhat tempting. I'm sure it would be fun if I joined his crew but I still prefer to find my own crew and have my own adventure
as it would definitely be more exciting.
I had the #system to help me become stronger more quickly as long as I do not slack off at my training. Come to think of it, I did not check out my system properly.
So I decided to check out my system's options first thing after eating the porridge. I wanted to do it now but honestly I was really hungry and found it difficult to focus right now. Besides Luffy looked like he still had not given up on inviting me to his crew..
Sigh.. it would be a headache to shake this guy off..
