บท 19: Chapter 19: the little shop
Genesis: Oh come on now it isn't that bad!
Sitting next to a girl who was sitting down on the ground rubbing her back while glaring at genesis for the "training" he gave her, she is still annoyed since those water shots to the body had started to hurt after awhile but that was then they started to call it a day.
Wendy: Your not the one who had to go through it!
Genesis: Oh believe me dear I have went through this enlightening training, and I know how you felt.
Genesis will admit he did tell a half-lie, while he didn't say do it to his level... well let's just say when he was very young his child mind was inspired by piccolo and had figured out alternative ways to learn the art of "dodging", it was quite embarrassing when he thinks about it but hey it works in the end.
Genesis: Now then I think we should go to the nearest town your little map shows.
While wendy was learning the art of dodging Genesis had notice from the small window a huge map with many circles on it, looking closer Genesis was surprised to see a map of Fiore with circles around where cities are place and some where familiar like Magnolia and Oak town. It seemed that Grandeeney had potentially made this in order to help wendy out in the future and it seems its use was coming into the light.
Wendy: E-Eh why do we need to go?
Genesis: Well one thing's for starters needing to find a shop that sells books that will help you learn since I can't help out, also I wish to get you something other then what is out here.
Now Genesis doesn't have anything wrong with what nature provides him and is very grateful for it, but he doesn't just want wendy to constantly eat the same food when she could be eating a good healthy breakfast/lunch/dinner filled with everything she needs.
Wendy: B-But we can-
Genesis: No butt's miss, Besides I am only needing to bring you since I don't want to leave you out here alone.
Yeah Genesis isn't dumb enough to leave a twelve year old by herself, especially one that is trained in the arcane arts for that is just asking for trouble to come knocking on the door. He is also wanting to bring her with him because he is hoping they can find a certain little exceed's egg in order to get wendy a new friend to have.
Genesis: Hey lobo, its time to get going!
Raising his head lobo looked over towards genesis before rolling his eyes and stretching in order to get himself fully awake, shaking his body to get the dirt of his fur lobo crouched down a little in order to allow wendy and Genesis to get on his back.
Genesis: Alright Lobo, remember that city I sent you to scout out?
Nodding his head Lobo barked before he started to take off in the direction that will lead them to the city genesis had wanted to go to since it wasn't too far, and was quite small compared to the others.
Wendy: Woah.....
Wendy was holding onto Lobo tightly but that doesn't mean she wasn't enjoying the feeling of running through the forest, since she is a child of a dragon her senses are more enhanced then that of a human's making it quite easy for her to see the forest around her and the sights it gives to her.
Genesis: Now wendy I am going to need you to stick to Lobo when we get to the town got it!
Shaking her head wendy had decided to just enjoy the feeling of air blowing onto her skin before it goes away, she may be a water dragon but that doesn't mean she can't enjoy anything else. Though after awhile lobo started to slow down before he completely stopped at the edge of the forest where not to far is a town that was bustling with life.
Genesis: Now then let's get shopping shall we?
Nodding her head wendy got off of lobo's back before she started to follow Genesis who was looking around at the shops or vendors that are selling vegetables, while this town isn't as popular as the towns built around famous guilds or has a famous attraction they still have everything one may need thanks to mages and trading.
Genesis: Hello there sir, do you perhaps have any books that can complete this list?
Right now genesis was inside a book shop with the name "A New Chapter" in hopes he could potentially help genesis and wendy out, genesis was able to "borrow" a piece of paper from someone in order to write down everything they need.
David: Hmm.... I so believe we have books about these subjects but may I ask why you are needing a book about the human body?
David here was a retired mage who wanted to live in a peaceful town in his retirement while running a book shop his parents had always wanted to create so he decided to help make that wish come true, he isn't too surprised on the fact genesis is wanting to buy books on subjects that are usually taught in grade school since some parents like to teach their kids themselves but he is a bit hesitant on giving this person a book about the human body in case they may be an upcoming dark mage.
Genesis: Oh you see I am wanting to get this book in order to help me in my career in healing and I do wish to make sure I know everything I need to know about the human body before I decide I try to do a field test.
David nodded his head while giving a brief glance down towards the bottom of his table to see a small orb that is glowing a bright green, this here was a "truth orb" that is given to all shop owners in an attempt to not sell products to those who aren't going to use them for good purposes. Of course this doesn't help the owners defend themselves but it allows them to know on whether or not to send a message to the kingdom's army.
David: Ah so you wish to be a battle medic huh? Don't usually see many go down that path but I do hope your endeavor pays off in the end.
Nodding his head Genesis briefly put down 50,000 jewels from the pouch he had taken from the man who was trailing behind him and wendy, probably in an attempt to rob them, but in the end genesis was able to score a good 500,000 jewels to spend.
Genesis: Alright wendy its time for us to go to the next shop!
Looking up from the book she was reading wendy nodded her head before she had put the book down in order to follow genesis with lobo not to far behind her, he had to waited outside since he is a bit too big for the shop and genesis didn't want lobo's hair to get everywhere.
Genesis: Now then let's just stop at one more shop before you can-oh what's this?
Genesis was about to turn the corner when he had notice a small vendor with a child standing behind the stall with many vials and a huge egg that had red markings on it making genesis very interested in this egg.
Genesis: Hello there child, do you mind telling me on what you are selling please?
Hearing a new voice the child jumped a little before they looked towards genesis making their eyes shine seeing they have a potential customer, quickly controlling their emotions the child quickly told genesis on what they have in shop.
Child: We are selling potions to even low grade poisons made for paralysis and I found this dragon egg so I was wanting to help it find a good home!
Genesis: Oh, what's a child like you selling stuff like this?
Child: U-Um.... please don't tell on me, I need this in order to save up money to help my big sister get into the school she is wanting!
At that a small frown appeared on genesis face hearing this, now he knows that this may not be true and the child may be trying to play at his heart but he can't just ignore what his heart is waiting to do even if he doesn't know the child at all.
Genesis: .... I would like to buy everything you have please.
Hearing that order the child's eyes widen before they gained hope seeing that he is willing to buy from him unlike others, and it seemed that this person is also wanting to buy everything meaning he was potentially going to get the money he needs to help his sister out.
Child: T-That will be 300,000 jewels please, 150,000 for the potions and poisons while the egg is 150,000.
Nodding his head genesis smiled softly before he just put the bag filled with the jewels he had onto the table before creating multiple tendrils of water in order to gently grab everything, though the child did help out by putting the poisons into bags making easier to carry.
Child: You have a nice day sir!
Genesis just smiled and nod his head in return before he went back to Wendy who just watched with a confused look on her face, she was confused on why he was willing to buy everything and give all their jewels to the child when they could've save them to buy more.
Wendy: Why did you give him more jewels?
Genesis: Well wendy, it may be because I am a bit of a softie when it comes to children or it maybe because I wish to help him out with his goal but all in all.... I just wanted to help someone out when I had got the more important stuff we needed.
Confuse on what he meant she just shrugged her shoulders before hopping on lobo's back, though while they were leaving the child genesis had given all his money was quickly running back towards a house with a huge smile on their face and a look of joy in their eyes.
Child: Hey big sis I have a gift for you!
Hearing her younger brother she turned her head to see what she was wanting before she had notice the bag of jewels he has in his hand, sighing softly knowing that he may have done something bad in order to help her out she was going to say something when she had notice he was dressed up in his "work" clothes their mother had gotten him when he said he was running a shop.
???: Were you actually running a shop!?
Nodding her head the child smiled before handing the bag of jewels before running towards his room in order to sleep, he didn't have to worry about the stand since that stand was a public owned one and anyone can use it if they get to it first so he had to wake up early in order to get it.
???: .... ha~, I thought I told him he didn't need to do that.
Shaking her head she put it to the back of her head that she was going to need to talk to her younger brother on doing stuff like this but for now she will just be happy that he went out of his way in order to help pay for her education.
